  1. Such a diverse collection of fine cars, it doesn't look like there is anything you won't build. -MJS
  2. Beautiful job, the nicest, (and possibly only) one of these I've seen built. It's nice to see the pinstripe detail in the bumper/side trim, a detail usually overlooked on early Foxes. -MJS
  3. These could be in most any museum. -MJS
  4. ...and those aren't just regular pedestrians. -MJS
  5. It looks like a '47 Ford in much the same way as a '47 Plymouth looks like a '47 Ford. -MJS
  6. Very nice job. Clean, well detailed, and the stance and wheel placement is absolutely perfect. Tough looking truck. -MJS
  7. The '64 Falcon 260s had black block, heads, and intake with blue valve clovers and air cleaner. Not Ford corporate blue, but a lighter shade. The '65 289 was as in the model, black engine with gold valve covers/air cleaner, and the '66-up engines were all Ford corporate blue. -MJS
  8. Looks Great Steve, I bought this one new and still have it. I'm sorta familiar with them. -MJS
  9. Most gas dusters are Difluoroethane, which is produced by the mercury-catalyzed addition of hydrogen fluoride to acetylene. It is a refrigerant, called HFC-152a, and you can use this stuff to charge your auto A/C system instead of R-134a. Which are all good reasons to not spray it on clear plastic. -MJS
  10. Not without it's problems, but a nice model. -MJS
  11. You should see their '61 Comet wagon... -MJS
  12. Here's one that comes to the local weekend car show. It's mint, and modestly lowered on Astros and pinners. This is what you do to a classic Riv. -MJS
  13. Fantastic, super original, love the engine bay detailing. -MJS
  14. Yes, all generations of fastback were available with six cylinders. -MJS
  15. I know that this thread is four years old, but if you have detailed your chassis to include brake and fuel lines, e-brake cables and linkages, wiring and other features, you are going to want that judge to look at the underside to determine that it's better than the car next to it with the same quality paint job and none of the underside attention. -MJS
  16. Another way of looking at kit expenditures is considering what money you use to pay for them. Money from a pay check that is budgeted for bills and the cost of living in general feels much different than using "found" money. A couple of years ago, I hauled a few old Ford C4 transmissions out of a yard for free. A couple of weeks ago, I pulled a bell housing off of one, cleaned it, bead blasted it, and put it on Craigslist for $75. It sold in one day, and was sent to Milwaukee. Seems everybody knows about the national craigslist search engines. So that's basically seventy-five bucks for free, doesn't affect the bills, bring on the Super Duty kit. -MJS
  17. Great style, paint, well... everything, really. The decals are amazing, what I wouldn't do to be able to generate graphics like that. -MJS
  18. I hear it's going to have working SYNC with MyFord Touchâ„¢. -MJS
  19. Thank you Mike. I've owned it for almost 27 years now. Thanks Larry. It's a 1960, first year for the Comet/Falcon. It is based on the Falcon chassis, with the wagons being the same wheelbase as the Falcon wagons and sedans at 109.5". The Comet sedans had a five inch longer wheelbase at 114.5", but their chassis was otherwise the same. My Comet 2dr wagon uses the same 1/4 panels as the Ranchero and Falcon 2dr wagon, which shows just how closely related the cars are. The midsize Fairlane, introduced in 1962, had a chassis with a similar layout, but everything was different and nothing interchanged with the Falcon/Comet. -MJS
  20. You sure about that? My avatar car is in my garage: -MJS
  21. The price may not dissuade modelers who are interested in the subject from buying them, but it will be a factor in how many they buy. Under fifty - I'll buy two. Over fifty - one. -MJS
  22. In the original Wild Hoss issue, they were not chromed. -MJS
  23. Here is their standard gray wire. In the package, it does look a little thin, but on a stocker, it looks right. -MJS
