  1. Paul Hettick is a rare builder. He makes beautiful models, and then sells them. There are several builders here that have those abilities and can build like that, but would never dream of selling a car that nice and with that much work into it. And if they did, it would still take years to build that kind of buying audience.
  2. The '68 Mustang CJ scoop is different than any other year or car. The cars themselves are exceedingly rare and expensive. They bring 100K+ at auction, so everything is relative.
  3. Very nice, proportions are right on the money.
  4. I think the wood looks great, the black wash gives it the look of old wood that's been oiled and finished many times, taken care of over the years like antique furniture.
  5. I like it. The steering wheel looks cool, but without being able to wrap your fingers around the rim at 10 and 2, it wouldn't be very comfortable on longer trips.
  6. Just a great, convincing build. the deep, rusty scale on the bed is perfect.
  7. That goes double for me!
  8. So, so nice. Perfect wheel choice, color, engine, just nailed everything.
  9. Beautiful job Ryan, what a great, cohesive package. Love the stance, exhaust, Optima, and color combo. -Mike
  10. I've been involved with Falcons since 1981 when I got my first one. In all that time, I've never seen a '64 with a factory equipped 289, or a 65 with a factory 260. Comets came with both in '64, and two 289s in '65.
  11. I only needed one. A case would be quite pricey!
  12. That just about couldn't be any nicer.
  13. Gooche is actually a She. From what I've heard, the father died and now the daughter runs the company. I've bought three sheets from ebay, two were great, one was pixellated and not really usable. She apologized and offered a refund. I kept it anyway because nobody else made it. They have a lot of unique decals like that.
  14. If the testimonial of absolutely everybody on this site who has ever bought anything from them at any time in the last 25 years isn't good enough, then I don't think pictures would be either.
  15. I think I ripped that from Cavallino.com.
  16. Came yesterday from Greenlight/GMP. Very nice. They eliminated the retracting seat belt feature, and the 1/4 windows have the black painted on the outside instead of the inside, but all other GMP features are there. -MJS
  17. Proposed 18 inch setup. 70% of fans preferred them.
  18. Great idea on having both kits. I learned to drive in the family '79 LTD-S (single headlights) wagon. A stock version could be built as a police, fire chief, coroner, service, news crew, race team hauler, family car with Airstream, and a zillion other possibilities. The Truckster parts would be a nice bonus. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening. I'm building a 1:1 Bluesmobile as we speak (It's been taking up a lot of time lately) So no surprise how I feel about a 1:25 kit. No way on the shared chassis, a box Panther with a torsion bar front end is just wrong - and the kind of move that gets kit companies in hot water in the hobby. A one piece chassis, a la promo style with no engine detail would be better, although full detail is always best. Also, for these two to share a chassis, one would have to be under or over scale, as the C barge Monaco is considerably wider than the Panther. -MJS
  19. Beautiful job, I don't recall ever seeing this kit built. Too bad, it's impressive.
  20. Sorry for the delayed response Christian. I can view pictures on any other thread, but none of Dominik's hosted photos. His linked pictures in the last post are visible. The reason is that his image hosting site was flagged by my Sophos anti-virus as infected. I didn't want to go charging in there after seeing that. It's unfortunate, as I have a friend who wants me to build a '57 wagon when they come out in that light pea green and white combo. -Mike
  21. Leepu's taste is definitely out there. This Camaro is tame compared to some of the cars he built in London with Bernie from Classic Car Rescue. I like this show because they show a decent amount of actual mechanical work being done to the cars, unlike a lot of "car" shows. I didn't think that this genre of program could get worse than Counting Cars, which has 44 minutes of insipid tripe with 45 seconds to one minute of car work. Then Lost in Transmission came along, to mount a challenge for last place.
