  2. The only thing I found wrong with this kit is that the spot where the interior side panels meet with the floor. The four tabs are visible from the underside. See in my photo. Easily fixed next time!
  3. Yup, I like the two part wheels. On my recent Falcon stocker the rear tires I chose were too wide. No problem, I just added a piece of scrap plastic between the wheel halves to mate them
  4. This afternoon I spent a frustrating hour in the model room. I have two small springs I cut for front suspension. I found one on the bench and had to search for the second one. Sure enough it strayed across the bench and was under something. I no sooner had the pair, then dropped one! I did a floor sweep and was fortunate to find it. Now they are glued in place. Something that should have taken a few minutes became an hour! The good part? During the floor sweep I found the missing Trabbie rear hatch strut!
  5. Interesting! If that’s the kit chassis you are using, it’s tons better than the one under the Falcon Modified Stocker. I wound up putting a RM 1/24 scale 66 Mustang Shelby chassis under mine.
  6. Joe, the owner of MCW is Michael Guest. He first took on the paint business a while back and got the resin business from Dave Dodge about a year ago. He registered as an NNL East vendor last year, then cancelled saying he had to concentrate on getting the resin business off the ground. I inquired this year and he responded like the website says, he’s added some help to catch up with the demand. It’s admirable that he’s putting waiting customers first, before attending the show.

  8. The last issue Danbury cars are the only mint cars that command a decent dollar. The next one up was to be the Hollingsworth 57 Nomad, but the program was cut short with the Chinese vendor going belly up. I was seriously looking forward to that one! Note that the genius behind these were our very own Doug Whyte and Rick Hanmore.
  9. per the suggestion of dual windshields, here’s what was in the Beverly Hillbillies truck kit custom option. Not saying to grab it from that kit since these frames are a bit thick, just the concept.

  11. Richard I know you are just playing with this one since it never will overcome its Palmer like issues. Per the door color, you can either two tone the sides or bite the bullet and tear it down to repaint the entire body in one color. Here’s one of my rebuilds. It had no hood and I knew I wasn’t going to match the ancient light blue so I added the bright blue color to pull it all together. You can do something similar with the Corvette.

  14. I ruined a pair of these myself doing the same thing! That pair now sits on the bench as general use cutters, while my new photo etch cutters are in the box with my photo etch sets to avoid a repeat!
  15. I built one too! I liked that the cab and bed connected together, made t easier to set straight on the chassis.
  16. Absolutely agreed! I have the 1mm pen and only use it for minor touch up like where spruce was connected, lug nuts and some interior trim. Ive never worried about storing the pen, it often is just sitting on the bench sideways. Mine’s maybe two years old and no problems when I go to use it. For those not using an air brush, Alclad also comes in a spray can.
  17. I found the camper pieces to be large and out of scale. That’s why I scratch built the cabinetry in my camper
  18. I once lost a single letter from a photo etch script. Later found it securely glued to my shirt cuff.. it had even been through the wash!

  20. Joanne’s fabric store’s website has thousands of fabric choices that you can copy. I did that for my 1950 Ford Jitney bus seats.

  23. In the Barracuda vs Mustang debate, history loses perspective of the size of these companies, development funds available and production capacity. Yes, Mustang was a huge phenomena. It was the right car at the right time, but Barracuda was a big success for Chrysler and added to their bottom line. In parallel when Chrysler designed the Ram pickup with big rig styling, they knew it was a radical change from what was on the market at the time. Their sales target was to capture 10 percent of the large pickup market. They were taken by surprise by the public reaction and subsequent demand. They completely taxed their manufacturing capacities and took a 20 percent market share that first year. And they could’ve sold more if they had the ability to produce them. It was a huge success for little Chrysler. Still armchair historians who just look at production numbers will deduce and write that the Ram pickup was a failure since it “only captured 20 percent of the market, far behind GM and Ford”.
