  1. Darin, thanks for sharing such a heart warming story. It is amazing how our hobby can bring a smile to someones face like you did. Rob
  2. Happy Birthday Doc! I wear my kilt when I build.
  3. I really enjoyed reading through the WIP. I wonder how it all came out in the end. Sure looks cool!
  4. You sure got your work cut out for you on that one!
  5. That Lamb looks great. Excellent work!
  6. I thought the front wheel drives where going to show up in the 80s. Most of the "Stock Cars" as they say, running in Nascar are front wheel drives in the real world.
  7. Wait until Hyundai gets in there!
  8. I really like their paints as well with the exception of 1. drying time 2. the little paint cans are hard to pour out of without making a mess.
  9. That is one great looking Nova with many extra details. Well done, I love the sun glasses on the dash.
  10. Very nice Lambo.
  11. I am looking forward to seeing this build progress. You have done some great research. Off to a great start Scott!
  12. I have never tried laquer thinner for acrylic paint. Does it work better than Isopropyl alcohol?
  13. Sorry to hear the project ended up being a bust. For debonding superglue I have used nail polish remover. Acetone is the main ingredient that breaks down the CA glue. Nail polish remover is super cheap. Good luck with the new kit. Rob
  14. I agree with you Skip with one exception. Model Railroading is another love of mine and I have built a couple of award winning modules for the club I belong to. Aside from the others in the hobby I find people generally give me the same confused look I get when I show them model cars, planes, or even ships that I have built. Unless one is into a hobby like ours I don't think people understand the work and effort we put into our builds. Most associate the hobby to when they were a kid and build models in a couple of hours. That would be like saying to a true artist "I used to paint pictures when I was in grade 2". The model is our canvas. Oh, and by the way I am not a grandpa yet. lol
  15. Welcome Danny, I am sure you will find this forum a great place to learn and make friends.
  16. Oh man, thanks for sharing this. I thought I was the only one that has this kinda luck going for them.
  17. I have around 1000 kits in my stash. There are maybe a handfull of them that I put aside because they are old or hard to find kits. Now, i am just going to build them if I feel the urge to do so. There are so many repops of kits that haven't been around in years it is likely only a matter of time before the hard to find kits are available once again. I have a Monogram 1/8th scale Trans Am sitting in the stash. I bought it to build, then was told not to build it becuase it is worth a lot of money. The heck with it, I am going to build it.
  18. No kidding Bill. I have all of the respect in the world for you teaching grade 5s. I am sure there are great days but there must be some real challenging times.
  19. Hi Bill, Your good nature is something many people will and I am sure do appreciate. Unfortunatly there are many people in the world today who have their back up and shoot down constuctive critism. Don't change because of one bad experience. Rob
  20. Looks great Kevin. Have you primered the body before painting? What kind of problem are you having with the paint?
  21. I'll join into this one. It will likely mean I have 2 kits finished by the end of this one. I am proud to look at my completed Trans Am from last weekend.
  22. Welcome Kevin That Duster of yours is beautiful.
  23. I have lost track of what I have. I would guess I must be close or just over 1000 though. Not all cars, maybe 60% of those are car kits the rest are aircraft and military. Heck, if it made of styrene there is a good chance I will buy it.
  24. Thanks guys for the help. Ben I have sent you a note. Rob
  25. I like that idea Dr. Cranky. I have a couple sitting on the bench right now.
