  1. PM me this week, I may be interested in doing some trading, if I have anything you might need. My stash is 60% cars, 30% aircraft, and 10% misc. Lots of Star Trek stuff, but also other SciFi. Let's talk!
  2. I've always wondered how this old kit builds up. Isn't this the one you can often find in Mexican packaging, almost as common as US version?
  3. Needs that clipboard on the fender, a "field repair" on one of the missions. Nice work here.
  4. Love this little guy ever since I saw it in a documentary about Jack Northrup, called "The Wing Will Fly". Good stuff, and a clean build of this kit. Which kit (mfgr) is this?
  5. Love it! This idea could work well eith a slant-6, with the blower mounted at an opposing angle to the block for visual balance, putting the injecor stacks thru the hood at an angle - would have a real Tom Daniel-meets-Dave Deal feel to it.
  6. Man-o-man, when I was a kid, just getting "good" at building models, I would drool over pics of this in the Revell flyers that were stuck in some kit boxes. I thought this was the absolute definition of cool, but alas, it was one of those that remained out of reach. I never saw one in person, and the one time mom came across the kit in a department store, she reported back with the devastating news that sickens every eleven year old kid," ...too expensive." So, I stuck to cars, Aurora dinosaurs, movie monsters, and the occasional airplane. I am loving seeing this come together, and am digging the modernizing/upgrading you are doing. Keep up the good work!
  7. Very tasty color combo!
  8. Why not? What is most unlikely is keeping those old drum brakes instead of discs! Don't forget you need some place for "brain boxes" for the electronic side of that engine, so the firewall could be dressed in some appropriate pieces.
  9. Really coming along nicely; LOVE that color!
  10. Maybe a little late to the game, but didn't the AMT 58 Edsel have a nice continental kit that could be easier adapted to this ride? Or am I off on that...? ( My memory ain't long as it used to be)
  11. Nice! I miss my '66. Really curious what the exterior color is? ( besides 'yellow' ) Your technique on the emblems is very effective and clean. Well done!
  12. Agree with many others that this "just works"! Beautiful proportions make it look like a factory piece. I think the tail end is more attractive than any actual Elky.
  13. Really nice job on this! A white car can be difficult to model; they tend to look too toy-like, but you really captured the look of an actual automobile. I always liked this body style, and thought it deserved a bigger engine. Would be fun to "restify" one with an easy-to-source modern V6/5speed combo under the hood. Beautiful tribute all around.
  14. Owned a Cranberry Red/ black vinylroof '71 myself, so I have a soft spot for red Montes of this body style. This is off to a great start! Watching and waiting...
  15. The whitewalls add a little unexpected elegance! Looking great!
  16. Very nice work! I love the whole concept. I find it's nearly impossible for me to look at the fuselage/pieces of my plane kits without seeing shapes and forms of starships, especially that 1/32 F-15...
  17. The lines on this car would respond beautifully to a Larry Watson style paint job, akin to his famous 58 T-bird. Can't wait to see what you do style-and-color-wise!.Great work so far...
  18. I think the added contrast is an improvement, and will really be accented nicely when the foiling is done. Looking great!
  19. Thanks for all the info! Will keep an eye out here for the links. A tutorial on those plug wires and boots would be most welcome. This is exactly the right place for such technical expertise!
  20. VERY nice work, and thanks for taking the time to do the write-up, and with great photos to boot! You got me wanting to try some of these techniques. BTW, I too use the scale shorthand of " 1mm is 1inch" Close enough for my work! Would it be much trouble for you to post some links to your sources for the materials you're using?
  21. On the question of woodgrain decal, seems like the Rambler station wagon kits re-released in the late 90s or early 2000s had plenty of woodgrain on one of its 3 decal sheets!
  22. This is going to be very informative! Keep it up...
  23. ...then what happened?
