  1. I'd like to see the Corvette America backdated to a '68-'69 L-88. What a cool phantom that would be.
  2. I've never seen a '80-'81 Cobra without the flat black lower body paint. The bittersweet Recaros would be a strong "maybe". They were available in regular Mustangs through '81, and I've seen them in '82 GTs in the Pace Car black/white stutter stripe pattern as factory equipment. Recaros in a Vaquero interior, (orangy brown) '81 Cobra. Wedgewood blue:
  3. Like many/most MPC kits of the day, this one is a little confused about exactly what it is. It purports to be an '82 GT, a milestone Mustang, without actually saying it. The last year for that series of Cobras was '81, which is the year that would have had the 4.2/255 V8. Since the 4.2 and the 302/5.0 both were dimensionally identical, the engine could be called either. The kit comes with the Cobra/recycled pace car hood cowl, but also the '82 GT scoop - so it can be built as either.. but it lacks the Cobra graphic decals so an '82 GT 5.0 would be the best bet. Most of the ones I remember seeing were medium red with a sunroof and TRX wheels. Nice looking cars.
  4. That's a '58. Never seen a '58 Ford with a '57 Chevy front bumper before.
  5. Another smooth trade with Al (thatz4u).
  6. Fantastic job. Love the color combo, and the Cammer is perfect. I like the wheels too, that dull gold is the color that many real magnesium wheels started out as, and they look the part. The only thing I would do (as has been suggested) is to move the front wheels out just a little closer to the fenders.
  7. Paul Hettick is a rare builder. He makes beautiful models, and then sells them. There are several builders here that have those abilities and can build like that, but would never dream of selling a car that nice and with that much work into it. And if they did, it would still take years to build that kind of buying audience.
  8. The '68 Mustang CJ scoop is different than any other year or car. The cars themselves are exceedingly rare and expensive. They bring 100K+ at auction, so everything is relative.
  9. Very nice, proportions are right on the money.
  10. I think the wood looks great, the black wash gives it the look of old wood that's been oiled and finished many times, taken care of over the years like antique furniture.
  11. I like it. The steering wheel looks cool, but without being able to wrap your fingers around the rim at 10 and 2, it wouldn't be very comfortable on longer trips.
  12. Just a great, convincing build. the deep, rusty scale on the bed is perfect.
  13. That goes double for me!
  14. So, so nice. Perfect wheel choice, color, engine, just nailed everything.
  15. Beautiful job Ryan, what a great, cohesive package. Love the stance, exhaust, Optima, and color combo. -Mike
  16. I've been involved with Falcons since 1981 when I got my first one. In all that time, I've never seen a '64 with a factory equipped 289, or a 65 with a factory 260. Comets came with both in '64, and two 289s in '65.
  17. I only needed one. A case would be quite pricey!
  18. That just about couldn't be any nicer.
  19. Gooche is actually a She. From what I've heard, the father died and now the daughter runs the company. I've bought three sheets from ebay, two were great, one was pixellated and not really usable. She apologized and offered a refund. I kept it anyway because nobody else made it. They have a lot of unique decals like that.
