  1. I've got one of these. I'm combining it with the 39 chevy street rod kit.
  2. Lookin' GOOD!! Nice to see some vans in here!
  3. Does this help? It might not be the right date, but it might be close. Check page 15: http://hudsonsuper6.tripod.com/1927HudsonMechSpecs.pdf
  4. Excellent and timely tip. I've got one coming up I needed to tub out and this is perfect. Thanks!
  5. Looks fantastic. The engine details are excellent.
  6. I got a set of these for the Revell AM DB4. They're kinda tricky, but they look nice. You should notice on both the sprues and the plate of PE parts that everything is numbered. I would recommend a toothpick and superglue around the inside edges of the main plastic wheel assemblies. There should be a lip on the sides of parts H-1, H-2, H-4 and H-5 with a little key that should match the small indentation in the edges of the PE parts.
  7. Good Job! Very nice looking kit. I gotta get one of these.
  8. The new wheels look much better with the body shape. Very cool custom!
  9. You might also try "green stuff" sold by Games Workshop for their Warhammer minis mixed 50-50 with Milliput, it makes a putty that sticks where you need it and hardens nicely. They're both just 2 part epoxy putties, but they have some different properties. Milliput tends to be too brittle and doesn't stick well. Green stuff sticks great and is flexible, but doesn't sand and file well. A 50-50 mix is perfect. Used this to fix the trunk lid on my 48 Chevy that was not-so-pro opened.
  10. Very nice! Need to get one of these.
  11. Man, so realistic! Looks like you could hop in and drive off.
  12. Have to say, I like the chrome wheel from the first pic. Seems to fit better. Keep going!!
  13. Going for a more stock look? I want to get one of these.
  14. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the tip!
  15. I've got two of their kits in the works. I've got the '78 Monte Carlo and the '60 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. Both are pretty nice, but there are flaws. The Chevy's engine is really bad and looks nothing like the 1/1, and the floorpan looks like a cheap plastic toy (the frame is AWESOME, though). Fortunately I picked up an '86 MC SS kit cheap at Hobby Lobby to help with some of the details. The Bonneville looks much better and I'm actually intimidated by some of the details, like the PE hood hinges. Biggest problem I've got with both of them is opposite what someone said about the Hornet kit. The markings and badges are almost too light on both, and the scripts on the Monte are just trash. I filed them off and I'm going to use the set for the '77. Keep an eye on Ebay, though. Got both of them for around $20-25 each, including shipping.
  16. Very Nice! I love the wheels on this body style.
  17. Looks good! I really like the interior.
  18. 1/64 is Hot Wheels/Matchbox size. Maybe about 2 inches long at the most?
  19. Gorgeous job, very classy looking.
  20. Clear parts adhesive works really well too. Very good tip!
  21. Very Sharp!!
  22. Looks good to me. I can't see any issues.
  23. The only problem I ran into while building it was i dropped one of the windshield wipers while building it (they are tiny, fiddly little pieces). I replaced them with PE parts, but didn't realize until after I took the pictures that I had knocked one of them off while dusting and it was lying on the fender. I already glued it back on.
  24. It was surprising how close the tolerances were on this kit. The frame almost snaps into the floor pan and will hold without glue or any pressure. The PE parts were nice. It's unbelievably detailed and just screams to have wiring and hoses fitted. Galaxie outdid themselves on it.
  25. This one is a bit more recent. It has to be the most complicated kit I've ever built. I got it used off Ebay, but the person I had bought it from had tried to open the trunk; badly. It took a bit to fix it. I almost built it with an opening trunk, but couldn't get the hinges right. I'll leave that for a later kit. It went together like a dream, though. The paint is Testor's Ice Blue metallic. Everything else is brush painted. Wish I had left the windows open so you could see the interior better. This was after I had gotten more experience with foiling and clear coats.
