  1. I'm in the same boat. I got out for about 20 years and just recently got back into building cars. There's a lot to learn, but I'm having more fun than ever.
  2. MCG generally includes a set or two on each fret. I've got PE sets for the 60 pontiac, 53 ford and 77 Monte Carlo and they all came with keys. I'm just not bored enough to use them yet.
  3. "Gimme All Your Lovin'" is what I keep getting on this post.
  4. I'm hoping the California Roller isn't too bad. I have one of those in my stash. :/
  5. The Lil' Coffin is a finicky kit. It's really nifty looking once it's together, though. I need to get another one of those. Revell is doing a reissue of the Boot Hill Express, hopefully they'll do that one as well.
  6. As soon as I get some issues ironed out, I'll post pics of my Monte Carlo.
  7. Okay, I'm probably beating a dead horse here but I think I'm done building Trumpeter kits. The Bonneville wasn't bad other than some little detail issues and was pretty decent overall. There were some things that were chromed that shouldn't have been, and some that weren't chromed that should have been, but overall not terrible. The 78 Monte Carlo, on the other hand, is an abomination. The engine/transmission was so poorly designed that it was completely unusable. The interior was okay except for the dash, which was as bad as the engine. I swapped engine, exhaust, dash and steering column and parts of the frame from the Revellogram 86 Monte Carlo SS. I've got the chassis in the body now, but it doesn't go in correctly and leaves about 1/8 to 1/16 of the inner front fender well sticking out below the fender openings. I'm going to try and adjust the fit to see if it'll go in there better. And it's got a stance like a 4x4, even without the goofy little tires.
  8. I like it! Very nice!
  9. maybe some oddballs, like a 59 Buick Invicta or a 61 Plymouth?
  10. Channel locks and bear strength.
  11. Typically, white glues like Elmers dry clear, especially thinned as it would be in this case.
  12. Very nice work!

  14. I was doing a set of custom decals for the Enterprise and the set came with instructions to use a solution of a couple of drops of white glue in water to help stick them down. I painted the white glue/water solution down first, then placed the decal, then painted with solvaset. The decals went on like a dream. You might try something similar.
  15. Ummmm.... Kickstarter project to get you going?
  16. A Fosse kit could've been funny. Jazz Hands!
  17. I wish I had Velocity. I loved this show and watched all of the re-runs. Always makes me want to rebuild a car.
  18. Castrol Super Clean should have been in the Automotive section, usually in a big box store or auto parts store. The LA's Totally Awesome stuff is usually at dollar stores. Also heard of using bleach, and I generally use brake fluid.
  19. Glad to see Moebius is driving a little bit of a kitting war between the manufacturers. Maybe it'll spark some new subjects, like old Mopar.
  20. Very nice work!
  21. Gorgeous little bug! Nice job!
  22. Really nice work! I gotta get another one of the Henry J gassers.
