  1. I'd have to agree with everyone else, this is a great looking build, very clean. Love the wheels and color combo. I was also wondering why you didn't carry that black all the way around onto the tailgate? Other then that, nice build.
  2. Some clean work so far. Like the way your doing that rear setup. Keep it going
  3. That pickup is killer looking. You have a build thread on it or anything? To bad it got stepped on, i guess thats one way to bd it...lol.
  4. You don't see to many of these slammed, i always liked that side split window. Look forward to see this one come together.
  5. Thanks man. This is the first time attempting any of this so I'm just taking my time. Thanks.
  6. Thanks guys for the advice. I'll have to try some of these when I'm ready to strip some chrome. I haven't been to the bench lately but I've worked a little on the 4 link. I might not run the exhaust through the back, not enough room so I might run them out the side and use the cone things on the rear for tail lights. We' ll see, thanks for all the help
  7. Looking good rich. Always fun to watch your builds, every single one of them has such a different style and personality. I'm diggin the way you cut that roof off and did that trunk lid with tail lights. Nice choice with the color, can't wait to see it all finished up.
  8. Really cool buIld. I like the air ride set up and the rims you have it sittin on. Can't wait to see it in paint, keep it going.
  9. Ahh ok. Thanks for straighten that up for me.
  10. Everything's looking real good. I like what your doing with the rear end set up, your moving right along. Keep it going.
  11. Haha, go for it. I wasnt intending on getting so detailed but as I go on I can't help but think I can make it look 20 times better if I just take it that one step further.
  12. Very very cool build. Lots of awesome details, great job.
  13. I've seen a lot of people without inner fender wells, especially in the truck scene with them slammed on the rockers. I to have done this with my fullsize bagged on 20s and I know a lot of the guys love the look of the tires being swallowed up by the fenders when you open the hood. Even in the rain it doesn't harm anything unless you have a lot of that computer mumbo jumbo junk. As for the "floating alternator" I see most people seem to just build the motor the way it is. I've never built any brackets for them nor have I done that much detail to them but that's just me. Maybe I'll have to try and attempt more detail on one of my motors.
  14. Now that's what I call a delivery truck! Killer job. Love the paint and rims/tires. Where did the rims/tires come from? Nice and clean build.
  15. Awesome looking build doc., it was a lot of fun to watch. I love what you've done with it. This kit has so many cool parts I have to get my hands on one. Looking forward to the next mad creation, keep it up.
  16. Ahh I was thinking the same thing Albie. It's so close to dragging that rocker. It is a nice clean build tho. I need to get me a few of these kits. Any photos of the build up or frame? Nice job on the build and if I haven't said this to you already welcome to the site. A lot of great people with some really cool builds.
  17. If your interested here's a link to my 49 Merc build. I have to update the photos but you'll get the idea. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=63010&st=0
  18. What a tease! That's all your gonna throw up there? Lets see this Nissan already...haha! If I was in Cali I'd be over there helpin ya out. If your boy doesn't want to learn how to weld you could teach me, I've only done some minor welding here and there. I would love to know how to weld/fab and work at a custom shop. I just don't know how to get my foot in the door. My pops owned an auto body shop just about all my life that I worked at but I was never allowed to do a lot cause I was the run-around clean up guy. I got the modeling bug a year or two ago and just been taking my time building, having fun. Right now I'm working on the 4 link and rear set up on my 49 Merc. Trying to get it to lay rocker. I'd like to do a truck next. If your looking for a Nissan model you should post something up in the wanted section. People are a big help on here and a lot of them have tons and tons of models so you might get lucky. Of not check out ebay. Might be discontinued but there has to be one out there somewhere. I searched a good year before finding someone who does a resin kit of the 85 blazer. Just keep searching, that's part of the fun.
  19. Some nice work and detail with the scratch building, you even added a little chain. I have a stupid question for ya tho, but what is a "swamp cooler",i never understood what they were for? I didnt even know that was the name of them until I saw you post it. I've seen them on old lowriders but never understood their purpose. I mean from the looks of yours, it looks like its some sort of way to cool the interior off but then why not just roll the windows down?
  20. I like where your going with this so far. I love a slammed truck. My first 1:1 truck was a 85 bagged and shaved blazer, never got a chance to finish the bd and chop top on it. Just something about that year blazer/pickup I love. In my opinion body kits don't belong on trucks so I would bd it and lay it hard on the rockers if I were you. Keep it up, looking forward to seeing how you do the rear setup. Btw, welcome to the site. Lots of great people here with some really cool projects. You'll fit right in.
  21. Man that paint combo came out gorgeous and nice job on that BMF. Btw I'm liking that little detail of the 88 decal on the air tank, nice touch. Your almost there, can't wait to see it all done
  22. Thanks Dominik, that would be great. I used to have a kit when I was a kid that had a chevy step side pickup with a race boat on the back, " Revell Mach 1 formula one Racing" and never finished it. After seeing this build I've been looking for different kits with boats and came across one that has a chevy truck with a hemi-hydro boat on the back and I would really like to get that kit and hopefully finish it this time. What kit did you build yours off of? Again, great looking build.
  23. I have been waiting to see this movie since it came out but I have yet to see it on Netflix. How did you get it already? I just checked and its still not on there.
  24. That's is so freakin cool. Would of never known it was scratch built if you hadn't posted those photos. I gotta start trying this "stretching of sprue" thing.
  25. Sounds sweet, can't wait to see build up photos. I'm surprised you weren't able to find any photos of motor compartments. I found a couple but I wasn't sure what exactly you were looking for. If you can't find any on google here's a couple links, maybe they'll help. I'm on this site a lot. Go to the link and go down a little bit. You'll see a search box, go there and pick the vehicle your looking for, you can pick a few at a time then just check out all the profiles that come up. http://www.streetsource.com/OwnerProfiles/ If that don't work check out these sites with good show coverage http://socalcustoms.com/ http://dropjawmag.com/ http://sportruck.com/ http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forum/forum.php Your bound to find something, good luck. Hope that helps.
