  1. Awesome trailer, thinking of building one in 1/16 scale for my pro mod build. Care to share offline some of your insight on the basic trailer foundation/frame aspects?
  2. Joe looks awesome... But you already know that.. Show us young Padawans the way of the force and educate us on the proper way to set up the front body mounts.. Because I am struggling with this myself!
  3. Thanks Chris... Your work inspires me until I have to place an order with Scale Hardware.. LoL. Every time I look over you Army car build I work to see what I can do differently just to step up to your build talent.
  4. Man Chris, great job on making that seat! You have more patience than I do.. I would have stopped on the second or third try. In fact I think you are darn close enough to the contour of the chassis.. In horse shows and grenades you would have ringers or be dead on... Lol.
  5. Rylan,, the build looks awesome.. And something you don't see all the time. As to your question, just me but the back does look slightly lower than it should be. Maybe raise the car at that stance in the front and back? I have never built gassers but from what I recall, they seem to be really high in the front, which would bring your back end of the wagon up some.
  6. Man Darryl, you do some of the best dioramas I have ever seen... Bar none. I do have to say, that is one tough cardboard box to hold up a scale tire with wheel and no wrinkles or even giving way to the weight.
  7. Thanks Bill for the compliment! I don't use a jig per say, because each car chassis/cage would be different based on the car. On the first page, you can see the board with lines. I use that to make sure my frame is straight and sits directly to the specific rise height as it sets. This way I know without a doubt it will be at the height I need when finished. Really the body dictates your cage for you. Especially with resin bodies, because some are not symmetrical from left to right side of center.
  8. I agree with Joe... Super Clean bios and fits the name of the car.
  9. I agree the paint job is impeccable, excellent job. The gold slot mags look the part. Only feedback I have for you is.... You need to post more often. Can you see if you can post actual links here instead of your foki link? Thanks.
  10. Another nice build.... The 32 is my favorite be it hot rod or dragster. I agree, need to show us the WIPS.
  11. Great execution on the body work and paint job! Would like to see some close up shots. Sorry... Just a detail nutt tryng to get my daily fix.
  12. Very cool set up. Not very often you see turbo set ups. I will be keepin an eye on this one.
  13. Thanks Mike for the kind words... I appreciate you saying my stuff can be used as reference materials for future builds... but I have to say that there are quite a few builders on here that, I could easily put them in this same category way above me.
  14. yep... RB Motion Heim joints from my 1/25 scale build, I used some of the larger ones (I think they are part# 1504). I also have the 1506's for the front a-arms. The SS tubing that comes with them are to small. Since I use to dabble in Slot Car building of chassis, I had extra Stainless Steel tubing laying around in different lengths. The linkage going up to the clutch can for the fork, is to small and will need to be swapped out the next time a tear it down.
  15. Thanks Dave for the insight on soldering... I guess I need to get the tools out and do more of it, to get more comfortable with the process. So the Sears soldering gun you have, is it the electric on that looks like a gun or the old iron type? I am getting excited about the body... sounds like it is getting closer to fruition! I know at least a 1/16 scale will be in my future if not larger. Not sure about 1/8th scale, that is definitely big boys playing grounds and my pants aren't quite big enough to play in the same sand box!
  16. Looks cool Robert, I like the back portion and how you did up all the smaller tubes to hold up the back of the body. I am curious to see how you hook up all the stuff up front for that monster of a motor.
  17. Tyrone, Joe (Batzilla), Darryl, Brett, Joe (Prostreet), Wayne and Scott... Thank you all for the wonderful words of encouragement, it means a lot. If anything at all, my hopes are that the detail inspires others to spread their wings and venture outside of their comfort zone and try things that they normally wouldn't do on a build. I spent countless hours trying to figure out how to combine metal and styrene due to the fact that plastic/styrene tubing "OD" and "ID" diameters will not work together. Then trying to figure out how to do Tube inside of Tube to set up my clutch and brake to function. I had a headache, and just had to set down and start mocking things up. What threw me off was my darn Tranny section where I built my uprights to bend inward and up. This caused fitment issues with my linkages. So one, detail caused a chain reaction of other issues. Oh well.... we live and learn, and I can say that I am learning a lot on this project. After reading Greg (stump) and Joe (Prostreet)'s threads about waiting to run the top of the cage, I see why now! I had to take mine apart on the drivers side so I could get to things because of my hands.
  18. Thanks Dave, my brain is just a smoking with idea's.... my thoughts are to make the bracket for the master cylinder and bracket on the pedal. Then have it so the plunger part of the master cylinder will function with the pedal. Now just need a way to pour in the blood, sweat and tears instead of brake fluid and will be good to go! Hopefully the salt wont corrode anything as it circulates through the system! LOL
  19. Man some of those runs would definitely put hair on your chest and skid marks in your underware by the time you got to the other end of the track. What is up with most of the cars without wheelie bars, wouldn't that stop most of that launching problems?
  20. Thanks guys for stopping in and checking out my latest updates. If any of my pictures or videos help out, I am glad I could help. My poor little thumbs are screaming bloody murder. Man those small details.. Why do the small things always cause more pain? Lol
  21. Yep... I try to take Ginkobiloba to help with memory... But I keep forgetting to take the darn pills on a regular basis.
  22. Keep those pictures coming! Linkin good with each update.
  23. Wow Mike, that chassis is from your other build? That chassis looks just like something from the factory. Great execution!
  24. Nice slot car... at one point I was thinking of putting a scale 1/8 mile drag strip in my basement.
  25. If interested, here is the video of the working parts in action, I thought I would throw it up so everyone could see the movement. Sorry for the fuzzy video, my camera only does 640x480. Just click on the Picture and it will pop up the video.
