  1. I believe it's a very early k model.
  2. I live in northern Indiana might of seen it on US6, US30 or I80 coming out of Gary area. Long hood 9500s were popular with steel haulers and suprisingly many had Cummins power rather than Detroit.
  3. Very popular truck with steel haulers in my area years ago. That one actually looks familiar.
  4. MAN engine from an Italeri kit
  5. Being there was more than one truck used for filming the color of the buttons could be both green and brown. One truck had a vt903 and another had a small cam 350 I remember for sure. Many people missed the show during its original airing because it was opposite Happy Days.
  6. first gear replicas makes tons of 1/34th scale diecast ones
  7. Simple nut and bolt construction any one with modeling or rc experience can handle them. Huge hobby in Europe gaining ground in the USA and down under.
  8. There was strong after market for thes kits years ago in Australia maybe Auslowe don't remeber but there was an 8v92 detroit spoke wheels roo bars etc
  9. Built many of them over the years great kits! Wish AMT would have done more 1/43 scale trucks.
  10. The cab n hood on the LN/LNT 8000 are the same as the LN/LNT 9000 as far as heavy goes and yes many short hood Louisvilles had 6v92s Roadway and other big ltl fleets had lots of them. Nice work so far.
  11. Seen an artist rendering portrait of this truck on the wall at the Western Star dealer in Evansville Indiana about 7 yrs ago. Thought it was neat then now it's real I really like it. Something for Moebius to consider? Bet there will be diecast soon for certain.
  12. Actually you can see by some of the posted pics that kit is half of a Michigan gravel train. The parts for the tandem dolly are in the original release. Also included were the parts to make a dump bed for a tandem or triaxle dump truck then with a second kit you could build a trailer with dolly to pull behid the dump truck for what's called a short train. Of course MPC/Ertl meant for you to use the Dm 600/800 kits in front of it.
  13. Sleep apnea testing is not a mandatory part of the dot physical period. I don't need to read anything closer. If you've already have history of apnea you may require further testing but otherwise you're not required to be tested for it to pass you're physical period. 391.41 ( (5) makes no mention specifically of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea testing is not required by any law period. If a carrier or clinic says you need to be tested by law with out a history they're are wrong. I don't know how else to convince you sleep apnea testing is not a mandatory part of a dot physical. I guess after 30 years of seeing know it alls come and go like the wind and knowing truck drivers can be the biggest lying bu** sh***ers on the planet I shouldn't be surprised at yet another drivers story gone wild. I guess ignorance is bliss Good Day
  14. No it's not read Landline magazine May 2014 page 24. I've been a driver and O/O for 30 years I keep up on these things. Many carriers and clinics have got it wrong. The federal motor carrier administration is silent on sleep apnea testing. Because of a few rumors a lot of people have got it wrong. In fact last year congres.s passed a bill preventing the FMCSA from implementing any such rules. I know it will do no good to present facts to you but you are incorrect. This is a modeling forum there are plenty of trucking forums for to you bs on. Might I suggest the Truckers Report.
  15. FYI total bull. The FMCSA has no such regulation. Apnea testing is NOT legally required no matter your bmi or neck size. Look it up federal motor carrier safety regulations 393.41 section b no mention of apnea testing. No new laws have been passed either. If a motor carrier requires apnea testing as part of thier DOT physical it's their requirement as a condition of employment not a DOT requirement.I most certainly do not trust the government but misinformation helps no one. Big brother is actually doing plenty with out making stuff up.
  16. Yes but its extensive work. The correct style is available in resin.
  17. Actually when Ford quit the heavy buisness Freightliner ended up with their cab design. The modern Sterling is a Ford cab on a Freightliner chassis. Freightliner had connections to the real Sterling from their time as part of White who aqquired the real Sterling many years ago.
  18. The blue and white DR tractor you posted is identical to it exept the stacks were behind the bunk same color and all
  19. No pics unfortunatly. Truck was very similar to AMT's kit.
  20. friend of mine had them on the drives of a 71 diamond reo. only ones I ever saw on drives.
  21. The 250 Cummins from the AMT freightliner is close in appearance to Cummins engines that would have been available in that model of Federal.
