  1. Progress is looking good Ray.
  2. O.K., so the bodywork is pretty much complete and all panels that needed to be cut out, including the front clip, have been done. Now it's time to start on the basic assembly and paint and get this thing completed.
  3. Some more small updates. The bodywork is coming along slowly as I'm trying to make sure that everything flows just right. I added a rear spoiler and blended it into the trunk lid. I also scribed and cut out the side panel to expose the chassis and where the electronics will be located.
  4. Headers look great Tyrone.
  5. Another mockup with a few added small changes. The front suspension has been setup with the right ride height. I also decided to go with a pair of Comp. resins wrinkle wall slicks. The wheels are Convos Pros painted black. I am also still racking my brain as to which way to go with the paint scheme.
  6. Here's some more done. The trunk has been opened and will be finished at a later time. More framerails added throughout. I also added the dash panel from the Cobra kit and a sheet styrene panel behind the dash.
  7. Thanks Daryl. I haven't pinned down the paint scheme yet. I have a few ideas but nothing solid yet.
  8. Thanks for all of the comments guys. A little more done today. Got a good bit more completed on the chassis. Not much in the way of reference to find for roadster style chassis so I'm pretty much winging it. I've got it to the point that the driver rollcage hoop is attached and at the perfect height. A few more cross braces to add and the chassis will be ready for some paint. I also added some more filler to fix any small defects in the bodywork. I also decided on using the engine setup from the Revell Jukebox Ford kit. I've got it mocked up to see how it will fit. When it's complete it will be topped off with a single four barrel carb. Moving right along.
  9. Looks great so far Virgil.
  10. Just a bit more. More sanding done on the body with a first coat of primer to see where I am at with the bodywork. I pulled a windscreen from the parts box to see how it would fit. And a shot of where I am at with the chassis construction. Like I said before, the chassis will be a parts box build all in it's own with all of the different parts that I'm combining together.
  11. Well, here is more. I was able to get a bit more sanding done as the body filler has finally fully cured. I ran out of automotive filler and had to work with some Squadron white, which takes longer to set up. I am also trying different scoops to see which one will work the best. So far I'm liking this one the best. And, I was also able to get a bit further along on the chassis even though it's still in the rough stage. I started with a set of wheel tubs that were shaved in just the right spots to fit this body. Then a seperate tunnel was added. Next came the firewall and finally the framerails from a Revell Sportsman kit cut in a few different places to fit inside the body. Once I add floor panels and more framerails it will all start to come together and look like something.
  12. I love the color Brett.
  13. I'm not locked into the mockup scoop. I've got a resin sportsman style scoop that is slightly taller that may work better. It all depends on where I go with the powerplant. I even have a Mountain Motor Pro Stock style Ford powerplant but using that would mean changing the idea to a Comp. eliminator car instead, which is still possible.
  14. Looks really good.
  15. Looks good Virgil. The radiused wheelwells look good but I kind of liked it with the skirts also.
  16. Here's some that might help.
  17. Here is my latest wip. I'm not finished with the 63 pro mod yet but wanted to get started on this one to see where I could get with it. The starting point is the latest release of the Cobra road race kit from Revell. I stretched the body slightly through the cowl area as well as adding styrene sheet to the rocker panels to lower the cars overall look. The chassis will be pieced together from multiple kit parts and styrene tubing to acheiev the super gas roadster style chassis. The wheel tubs are already cut, shaped and mocked up to ensure that they will fit. I will then start building the chassis forward from the wheel tubs. I wanted to make sure that they were a perfect fit before going any further. I'm still brainstorming on a suitable powerplant along with a custom paint scheme.
  18. Looks good Tyrone. That last shot says it all.
  19. Nice pics. Adam. You have a couple there of models that I didn't recall seeing. Missed the bombshell as well.
  20. Here are a couple of shots of the "Best Auto" and overall "Best in Show".
  21. Here is the start. I have close to 300 automotive photos loaded so far. Still more to go in auto. When I am done there will be over 1,200 photos spread out across 8 albums. Below is the link to the auto album. Once your done looking there just click above the album to find your way into any of the others for different subject matter, once they're loaded of course. I should have everything in there by the weekend. http://public.fotki.com/1320wayne/model_shows/2012-shows/2012-ipms-national-/automotive/
  22. See if this link works. http://svsm.org/gallery/orlando2012-awards?page=1
  23. Awesome job Tyrone. This one is looking great, as to be expected with any of your builds.
