Lemons can be squeezed to make a tasty drink, unless they are cars and then they just suck

Love the pothole story! Years ago when I worked in Pearl River, NY, my company sponsored a 5k race. I wound up running the day. The race was run through the town and neighborhoods. One task was to paint arrows along the course, especially at the turns. So here I am out there with yellow road spray paint. I'm feeling awful illegal as I paint, expecting someone to stop me. A few people in the neighborhood noticed me and I expected to get yelled at. Instead, they were asking when the race was. Then there was a town police car behind me with the lights on. I thought I was in trouble so I walked back to the car. The cop said he was going to shadow me the rest of the route so I didn't get hit by a car! Quite an experience. I did check after the first year's race and saw that the yellow washed away in a week or two. No harm, no foul.

Don’t forget… ?️
Tom Geiger replied to OldNYJim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
And 50 years behind the times! Time change drove me nutz back when I was still gainfully employed. I ran an initiative for manufacturing plants around the world and it was tough to keep track of when setting up meetings. There were the places that didn’t do the clock change like Puerto Rico and China. The Puerto Ricans would complain we were setting meetings for their lunchtime! The Chinese never complained! They’d come to meetings at 3am if someone scheduled it. Europe participated but several weeks off. So you had to keep track of that too. And Outlook calendar nearly blew up on us! -
It’s a drunk trap! A stein of beer as bait and a hook to grab them! ?

My wife was all fretting about our front yard appearance with every parent in the neighborhood coming to inspect! So I spent the afternoon getting rid of some weeds and trimming bushes along out front walk. End of story? We had 7 kids come! A group of 3 little girls and a mixed group of 4 kids! Not a parent in sight. And it was dark anyway! I was sore this morning!

What did you see on the road today?

Got the Hyundai inspected and this was outside the shop I patronize.. 89 Crown Vic with 26,000 miles on it. BTW the shop is owned by Ike Johnson who was Jungle Jim’s crew chief back in the day. There is a whole JJ display inside. -
Slogan of the day is, “Don’t forget to turn your clock back at 2am and put new batteries in your smoke detectors!”

Work can be safely accomplished, but the majority of accidents occur during reactive repairs due to equipment failures, which is why companies need to have robust preventive maintenance programs, moving the needle to 75 % proactive and 25% reactive where a lot of companies are exactly the opposite!

Facebook showed me this five year old photo. We were taking the grands to the same Trunk or Treat event, so we recreated the photo. Kids are a wee bit larger!

I had two Raleigh Choppers back in the day! First was an orange on like yours. It got stolen from our basement overnight. I had to save and wait a year before I had the chance to buy a yellow one. I had it stored in my father’s garage and found out he gave it away! That still hurts!

Types of people include those whose primary function on Earth is to turn oxygen into carbon dioxide and beer into urine so it can be safely disposed of in the city sewer

What's with the U.S.Post office these days?
Tom Geiger replied to styromaniac's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
The post office is behind the eight ball these days. With the damage done by the recent hurricanes in the southeast, a lot of their facilities are out of service. And even before that, our local center in West Chester, PA had a bad fire and is out of service. So that means all the other facilities are working overtime to handle the volumes. It doesn't matter where that center is, it's only a plane ride away, if it has capacity. That's why you will see a NJ to CA package suddenly in Maine or Chicago. -
