  1. Very nice, and thanks for the informative post!
  2. Looking cool! Just a quick observation, on your side trim, the incut area (cove?) should extend further forward on the front fender. The incut ends closer to the wheel opening than to the door line. The C-pillar still looks a bit wide to me. Really phenomenal work in a short amount of time!
  3. The "new" size headlamps just didn't get approval in time for the 57 assembly lines to tool up, thus the 58s got 'em.
  4. This is gorgeous! You going to display it like this, or fully finish? Good GAWD I wish someone could re-pop those custom parts trees; those are excellent!
  5. Yeah! GO MAN GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Checked my stash to compare with photo, the frame is the AMT '70 Monte Carlo. Hope that helps. Can't wait to see some more progress!
  7. Check the tops of your rear quarter-panels. the vette appears to have too much upward curvature (arched) over the wheel well. The Impala is much flatter according to the pictures. Looking promising though!
  8. Details, man!!!
  9. Very nicely done! Tasty color combo.
  10. As I'm looking at the last two photos, it occurs to me that you might not want to bother with the 59 parts for the A-pillar, and just scratch build them. At a glance they are similar, but that windshield appears to wrap back even further on the top than a 59 Impala. Another point is that you need a vertical A-pillar. The 59 Chevy angles forward before curving back at the top. Look at the side view you printed to see this. Just curious, but how are you determining the width of the car? Hope my observations are helpful, I really want to see you do this right! This is a great project to take on - GOOOD LUCK!!
  11. Hey kennb, don't know how far along you are with this, but you might save some time if you can lay your hands on one of these kits. Looks like the Impala styling was influential to the guys at Cadillac! The kit is 1/24 scale, from Imex or Arii (shared tooling).
  12. Yeah, this is cool. I love that episode of the Simpsons, and I loved Homer's logic and design process! You did a GREAT job on this, and how can you not love the absurdity and humor of this piece on your shelf?!
  13. Agreed. Now that I look it over, it works well with the body/wheel openings proportions. Any thoughts yet on a color scheme for this bad 57? Can't wait to see the end product!
  14. Beautiful work. I love your attention to detail. Adding the filler panels between bumpers and body is an especially nice bit, and will go a long way towards giving your car that REAL look. More models, especially older kits, can benefit from that touch. Good job!!
  15. Ooh! Roy had a toothpick in his mouth as he smiled for the cameras!!!!
  16. Bold color choices on a handsome car! Nice!
  17. Great looking car. Really nice build! Gotta get this kit...
  18. Lookin' kooooool! Just a thought; since you're going for the stock car look, maybe all four wheels/tires the same size?
  19. That frame looks to be either AMT 67 Impala or 70 Monte carlo. Just an educated guess.
  20. Love it! I've got the exact same project begun, in the rough-in stage. Got the two components cut and super glued together. Thinking about a woodgrain side treatment. I'd love to see how you handled the tail light area. Got a pic?

    Rat Bug

    It works! Nicely done.
  22. The car already has the right stance! How about a decal on the fender that says "Baby", and another one that just say " Hey".
  23. Just beautiful work. I like your taste in colors alot! Personal favorites: 62, 61, and 60 - in that order as far as color goes. What IS that color on the 62?
  24. Like most here, it seems, I think that green really works well on the fastback design! Keep up the good work!
