  1. Oddjobs' was a six cyl plain jane '64. Easy to kitbash, though the hubcaps are different than '65s and were never in a kit. I got my Ranchero a few days ago, $45.35 to my door. Ebay can be good sometimes. -MJS
  2. Villa was ambushed and assassinated on July 20, 1923, while driving his black 1919 Dodge Brothers roadster on an errand to Parral. -MJS
  3. I find that you can paint the Cycolac with hotter paints, even the Duplicolor cans, (but airbrushed) and they don't destroy it like what happens with styrene. I've restored several promos that way. -MJS
  4. What did he put that car together with? Wooden dowels? -MJS
  5. Our neighbors in Boston (Newton Center) had one in the late '60s, it was blue/blue, dog dish caps, and three on the tree. Very interesting Olds that got no attention at all in those days. -MJS
  6. I recently built a real one, and ironically, it was the same color combo as your model originally. Very neat truck, but leg room left something to be desired. The model looks great. -MJS
  7. I have an AMT Bigfoot built as a promo-style 2wd truck. I got it from a guy who used all the 2wd stuff in the kit, parts box wheel backs, hubcaps from the Econoline van kit, and old MPC whitewalls to give it more of an F-150 look. It's still unpainted, molded in Big Foot blue. The builder waxed the plastic out to make it shiny like a promo. Still looks pretty good cleaned up. -MJS
  8. That looks almost exactly like the '86 Eddie Bauer that my Dad bought new. One of the most fun vehicles he ever had. -MJS
  9. The only body parts common to the two cars are the roof, cowl, and A pillars. The windshield is the same, unsure of the rest of the glass. It would be a lot of work to replicate the Cutlass. -MJS
  10. Love it. I really go for big, plain, American sedans with big engines and dog dish hub caps. Lots to build from lately, plastic and resin both. -MJS
  11. Fantastic job on a very nice looking little kit, Steve. The scripts actually did go there on the cars with the optional 66H two tone trim that came with two tone paint. Let's just call this one a factory variation. -MJS
  12. Next, you should build a Malibu with a rat motor in it. -MJS
  13. There have been times when I wish there were... -MJS
  14. Gregg, Modelhaus makes a replica annual kit/promo grille for the '65 Falcon, it wasn't perfect either but it was the right shape. Headlight rings are a bit heavy. A MCG photoetch kit with grille, scripts, fender 289 emblems, etc would be nice. And yes, the uprights in the grille are painted flat black from the factory. The gas cap is correct: It has a round recess so it twists on and off normally. -MJS
  15. I noticed that. Not cool. I cut mine down to faces so I could use the Monogram wheel backs to make the car roll. -MJS
  16. From this slightly larger, but still kinda vague shot, I must say it's looking quite accurate. I just might have to obtain one. -MJS
  17. I wish they had a better pic than that tiny one on their site. Better still, several pics. -MJS
  18. The grille is too concave, which is the right shape for the '64 grille but not the '65. I might swap it for the AMT grille if it's close to fitting. -MJS
  19. Very cool project, lots of really nice working details. Eager to see it finished. -MJS
  20. One of Norm's greatest products are the Mustang LX 10 hole wheels, which come with photo etched center caps for either Ford or Thunderbird. They have been out for over 20 years now. -MJS
  21. So rare you see one built stock too. -MJS
  22. As the owner of a real 1:1 ugly coupe, I really couldn't care less what he says. -MJS
