  1. Discount Drug Mart here has a kind of a nice model section in their toys section. I picked up a couple of kits from their clearance. Got an Amigo Pack 96 Impala SS, a metal body Chrsyler Crossfire and an 89 cougar. None were more than $10 each.
  2. the avatar and name I use are from a character from a Champions RPG I played years and years ago. Fortunately since Champions is now an MMO, I've got him in a more live version.
  3. I've bought most of them on Ebay, some from Hobby Lobby and some from other online retailers. I generally buy my supplies from one of the local LHS or Hobby Lobby/Michaels. Sometimes supplies come from more exotic sources, like Blick Arts & Crafts or even the local office supply.
  4. I like where you're going with this. Keep it up!
  5. I got a pressure cooker, will that work? Just kidding. I'll probably just use a slow setting clear.
  6. Pliers and brute strength. Once in a great while it'll take 2 sets of pliers; one for the cap and one for the bottle. Just don't squeeze too hard. I've ended up punching a hole in the cap once or twice if it was something I was going to use a very limited amount of and was going to replace soon after.
  7. I've never had this problem with tires eating into plastic/clear parts. Thanks for the warning, though.
  8. I actually want one of these. I'd be willing to try and scratchbuild the drivetrain and suspension. Sounds like fun.
  9. Nice job salvaging such a glue bomb. Your paint job is awesome.
  10. I got a full detail one of these on order from HLJ. You're doing good work on this one!
  11. I like the top one better. I think it fits the lines of the nose a lot better. good work. I love the artillery wheels.
  12. Looking really good so far. I like the wheel combo with that body style. Nice work!
  13. This is an awesome conversion. I love it! Keep going.
  14. I'm working on casting a few things I need. Mostly clear headlight pieces to replace those cheap chromed ones, and some clear tail lights. I got the molds made, just have to get the time to cast.
  15. Very Pretty! Nice job!
  16. Wow, looks really good. What scale?
  17. If it's clear red, the only way to get rid of the color would be to cast it and make it out of clear resin.
  18. Both of the Escorts were from my MIL. I bought a 4 door hatchback from her, then when it crapped out she gave us her old wagon. The wagon got a lot of abuse and eventually fell apart. These were all 1:1 cars. I'm going to model as many as I can. The Cadillac is going to be rough.
  19. Just whatever I see that trips my trigger. Sometimes it's just a bargain that catches my eye, sometimes I go looking for a specific car to "scratch an itch".
  20. Want a list in order? first car: 1972 Buick Skylark with a 350, 2 barrel (rusted out) 1978 Plymouth Volare with a Slant 6 (had the "performance" 2 barrel carb) (POS car, too many problems to mention) 1977 Olds Cutlass, 350, 4 barrel (blew both head gaskets) 1978 Monte Carlo, 305 2 barrel (spun out the main bearings) 1969 Dodge A108 van, Slant 6 (sabotage) 1991 Ford Escort, 4 cylinder (transmission died) 1992 Ford Escort wagon, 4 cylinder (wore out/wrecked) 1990 Ford Crown Victoria, 5.0L FI (wore out/wrecked) 1998 Cadillac Deville Concours, 4.6L Northstar (cause it was a Northstar) 2009 Chevy Malibu LS, 2.4L Ecotec (current) How's that? Makes modelling the 1:1's a little difficult on some of them.
  21. Looks really sharp. I've got one of the IMC '48's in almost the exact color scheme. Yours outdoes mine, though.
  22. Neat concept, I like it.
  23. I made my paint stand. Bought a wooden plaque from Hobby Lobby and some heavy gague copper rods. drilled 2 holes on each corner and bent the rods into a U shape and inserted them into the holes on the plaque. the rods are stiff enough to hold a body and will bend to adjust to about any size I need. Good Looking Nova so far, by the way!!!
  24. Did a lot of chrome repair on the Red Baron kit with BMF. It's actually REALLY hard to tell those pieces aren't chromed.
