I wasn't expecting to do any work on this visit so I didn't have any tools with me. I am going to put together a tool box and just leave it there on my next visit!

I hear ya Kurt! Over 40 years of dealing with building departments here! Both corporate and on residential properties I owned. I swear they make stuff up just to mess with ya! Here's my gripe of the day. I was at my daughter's house and she asked me to put up a new towel bar. Of course they have no tools. My son in law hands me a bag with this in it. It does have a drilling template. I tape that to the wall and level it. My daughter approve the position and height. I question that this is really short for a towel rack. My daughter counters that it's just for one hand towel... okay! The hardware provided with this piece is just wrong... made in China of course! The anchors provided are HUGE, and once poked into the wall, they tear the sheetrock between them. The screws provided are longer than the anchors and cannot be fully buried. Those are the holes you see. I search their garage and find a set of anchors / screws that didn't get used on its intended project. I poke new holes and get the darn thing mounted! THEN she says, "Oh! That's the toilet paper bar!" and comes up with a smaller hoop thing she intended for the fricken towel! Now I'm pissed, but I have to swallow it! So I put the toilet paper on it and declare the project done! This morning, with a new attitude I pulled the whole thing down. It appears that the towel ring uses one of the same brackets so I left up the left one, which was screwed into a stud. I filled in all the holes, showing son-in-law how to properly fill them with spackle. He needed that lesson based on the work he and his father previously did and just painted over without sanding! Which brings me to the George Washington's Birthday image I found on the wall! I will be there next weekend and will sand / paint the area. The wall was recently painted so it should match! Did I say Argh!?

What Did You Have for Dinner?

We were at my daughter's on Sunday/Monday holiday. My son in law was supposed to bring pulled pork sliders to a Superbowl party that got cancelled. So he froze everything, and made them for us. So we all had all the pulled port sliders we could eat between yesterday and today! He said we didn't even dent his frozen supply! 🙂 -

My snowblower investment continues to provide dividends! We were warned about colossal snow overnight and this morning.... eh! A little white on the lawn.

Where is Chad with R2 February news?
Tom Geiger replied to Chris in Berwyn's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Here's what I see.... watching the video it's pretty apparent that diecast and sci-fi is paying the bills. Consider that the diecast is sold in every Walmart across the country and you can imagine the numbers! Model cars are being produced because Tom Lowe likes model cars, especially the nostalgic market. Yes, they are chasing the Baby Boomers as we retire. Every day on the boards you see new names of guys who confess they hadn't touched a model in 30 years but want to do this as their retirement project. So the market for the subject matter we like is growing. This market probably has a 10-20 year cycle and Round 2 knows that. I am happy to the point of giddy about the 1965 Barracuda and 1960 Chevy station wagon. The Demon and Duster are just icing on the cake for me. And we know that detailed kits and maybe even variants like a 1966 Barracuda and 1960 El Camino may follow. You can see the detailed kit intent where the under hood details on the prototypes is correct for the cars. And look at the engine plate... single exhaust on the left... could that be an inkling of a Slant Six? R2 already has the tooling for the Lindberg 64s with the best Slant Six ever tooled in 1/25. I can only hope. -

There is a new registration to sell to Germany called LUCID. Sellers need to register for this. eBay may be blocking non complying sellers for all of eBay Europe -
And along with the race, the annual 24 Hour Build starts at noon tomorrow! I will be working on my old favorite AMT 1953 Ford Pickup. Over 225 crazies joined into the challenge. It's fun and some of the folks join the Zoom chat room.

My snowblower repair money has protected the entire county from enough snow to actually use it! Still it's been cold in Eastern PA so we've been going out as little as possible.
