  1. Have tons of them. As soon as I get the chance, I'll post pictures. Used to have more, but I tried to "grow up" for a while and gave them to my nephew, so those are gone now. kinda like what I did with my car models.
  2. Life in general. Seems like everything gets in the way.
  3. Here's a thought. I've seen where people use the Sharpie markers to do amber turn signals and brake lights. I wonder if using them on chrome would work for that too? Might have to try it on some scrap just to see what happens.
  4. Fantastic work. Are you going to sell this kit?
  5. I use Evian bottle tops and coke bottle tops together. The older Evian tops had a longer lead before the thread started, so they would snap tightly onto a coke bottle cap (pepsi works too, but I drink more Diet Coke). The new ones don't work, unfortunately. They're great for storing mixed paints. They'll keep airtight for weeks.
  6. That's a nifty tip. Thanks!
  7. I've used Duplicolor a few times so far and haven't run into any problems. It does go on flat, but the clear coat takes care of it.
  8. AMT. Got one at home, waiting to be built.
  9. I appreciate that it's fast and handles well. For me, if a car's going to cost over half a million dollars, it should also look the part. I can easliy see why the Bugatti Veyron is over a million, and the various Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, etc. But all of those cars are also beautiful. This thing is a flat black soccermom car on steroids. And I thought the Juke was hideous when it came out.
  10. I'm not normally into commercial vehicles, but I so want one of these. Looks like you're going to do a great job.
  11. the white Milliput is a little crumbly for that. I ususally use a mix of the white milliput and games workshop's "green stuff". The green stuff is more flexible and sticks better but it's too soft on its own, the white hardens better but it's crumbly and doesn't stick well.
  12. I ususally use a 50-50 mix of gloss and flat black. comes out perfect.
  13. Brake fluid? And the Testors clear parts adhesive is really good.
  14. gorgeous job! I gotta get one of these.
  15. Very nice! I like the color combination.
  16. Okay, maybe I'm weird, but CA doesn't work on me like that. I've glued my fingers together multiple times and it just peels right off. I've tried all the major brands and had the same results.
  17. I've used the embossing powder on a couple of kits so far. I used brushed-on dullcote as a base and it seemed to work just fine.
  18. I've been using BMF when possible. The sharpie doesn't do it for me.
  19. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought of that. Stunning model. Your work is awesome!
  20. Have an accoustic guitar and so want to learn, just haven't had the chance to pick it up. Have gotten a lot better with Guitar Hero/Rock Band, though.
  21. Let's see.... was carving some excess putty off a salvage kit using an actual scalpel (was a kid and didn't own an Xacto, but had some family that was in various medical professions). the putty gave suddenly and I very nearly took the tip of my finger off with the scalpel. That took a while to heal, although not as long as when I carved into the other hand with my pocket knife cutting a hose on my real van. recently I cast some clear parts using acrylic. I set the can on the floor tightly closed with a plastic cover over the top (plastic cover also keeps the hardener with the can). Somehow as time went by the can got knocked over. It leaked a little of the resin onto the carpeting and has since dried. So much for the security deposit. I'll post more if I remember them.
  22. Suggestion to Moebius: How about picking up a lot of the lost kits from Jo-Han? Personally, I'd love to have one of the 60 Desotos or any of the odd 50's cars no one seems to produce. I'd venture to guess that they started with both of these since they're both licensed by Chrysler. Not complaining at all.
  23. Very nice build. Awesome job on the details.
