Porsche Carrera GT:Paul Walker Tribute build
PowerPlant replied to Tompidom's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This should be cool... The "Little Bastard", car James Dean was killed in (interestingly, also a Porsche - a 550 Spyder), became hugely popular as a replica after he died... I wonder if we'll start seeing more of these red GT Carreras with black wheels now? I hope your project turns out a nice tribute Are you also going to replicate the car's license plate? Apparently, this photo of Paul getting into the Porsche was taken just moments before the crash occurred... -
Apparently Seth MacFarlane is fed up with the show, and is looking for ways to end it... I stopped following it about two seasons ago, so I'm not too upset to hear this. Like in real life, however, the dog was one of the better characters in that cartoon... Along with Quagmire, of course

http://distractify.com/people/amazing/the-epic-split-featuring-van-damme/ I thought it was CGI at first... Pretty impressive!

Great looking mustang... Nice work on opening the door and trunk-lid
-
Those wheels look great on it! I've also been wanting to get the street version of that Tamiya Porsche just for the wheels and tires, but it sure is a pricey venture since I have no interest in the rest of the kit I'll keep my eye out on this one... Might give me inspiration for my build

Ferrari Aficianados, need your help....
PowerPlant replied to DrKerry's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Unfortunately that Esci kit is quite a dog... I had one, but when I realized how badly off the body was I got rid of it. The grille opening and front bumpers are the wrong shape in a major way, as is the side-view/rear roofline... Since the 250 SWB is one of may favorite Ferrais, I am determined to build one eventually, but hopefully from an Italeri kit, which I hear is much better. It is, however, quite rare and no reissue in sight, especially since Revell failed to do so last year due to some licencing issues with Italeri - apparently As for your other questions, I'm no expert, but I don't think undersides were body color, but black with aluminium/silver details, and, although I think there were no factory cars with a tan interior, I have seen pictures of restored cars with a tan/beige interior. Just google it, there's lots online Good luck with the kit, also... Would like to see it -
Nice build What are the wheels? They suit the car
-
Those graphics are spectacular What colors are those, btw?

I thought we already have a topic on this...

Very tidy Deuce... Zero paints rock, BTW!
-
Very tidy van

I've always liked this car, but find it strange that such an ordinary European car was kitted by Fujimi in 1/25 scale... You did a great job with yours
-
That is one sweet custom Vette, Ken! Great job on replicating the 1:1 car
-
I like where you're going with the brass... Nice hot-rod... I'm sure it would look even better on clearer pics, however
-
That is some truly amazing work, considering how bad this kit is... The fit of those gullwing doors and hood temporarily killed my enthusiasm for this build, but what you have done with yours might just put me back on track. I even purchased the Hobby Design PE set for it, but sure do wish I could put wheels like yours under it! Those are just unreal... Or, rather, real... Well, you know what I mean

Holy cow! I think I'll quit building models... No point anymore, now that I've seen this Astonishing!

Revell's 32 Fords are awesome kits... Yours looks very clean The grille is great!

I've been glancing at your build every once in a while since the start... It is a very interesting WIP you have going here -
Revell 1956 Chevy Delray Street Machine - Update 12-25-2013
PowerPlant replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I just bought this kit recently, so I'll be keeping my eye out on yours as a reference Looks great so far... That air cleaner is something else! -
There are many great reads out there, but two of my all-time favorite novels are "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac and Ken Kesey's "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"... Another good book I've read lately is Kurt Vonnegut's "Slaughterhouse 5"... "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert M. Pirsig is great if you're into philosophy... Otherwise, if looking for a good laugh, I would recommend anything by Bill Bryson

I built one of these a while back for my cousin, who is a huge Fernando Alonso fan... It needs work but it can be built into a nice kit... Shame it doesn't come with tobacco sponsor decals, however... I had to get my Mild Seven decals separately What you're doing with yours looks great so far!
