  1. Awesome job so far Brett. I've always wanted to do something like this but have been a bit overwhelmed with how many people I think would be needed to be convincing, but that's just me. What you've got is great and is coming along nicely. Can't wait to see more.
  2. Looks good Charlie. Good to see more progress.
  3. Here is a link to pictures from Saturdays June club meeting for FAST, in Ocala at the regular meeting place, Hobby Lobby. Another great meeting with excellent turnout. Not so many projects and completed builds on the table but everything there was superb and interesting. Took a little side trip after the meeting to check out the personal collection of one of the fellow members and was blown away by the sheer number of models (built and unbuilt) Nascar and other car memorabilia and his 1:1 mint condition Trans Am Pace Cars stored in the garage. I should have brought the camera in to document but was so overwhelmed by everything to see that I totally spaced that. http://public.fotki.com/1320wayne/fast-club-meetings/june-2012-fast-meeting/
  4. First of all let me say nice build, and welcome back. Next, as far as the decal comment goes, your decal that I was working on would have been done but since you dissappeared from the board I had no way of contacting you to get any added details as to what you wanted. If you still want something for maybe another project let me know. I'm always willing to help but I need to be able to get ahold of you.
  5. Slow and steady progress. I decided to swap out the scoop that I'm going to use for one that I mastered for TEM. Most of the chassis is done. Added all of the main chassis bars along with the driver cage. And, I started adding some of the fine photo etch pieces from the Dirtmodelor set. The four link brackets are in along with the body braces at the front of the chassis and the top brackets for the spindle mounts. Next up is the floorboards and the remaining chassis bars along with the rest of the photo etch brackets for the suspension.
  6. Here are some from a drag album that I put together. These are not my builds.
  7. My problem is a bit different. As a seller I try to remember to leave feedback for the buyer as soon as they pay but sometimes forget or have too much activity going on at the same time to keep up, but my problem is the fact that Ebay and Paypal heavily lean towards protecting the buyer moreso than the seller. They make most of their money from the seller but yet we are left out in the cold if there is a problem. For example, I just sent out a completed auction to a buyer who took longer than normal to pay. Not a big deal. But 5 to 7 days after I shipped the package I get a message from the buyer stating that they are returning the item. I ask why but get no response. Over a week later I get the package back only to find that the buyer never opened the package and merely added a return to sender label on it. The next day I refund the original purchase price but not the cost of shipping. Two days later I have a dispute filed against me from the buyer claiming that I had no right to refuse the shipping cost return because the item was not as described. So basically they lied to Ebay and as a result my account gets locked up until I resolve the issue. I sent a response to Ebay about the issue but get no response. The only way to resolve the issue is to refund the money. This part of the Ebay experience is wrong. I have had few issues with Ebay but this part of it is very disheartening as a seller.
  8. Awesome work Fred. Great job on the build and especially the figure.
  9. You bet. A first for me as I have never done up a complete nitrous motor before.
  10. More progress. Starting to get some work done on the engine, bellhousing, 3-speed Lenco and rearend housing. All the while I am getting more work done on the chassis to the point that I should have an update on that one by tommorrow night.
  11. I don't venture into this section of the forum too often but after you sent me the email with a couple of pics. I had to check it out. The body and all of the work you have put into it so far is awesome. Keep it up.
  12. I'd say that you thinned the inside. So much so that it is almost transparent. Fits good with all of the work.
  13. Model magic!.............actually the dogs hind legs (paws) are pinned in place on the floorboard of the Explorer.
  14. It's been a long hard week at work and I just read this and started busting out in hysterical laughter to the point that my wife wanted to know what was so funny. I'm sitting here trying to picture the person clutching the teddy bear 57 Chevy. Thanks.
  15. O.K., so I can't sit back and let everyone else have all of the Pro Mod fun so I figured it was time to get back to this and stick with it to the end. The last update, back in March, I had to open the scoop area for the engine to fit better. Well, I was able to create a bew hood bulge area and seal up the hole. I still have a little bit of work to get some more rounded edges on this new area and then it will be ready for the scoop to be mounted. Instead of trying to paint it and get the orange to blend in I will most likely add carbon fiber decals to this new area as a contrast. Also, this past weekend I was able to travel to South Carolina for a show, and to visit family and to stop at Chris Buck's house and pick up all of the supplies to possible re-start the Top End Miniatures business sometime down the road. Along with all of the body and parts molds, RTV and resin casting supplies, pressure pots and more Renshape than I know what to do with, I also acquired a number of parts and all of the masters for so many pieces molded for the business. Along with these parts was a set of wheelie bars that Chris designed that were going to be cast at one time but after careful consideration, decided that it would be too tough to cast something so delicate. So, the wheelie bars will be used on this build and look pretty awesome and they attach perfectly to the TEM resin cast rear end housing. I am attaching all of this with Scale Hardware nuts and bolts. Thanks for looking and I will have many more updates soon to follow.
  16. If you don't like it why bother commenting? David, the progress is coming out superb. The work you are putting into this will surely pay off with an excellent build when it's complete. Can't wait to see more.
  17. Darrin, I'm not sure if I am the person you are referring to but this is what I have created and shown on a few other sites. I posted some of these to show folks what they could create using their own computer and a simple inkjet printer. Below is just one of the sheets that I created and what it looks like on the finished build.
  18. That looks sharp Brett. Awesome work.
  19. Same here Mike. I always enjoy the drive up from FL to this show and hope to do it more in the coming years.
  20. Here's a few more. Winter in Oregon Driving through Crater Lake in Southern Oregon. This is in mid June, believe it or not. One very scary bridge that stretches from Oregon to Washington right at the channel to the Pacific Ocean in Astoria Oregon. This fine looking F-100 was sitting outside the Harrah's casino in Cherokee NC. And here is more examples of my driving/photography skills. My wife hates it when I do this. This is along I-70 in Utah going through Devils Canyon. And then on the same trip on I-70 in Kansas we came across this OCC chopper for the U.S. Army.
  21. O.K., I'll play. This first shot was driving across interstate 80 from Salt Lake to Reno, just after the GSL contest in 2005. The shot is looking out across the Bonneville Salt Flats. Staying with the GSL trend. This shot is of Mt. Hood, just outside Portland , OR that I took from the window of the plane as I was flying back home after the contest in 2007. A1A in Daytona Beach last September. Driving through a tree in Northern California. And, just in case anyone didn't realize just how big the trunk of a California Redwood tree could be.
  22. Here is the link to my album from this weekends contest in Simpsonville, SC. Great show with lots of good turnout. 498 registered models in the contest with lots of quality builds. http://public.fotki.com/1320wayne/model_shows/2012-shows/2012-scma-simpsonvi/
