Well Albie, I never thought I'd be saying this to another man but that is one smooth looking banana you got there...haha. For real tho, that thing is sick, especially laid out on those wheels/tires. Not to mention that color combination is gorgeous. A lot of clean work, well executed. Can't wait to see your next project.

That's one nice lowrider. Love the rims and color. Nice build.

That is one sweet Camaro and that hood is bad a$$. I'll be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the colors until you added that pinstripe. That just changed the whole feeling. Awesome build.

1932 ford woody , woodwork on the body started (real wood)
JasonFL replied to crazyrichard's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Always fun watching your build. I wasn't feelin that color until you put those wood panels on and painted the seats to compliment the radiator case. Nice work Rich. -
Man that looks mean slammed. Clean work on that top, everything flows real nicely. Can't wait to see more.

Predicta 2.0 : radical T-Bird based custom
JasonFL replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
You always have some really cool creations going on and you came up with something that looks 20 times better then the box art. I'm not sure what's not working for you but I personally like what you've done so far. The only suggestion I would make is to maybe chop that bubble top down some so it flows with the rest of body. Hope you figure out what it is, I can't wait to see more. -
1950 oldsmobile custom finished! 02/1/2013

Just the right amount of chop and drop, not to mention those hood hinges are killer. You do some clean and detailed work. Can't wait to see more, keep it up. -
Very cool build James, as always. I really love what you did with those tail lights and grill. I also like that antenna, I was curious if you had any photos of how you did that? Can't wait to see how you finish this one up.

I saw this picture and it reminded me of your build. I thought it would be some inspiration but I see you have her done already. Can't wait to see how it turned out.

Bodied LUV
JasonFL replied to relaxednoma's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I never liked that green one when it was white with the ugly scallops and black rims but its lookin a lot better laid out with the chrome rims. Grant Kustoms is the sh*t. They do some of the cleanest metal work and that is one clean luv. This one has always been one of my favorites, not sure whatever happened to it. I always wanted to do this with the fender wells in my motor compartment. -
Project: "Inferno" 49 Merc - *Update p17* 3/13/15
JasonFL replied to JasonFL's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Ken, I have thought about that a lot but I'm still not sure. If I put the fuel cell in the trunk then I have to open that up and that's something I really wasn't planning on doing. I'll have to start saving all them old credit cards. I've used them for other things just never thought about making roll pans out of them. Thanks for the help on the purple pond stuff. I'm pretty sure I have 1 or 2 other different kind of degreasers in the house. I know one is simple green, not sure what the other is called. Is this what everyone uses to strip chrome as well? I'll have to start testing them out. -

Thanks a lot for the photos Brandon. I'm pretty sure that's tha way I'm gonna go, up over the rear and around the tank. I might cut the tank and the spare tire out but still not sure, just kinda playin it by year. If you look on page 2 post #21 it shows where the exhaust will exist. -

I like what you did there with the hood and bed, makes a nice hauler. Not to mention that real cool touch of the dice shifter. Clean lookin build Jim. -

JasonFL replied to JasonFL's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Yea bud, check out p8 post #158. It's rough but I think that's the layout I'm gonna go with. Then ill run the exhaust tightly down the middle, over the rear, and split it up around the gas tank/spare tire. -
N/m I take that back, I just looked at some of the rears I have and you couldn't do that. Thought they were two pieces but they all seem to be one piece. Looks like you would need a small drill bit or something. Sorry bout that, kinda sucks.

I feel ya. I'm in the same boat, I recently just got back into it as well. I only have 2 pieces of sand paper, some old nail filers from the wife, pieces of scotch brite pads, glue, and my handy exacto knife. I'm not sure what supplies you think you need but you should be able to just sand it down a bit with some sand paper or chip away at it with the back of your knife. I dunno, just an idea.

I know exactly what your talking about. Wish i could help but all the extra wheels and tires I have are from DUB edition cars. Couldnt you just remove some material and run that metal rod through the center of the rear end so you could connect the wheels? You seem talented enough that your building your own frame im sure you could mod it up some how to work. I'm sure there are guys on here that could tell you how to run those wheels. Just start asking around or make a separate post about it. Good luck

Project: "Inferno" 49 Merc - *Update p17* 3/13/15
JasonFL replied to JasonFL's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Yea Brandon, I didn't think the exhaust woulda been safe over the gas tank like that, just running low on options. The exhaust pretty much has to run down the middle from the front due to the bags. No room to have them fit off to the side. After they pass over the rear I need to make them go into different directions to go out the rear bumper. That's why I asked about the gas tank option. I never thought about the 3 link, I'll look into that tonight. I'll keep that size in mind while I'm looking for the links and if I ever have extra cash to order some supplies. Thanks for the compliment. It doesn't quit compare to that killer full frame build you got going on. One day I'll have to attempt the full frame build. -
Project: "Inferno" 49 Merc - *Update p17* 3/13/15
JasonFL replied to JasonFL's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'll have to look for it next time I'm by the dollar store. As for the linkage, I was going to do the tri 4 link like you suggested but then I worry about trying to get the exhaust over the links connected to the housing. I may have to spread the links on top out a bit and squeeze the exhaust over the top and then some how separate the exhaust their own way. Thanks again for the help -

Ahh ok, I kinda thought that's what you were referring to. I actually do have some that I was looking at but the ones I have are to thick. Man, you have some good ideas though. You've really been brain storming over there, I appreciate it Paul. -
Bodied LUV
JasonFL replied to relaxednoma's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Man I love your projects. The slammed Cameo, doored s10, and now the luv layed out on its rocker. I have to say I've never seen the luv as a step side and I'm luvin it. Don't go fleetside, looks so good and different slammed down with the step side. I really have to get my hands on a truck to lay out. Can't wait to see this on come together, don't forget to leave that heart decal on the rocker..haha.
