  1. The series 60 Detroit Diesel in this kit is nice it also dates the version of 378 as Detroit became a Freightliner only thing around 01 or 02. As everyone says Tim is the man when it comes to Peterbilt. Enjoy your build.
  2. Great info as always on Petes from Tim.
  3. Bout time one of the most popular vehicles was modeled. Hard to believe so few F series pu's were put out in model form. For that matter pick ups in general and where are all the diesel pu's to haul car trailers. Another homerun for Moebius!
  4. You are correct on the 1160 cat it is the fore runner to the 3208 which wasn't out yet at the time of AMT's Louisville issue. And yes it is NTC 350 or commonly the small cam 350 at the time a fairly big horse.
  5. Yes it would. The twin turbo 475 came out in in the early 80s the big cam 1 came out in the late 70s the small cam was phased out with intrduction of the big cam engines. The tt475 unfortunatly was plagued with problems like the 444 and wasn't produced very long. The 444 xt was an improved version which eventually evolved into the n 14.
  6. Italeri Flc and ltl 9000 have a big can 4 Cummins ROG petes and k100s have a twin turbo 475 Cummins AMT astros and titans all 8v71 dd
  7. Cool good pic shows the angle of the air bag.
  8. There seems to be many options for Cummins beige. Just a side note Peterbilt and Kenworth prior to about 1980 all engines installed were painted white. International prior to the mid 80s all engines were red and Ford prior to the early 80s were blue. Everybody else seemed to go with engine manufactuers colors. The milatary section of model paints is a good place to look for a match.
  9. The engine in the WS kit is the same as the DR and road boss. It's a Cummins small cam NTC 350. Tan (really beige) is correct the colors Fat Brian mentioned are good. I don't know about your part of the world but here in the US a lot of the chain auto parts stores carry Cummins beige in spray cans as well as other engine colors. The 4b Cummins Fat Brian posted a pic of is the correct color your looking for.
  10. Just what I was thinking Ben. That suspension would be nice in resin as the AMT k 100 would be ideal for it
  11. I see that found a pic of the Bosses hauler on Aol image search it has it too.
  12. Good pics on straightstack.com under early kw air ride.
  13. Found a good shot on youtube it's a KW 4 bag air ride that predated the ag 100. It was available late 60s to mid 70s. A lot of Canadian trucks used with the Canadian 60" spread on their tandems. Not sure what it was called but it could be modeled with a little effort.
  14. I've tried to find a good pic to see but haven't found one. Looks like someone stretched her out with a cut off. That appears to be an early ag 100 but would still be newer than the Boss. I recall seeing the Boss on the Movin On tv series back about 74 so I'll check and see some old KW brochures see what it might be. Great idea for a project hope to see pictures. Come to think of it there were more than 3 paint schemes.
  15. That would be the airglide 100. It can be found on the Revell KW w900 snap kit,the AMT K100 Aerodyne, The Revell of Germany KW w900 extended hood (the best kit to start on the Boss) The Revell of Germany KW k100s etc. I wander if the Boss originally had the KW torsion bar suspension though due to the year. You have 3 choices on paint as the Boss was also orange and white as well as Red white and blue.
  16. I know it's a long shot because the molds are supposed to be gone but how about the Kenworth/Challenge mixer and all w900 based kits including the Alaskan hauler? I agree on pakaging being the problem with the General/Bison. When I got an original issue in 1977 it was fine.
  17. Autocar DC64 very similar to the AMT Autocar dump truck kit.
  18. Just a minor detail I thought of out of the blue.
  19. Great review. Remember the Great Dane nameplates on the top front corners are blue for reefers and red for dry vans. Hope to see pics of everyones builds soon. Oh and for the Great Dane "P" series trailers (formally Pines Trailers) the namplates are green.
  20. Tower is saying mid November but they also said the Great Dane was in stock limited quanities before changing it to mid October.
  21. Should. Model Round up will have them sometime this week.
