  1. Wow! Some very impressive work and detailed to the T and you do it so fast. It takes me foreverrr to get anything done. I could learn a lot from your build, please keep it going. Can't wait to see the end result, nice work.
  2. I was thinking the same thing. Start cutting that thing up. You got a lot more room up front and out back with some convincing. Looks a lot better then it did tho, lookin good.
  3. Man, that is the coolest ride I've ever seen for Santa. Rudolph is gonna be pissed...haha. Can't wait to see how you finish this up. You got about 24 days left and counting, you better get cracking.
  4. Really cool project. Can't wait to see this thing finished up, nice work. Keep it going
  5. I'm really sorry to hear about tragedy. It's hard to find the good in a situation like that but I'm glad to see you we're able to salvage something out of it. It's a cool little project and held up nicely. I'll be keeping my eye on this for some progress. Good luck with everything.
  6. For being your first it looks like your really nailing it. I personally really like the stance and wheels you had in the first post and I would agree about the red seats. Keep it up, it's looking good. Btw, welcome to the site, lots of great projects and people here to learn from.
  7. Thanks Mike, I added you. I'm under Perfect Aperture. Thanks a lot Thomas. Sorry it took you so long to look through it all but I appreciate it.
  8. Haha....stirrers, good question. I thought about dumping that exhaust before the rear except I got this killer idea of putting them out of the bumper. You think if I ran them really close together down the middle I could squeeze them over the rear pumpkin and then somehow separate them to exit? I'm a little new to all this so I'm not even sure what that purple pond is that everyone talks about. I do know if I have any chemicals in the house that are purple. What are some other chemicals guys use for stripping paint/chrome?
  9. I'd have to agree, some flames would really look killer on this truck but I'm really liking that red you have on the rims for some reason. Can't wait to see more
  10. I remember that s10, thing was sick. I love flames but I liked this truck a lot more without them. Kind of reminds me of that red ext cab doored s10 that I believe was called "red dog", "big dog", something like that. Man, I used to go onto s10Forum all the time. I think my s/n was Blzer2BNoticdNJ or something like that. For the same reason as Stephen, I haven't posted on that site, streetsourcemag, blazinlow, or any of them forums for a long time.
  11. Thanks Ken, I was thinking about using some stabilizer/radius bars from my 32 kit. I checked out the metal hangers and they are to thick. Thanks for the help and welcome to the site.
  12. First off I wanted to thank everyone for their help and suggestions. So far this is what I found lying around the house. As you can see I have a couple different exhaust pipes, paper clip, q-tip post (blue), WD40 straw (red), and a 3M Dust Remover can straw (white). The ideal thickness would be the 2nd set of exhaust from the top but its the ones I need to use for the Merc, go figure. Next best option would be the 3M straw. Still not sure what I'm gonna use. I also have a 32 ford kit that has a couple sets of stabilizer/radius bars, is it possible I could use a set of them? Amongst that problem my other issue is still trying to figure out how I'm going to fit everything (4 link, shocks, exhaust, and brackets) at the rear with the over sized airbags. As you can see here I did a quick layout where I think the 4 link and shocks will work but its so tight I have no idea how I'm going to squeeze the exhaust by to reach the desired exhaust openings. Is it realistic to run the pipes over the gas tank and spare tire? Sorry for all the questions but this is the first time attempting any of this so any sort of help/suggestions/opinions/photos are much appreciated.
  13. Thanks for that link Mike. A lot of nice photos you took. There were a couple photos that might help me out but I couldn't save them so when I can figure out how to sign back into Flickr I'll just have to friend ya if that's cool with you so I can refer back to them.
  14. It's funny you should mention that Ken. I went looking in the closet the other night for my WD40, found the straw but I'm afraid it will give me fish eyes when it's time to paint. On the other hand I found another type of straw from a 3M Dust Remover can that would work but I'm not sure if there are any chemicals in the can that would give me the same problem when it's time to paint. Not sure, I might just use it.
  15. Todd and Paul, I never even thought of that. That's a real good idea. When I run into dunkin donuts the next time I'm gonna have to grab a handful of em'. Could probably use then for a bunch of different things. Paul, what are the micro brushes you mentioned?
  16. Rodger I cant tell you how many times I went through all my kits and extra parts trees I have and wouldn't you know, not one of them had a smaller thickness. When I get some cash I'm gonna have to figure out what sizes I need and order some up.
  17. Yea, I've been wondering the same thing. Hope everything's ok.
  18. Yea Mike, this is the same thing I saw when I went to your other post. It's. just a big black box for me, no link or photos. Not sure why but that's all I'm seeing.
  19. Now that's thinking outside the box Paul. Unfortunately I do not have any of those in the house, good idea tho. Thanks Gene, I'll do my best to keep everyone posted.
  20. That's a pretty good idea pat, does that actually work? I've never done it before, if you have any tips I'd like to know. Thanks. Thanks Corey, I've thought of that one too. I have a b&d screw gun but I'm running extra low on sanding materials so unless you have another idea on how to mill it down I'm all ears.
  21. Thanks for the idea Ken. I'm not sure I have any extra sitting around but I'll have to take a look. I've thought about that too Erik but I didn't have any in the house. They are pretty cheap, I may grab some next time I'm at the food store.
  22. Ok everyone, I need some help. I'm trying to build the 4 link but I don't have any plastic rod. The only rod I use is from the old parts tree and its to thick. The only thing I can find around the house are plastic q-tip post, old pens (the plastic rod that holds the ink), and those to are to thick. I have paper clips that might work but are metal. Does anyone have any other suggestions of things around the house that might work? I'm open to anything so shoot em' out, let's see what you guys can come up with.
  23. Thanks Mike but when I went and looked for the link I didn't see any photos. Could you post the link for me? Thanks Jerry, more to come soon.
  24. Excellent work rich as always. Can't wait to see that truck come together. That thing already looks mean. Love the little details of the wrench and magazines. Keep it gong, can't wait to see more.
  25. Hey man, that thing is looking better and better the 2nd time around. Sucks you had to re due it all but it looks well worth the trouble. Rather then lower the motor down, I too was going to suggest a shaker hood with that beautiful motor. All thou I really love the cowl hood you built for it the 1st time around, just went with the hard lines perfectly. I'm liking those mirrors as well. I was also looking at the side view picture and thought it would look good if you were to fill the sides of the lower front spoiler like you did with the rear spoiler. Just a suggestion, anyways it's coming along real nice, keep it going. Can't wait to see it back in paint.
