  1. There's a few in this series: "Der Guber Wagen" which is the one you've got "T-Bone Stake" was a stake bed type pickup "Meter Cheater" was a cab with luggage "Moon Mixer" was a little cement mixer with an Apollo theme "Patent Pending" was a C-cab van street rod. All of them have Corvair engines in the rear.
  2. Very nice job!
  3. After looking at the instructions online, I may have to get one of these to open up.
  4. Is there any information on when the 62 corvette is going to be released?
  5. I think I've read that the topics that are locked are locked by the forum admins. Typically because someone made an offensive comment, or the whole subject was dodgy in the first place.
  6. Lindberg made a really nifty kit of the pickup in a 1/20 scale, but I don't think anyone made the Blazer
  7. Looks like a nice kit. So I understand it's full detail, but the hood doesn't open?
  8. Looks like that might be a supercharger. This kit is definitely going to be a must-have. Revell's really outdoing themselves lately. May have to have all 3 of the new kits.
  9. Very nice. You can definitely see the resemblance to the finished Batmobile.
  10. I figure the laptops and cameras we lost went to Craigslist. Pawn Shops in our area are supposed to check serial #'s with the police, and we still had the serial #'s for everything.
  11. Nice work!
  12. I've found the Testors lacquer primer is plenty able to handle automotive paints. I've used Duplicolor paints on 3 kits now and they've all come out really well. Make sure you're using a primer specifically for lacquers or the whole thing will craze.
  13. I'd venture to guess licensing is probably one of the bigger hurdles. Even though these are older tools, I'm sure the manufacturers want their share of the profits before any kits are ever sold.
  14. I like it, overall. The wheels and tires are fine. Personally, I get tired of the big, goofy billet pro touring look on everything. Good looking vehicle.
  15. We went through this about 6 months ago. My wife and I came home and found our back door kicked in. We found that the thieves had taken both of our laptops, both digital cameras, a portable hard drive that had backups of my music (main library is on the desktop that they didn't touch), and assorted jewelry including a fairly valuable ring. I ended up taking the next day off work to settle with the insurance company. Hopefully your insurance will come through like ours did. We reported the break-in on thursday and I had a check in my hand for the settlement on saturday. I still haven't replaced my digital camera, and the jewelry was irreplaceable, but it was just stuff. Unfortunately it was the second time we've been broken into, so our sense of safety is shot. As soon as we can, we're going to move. I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Hopefully you and your family are okay.
  16. The IMC/Testors 48 fords have a really nice flathead.
  17. So it's a large scale Dustbuster?
  18. Planning to be there. Oh, finished the build of the Trumpeter Monte last night except for the PE details. There's still some issues, like the inner fender wells show at the edges of the fender openings a little and it has the stance of a truck. But I'm still mostly happy with it. Since the car it's depicting was a disaster in real life, I'll accept it.
  19. quick question. How much does the whole piece weigh so far. I know aluminum's light, but it's still gotta be heavier than the original kit engine.
  20. Yup, it's the VW van. I've seen a couple of people on here that have done improved hinges for the doors like that type of van, so that shouldn't be too bad. I'd already planned on replacing the goofy CB insignia on the nose. Might see what it would look like without it, or I'll scratch build one. I'm also planning on replacing the wheels and tires.
  21. I'm in the same boat. I got out for about 20 years and just recently got back into building cars. There's a lot to learn, but I'm having more fun than ever.
