  1. Relatively simple graphic on a white ground is bold and yet refreshingly clean! Very nice job!
  2. Nicely done, let's see some more!
  3. Subscribed! One of my favorite cars ever.
  4. I accidentally discovered a way to fog clear styrene that might work for you. Spray the inside of your windows with Testors Dullcote, the stuff used by military/aircraft modelers to flatten a painted finished. Works like a charm!
  5. Oh yeah! Building a model for the pure pleasure of it - I'll be watching. This is fun stuff...
  6. Those wheels will not affect my choice to buy two or three of these kits; there's a lot that IS good about it!
  7. Nah, all Martian craft have that feature.
  8. Kudos for taking the time to fix a "finished" model. It really looks THAT much better. Build some more Goats!
  9. Great post! Thank you so much for all the info on correcting this kit. I remember when this kit was released, there was a loud groan over the missing trim, but I never saw such a specific set of corrections! Kudos! I love everything about this build, and am keeping a keen eye on your '59 as well. Thanks again!
  10. Appears to be quite a bit of lens distortion in that test shot pic, where the blue car is a nicely photographed profile.
  11. Perfect period hot rod. Beautiful red!
  12. Looking forward to this one. Subscribed.
  13. Nicely painted; great shine and depth! Bass-boat flake look is kool on old customs, IMO!
  14. Beautiful work, just exemplary. Love the colors, LOVE the fins! Keep it up!
  15. Snake, the comments on the Revell Nova are ripped right outta my mind! I was So disappointed in that kit, and glad I kept my stash of AMT Novas. The lower body line always goofy and overdone, too. AMT really was good at nuances of shape on compound curves, and Revell's recent offerings seem slab-sided and toyish in comparison. The 62 Impala was another let-down for me, with the same "flattened" front and rear ends. AMT did it better. I've heard some try to explain away these faults (and other Revell kits' as well) as being due to the diecast origins of the kits, now being molded in styrene. Doesn't make sense to me that one material can be held to a different standard of quality than the other; either it's an accurate scale representation or it's not. (Looks a little off in plastic, but was a NICE diecast model... WTF?)
  16. That's the right idea. If I might add to this; print out the dash head-on view to the correct scale size, and glue this down to some .060" sheet styrene with some Elmer's glue. This is just to give you the exact location for all the holes to drill out. Drill and clean up all the holes with files/Dremel tool/sandpaper wrapped around dowel, etc. Print another copy and glue on the back side, facing forward, to give you all your gauge faces in correct orientation. Drop some clear epoxy on each to create lenses. Don't be afraid to tackle this, after all that body work!!!

Would never have guessed that. Thanks for the heads-up! It really photographs beautifully.
  18. Hey Snake, just looking at your avatar reminded me that the Homer-mobile from Polar Lights was molded in bright green!

Sweet and swoopy, Ken! Good color, too. Care to share the paint can info; I'd like to pick up a can or two. One problem with the car - it's the wrong scale!
  20. Revell '70 Chevelle snapper ( Wheels of Fire series ) , Dark green metallic
  21. Great detailing in that engine bay. I commend you on your choice of materials for plug wires and hoses. WAY TOO MANY modelers use over-sized wires and hoses and it ruins otherwise nice builds. Your engine bay looks scale perfect; nice job!
  22. Good luck! Keep the progress photos coming, and welcome to the forum. You're going to like it here!
  23. The pic clearly states Mini-lite LOOK-ALIKES by Rocket
