  1. Hi all, I am going to be taking on a 57 Ford Thunderbird AMT kit. I am sure some of you are aware that the chassis on this kit is not the best with the exhaust and drive train molded in. Any suggestion on a good replacement I can kit bash from?
  2. Hey Kenny, Welcome to MCM. You'll find this to be a really helpfull site for everything you want to know about building and for a lot of great modellers who share their work. Here is a link I found showing a club in Toronto. http://www.modelcarhub.com/clubintl.shtml BTW, I was just having fun with my comment regarding Vancouver being in Canada. Rob
  3. There is one in Vancouver Kenny. Vancouver is in Canada as well.
  4. You know I built that kit many moons ago and I totally forgot about that. I cut it off and used a aftermarket distributor. If I recall it was sitting back by the firewall as well!
  5. I would second Pete's choice of glue. Zap glue also makes a glue called 560 Canopy glue. It is made to glue cockpit canopies in model aircraft. I use this stuff to glue the glass into my model cars and even to glue painted pieces such as spoilers onto the body. Like the Kristal Klear it will not damage the paint, has a great bond, and allows for boo boo cleanup with water.
  6. Real nice job on this truck Jon. Great scratchbuilt chassis and I really like the work you did running fuel lines.
  7. Hi Paul, I love it! Nice work on the rear seat conversion and as usual, great paint job. Do you need a 427 for it?
  8. Very cool!! I'll give that a try for sure. How long do you set the exposure for?
  9. Ken, this is an awesome build. I love your use of the straws for exhaust! The seats are amazing as well.
  10. I have always liked the 32 Ford kits. My favorite is the highboy. I could build that kit 100s of time and never get bored of it. There are so many posibilities with the MCG photoetch, colors, wheels and tires.
  11. Nice job Tim. That is the race car trailer from Revell they did sometime ago. I am working on one right now and I love the wooden floor on yours. I hope you don't mind if I steal your idea and do the same with the flooring on mine. I am keeping the front portion of the trailer as mine will carry a race car. Rob
  12. Sorry to hear about your loses John. We are all here for such a short time. Not fair.
  13. Great story Manny, I would never have thought one could have a squirrel as a pet.
  14. Like many I like them all. I like to build the 20s - early 50s cars with body modifications and other customizations. They are fun to paint up with custom shiney colors and big wheels. Really I see it as anything goes on these. Mid 50s to Mid 60s I like to keep stock with some real minor mods adding custom wheels and engine upgrades. Mid 60s to current dates I like to build my favorite muscle cars stock. That would include the current muscle cars as well. Rob
  15. Dan, that is a very cool kit to have. I bet they are hard to come by.
  16. Nice job Tye. Do you have any shots of the engine? I am working on one now and have stripped the chrome off the engine and painted it aluminum. I'd like to see what you did with yours.
  17. Thanks for the good laugh. Let's see what he can do with this car.
  18. Looks great for a snapper. Good job, and I like the paint color.
  19. A tire store here in town had a sign saying: "Best place to take a leak" Clever
  20. That is a great idea. Nice and easy and it looks good. What size wire did you use? I have had a hard time trying to find wire small enough for this purpose.
  21. I haven't tried anything like this before but I would be interested. Harry, is there a way to take a poll on here? I have seen this used on other forums to determine how many would be interested. Rob
  22. I will second this in a heart beat. Along with the 68 Charger special ediion.
  23. Pete, I agree with all above. I have been here for about 7 months and I have learned so much from the many many great modellers on this site. Just crack open a new kit and get her going. Rob
  24. I agree, there is one in every crowd. I get frustrated with the Canada Post carrier on my route because he never rings to see if I am home. I end up getting a slip to pick it up the next day at the post office. I work out of my home and I am home 90% of the time. Now I leave a note on the mailbox saying "I am home, please ring for packages".
