  1. I decided to add a few bits of detailing to this one. Nothing fancy just a shelf model. Lowered the chassis a redid the tin work. Thanks for looking...
  2. Here's a small update. Been working ALOT so I haven't had much time at the bench but I did get these done First, I was on a search for a Lasalle transmission and was told that there was one in the miss deal stud kit. Got it out and broke out the resin casting goodies and whipped one up I added some nut and bolt detail (which isn't showing up to well in the pics). then I started on the body first scratch built body ever. Not too bad but I can see I need to trim the bottom of the body some as the doors appear too tall.... as always comments are welcome..
  3. AHHH sorry I missed that one. THANKS GUYS !!!
  4. Thanks guys. I have the issue of HRD. The guy thats doing my decals is looking for some shots directly from the side of the car. No 3/4 shot so if you have any of those that would be great. I also need a Lasalle tranny. It was in the AWB studebaker funny car kit (miss deal) Any help there would be GREAT!!!!!
  5. I dont even know how to spell PDF. HAHA I can how ever giv you the dementions if you want them?? Hey guys anyone know where I can source a lasalle transmission for this build??
  6. Thats always been a head scratcher to me as to why theres never been a grill option. Glad to see this being addressed. I'm in for at least a case
  7. Wow Thanks guys for all the interest. Here's what I got done today. In a previous life My father and I used to build race car chassis so I was able to put some of those skills to work today.. All Scratch built Chassis Research TE 440 Chassis.
  8. Thanks Rudy. While the article sealed the deal, I have been wanting to build this car for quite some time. I found a few shots of the original a couple years ago and fell in love with it. But with little reference the project went cold. With the latest issue of Hot Rod Delux and following the build thread on the HAMB I had all the reference I needed. I just hope I can do the little car justice...
  9. Thanks Matt. I know you understand my passion for the obscure. I know the car doesnt appear to be much and its certainly not a fire breathing nitro chugging fueler. But without guys like the Hollish's breaking ground with cars like this, guys like John Force would'nt be who they are today..... Gotta preserve history...
  10. Going back to an age of drag racing that is very limited in replica builds. Ive decided to take on the Hollish Bros. Coupe Affectionately name The Outhouse by Art Chrisman. The Hollish Bros. coupe had only ran at a couple of events and and actually won two big meets and set an E.T. record then disappeared never to be seen again. This will be a long build because so many parts (including Decals) will have to be made. The chassis Research TE 440 chassis will be scratch built as well as the 38 Bantam delivery body. Heres the progress so far. I will try the get a little more done on the chassis tomorrow... Just a start.
  11. Scott, You are my hero. I have been wanting to do some engine turned stuff for a while but could'nt figure out how to go about it. THANKS!!!!!
  12. http://www.compresins.com/site/751597/product/CRT-508 Closest I can find...
  13. Yes I picked it up and that was one of the last items I was looking for to get referance pics for the build. I also have a link to a forum that has the build there as well. Im finishing up a Pisano Matsubara Vega F/C so I might be getting started on the Hollis coupe soon. I'll be starting an "in progress" thread on the build. Not sure how much interest in it there will be but Im really excited about building it...
  14. Gary The Hollish Bros. coupe is on my list of cars to build. I am collecting items now to do my best to faithfully replicate the car. I plan to scratch build the chassis and I have a resin body that I believe will work with to reshaping....
  15. Robert Bentley at R.B. Motions makes some really nice simulated machined nuts and bolts too. No web site just a phone number and GREAT service...
  16. thats what I thought Ken. Before I sold off my collection 10 years ago I had searched hard and had just about every kit from the all star series and there were a few. I would love to see a Ramchargers Cuda or even bring back some more of the oldies like the Castronova custom body Dodge. How about Chuck Tanko's speed equipment world Vega, or the Farconas Coil and Minick Chi Town 73 Charger The options are endless. I would think that Revell is reissuing the older F/C kits in order to finance new toolings of other drag cars. I can dream can't I...
  17. HAHA your right, I forgot about the pinto as well as the camaro. I guess I "try" to forget those as the chassis' were completely goofy... Those were some of the very first from the "All Star" series.... Now, Was the mustang ever released as a replica of a real car like the Eastern Raider and the Revellaser as well as the camaro "JJ" car. I don't remember anything like that...
  18. I had posted this same topic over in the general forum here: New Revell Funny Cars But im glad its here too. Im am elated that they are doing this. Revell over the years did MANY funny cars in different dresses. Anyone remember the "All Star Series" that spanned several years covering funny cars as well as dragsters. There were only 6 basic bodies in the series. both 1/16 as well as 1/25th (someone correct me here if Im wrong) In 25th scale A 71-73 vega Later modifed to the 74 on vega. A Demon/Duster body(really no change here just a different grill decal) Monza body And a Charger in 16th scale Early/late Vega body Duster/Demon (same as 25th scale) A Charger A Grand Am I dont remember the monza in 16th scale nor do i remember the grand am in 25th scale Oddly enough no ford bodies at all in either scales. the decal changes and induction changes along with the rear engine swaps from the standard rear and the quick change made it a smart move revell to repack these kits to death ( a good thing for some). then came the more recent ford from revell that I believe is an all new tooling, so It will interesting to see what they do with that one... Harry's comment on licensing bring up some intresting points. I "believe" that with dwindling interest in nascar models, that coupled with the ever rising fees imposed by NASCAR that when Revell pulled out of nascar modeling it freed up some funding to be spent on the ever growing nostalghia drag racing intrests. I may be wrong on the dwindling interest part but Im pretty sure on the rest. I welcome them all and I certainly hope the do extremely well and allows Revell to tool up and sell some other drag kits. Its good to see revell is digging in the way back machine too. IM READY!!!!!
  19. Ive never seen the blue spot putty your talking about but I can tell you this, I FREAKING HATE THE RED PUTTY. I hate how it seperates in the tube and I cant for the life of me figure out how to keep it from seperating in the tube. I'm willing to try anything else beside that stuff....
  20. Sorry about not keeping up with this thread, Im still on board and sent you a PM stating it doesnt matter what part of the build Im assigned to. BUT if no one has clamed it I'll do the motor work or set up the suspension (front and rear) whatever works for the group.... I will say chopping channeling aint my thing and i'll leave those areas to the masters....
  21. Man you guys have been busy lately. Heres my latest haul from CL a few trades from here some buys from our new LHS and some ebay buys... Also bought but not shown were a few sets SLIXX decals and HoK paints.
  22. I officially have a new favorite build AWESOME!!!!
  23. You are correct Jim. Even though those arent the same tires that came in the early All Star series funny car kits, they Should be...
  24. More than that Dave, I would love to see the correct size tires in the kit and a lowered chassis on the reissues but That would take a major commitment from Revell. I'll settle for the straight reissue and more than likely smoothed sidewalls and decals on the sheet.... There's whispers on the net that some of these could be 1/16 scale reissues too....
  25. Dave from what Ive read it looks to be a mix of both. the Chi Town and Hawaiian cars were announced as new tooling earlier this year but some of the others will surely be reissues....
