  1. Looks like the Rawhide maybe even better. Something for Moebius? Is Mack still funny about their trademark?
  2. I agree the horse done left the barn along time ago. No point i closing the door now. Everybody was used to things the way they were. By the way were is everybody at any way? This forum has been awful quiet the last 4 or 5 weeks.
  3. Either way both Ford and GM are based on their station wagon models. You can turn a station wagon into one with a plazma cutter and grinder. A station wagon could be considered a light truck technically. Yes they are based on station wagons which are based on passenger cars but when all the dust clears they are light trucks somewhere under a half ton like s10s,rangers and any other compact pick up.
  4. Moebius Great Dane in stock at Tower!!!!!!!
  5. That would be my thought too. The AMT c series ford has the 477/534 super duty gas v8 you could use a fe series v8 such as a 390/428 out of a car kit to represent a ft 391 engine also.
  6. Actually they're both based on station wagons with the back opened up. Station wagons sometimes have been considered panel trucks but they were also the great gran daddy to the mini van which also could fall under panel truck. In Australia there are Ranchero/el camino type vehicles called sport utes. So they could be car, light truck, sport ute, panel truck or light commercial so maybe they need there own section ha ha.
  7. Scania's may sell here now back then they were to different they seem to make a decent product. Some of the Aussie versions I've seen pics of might fit in here with left hand drive. They were just too Euro for us then but times have changed. Scania's may sell here now back then they were to different they seem to make a decent product. 8. Forgot to respond. The milatary truck in question is a Topkick, sort of a Brigadier style hood with a GM pick up cab. The Brigadier had the old heavy truck "J" cab introduced about 1966 in long and short hood versions. The short hood versions were updated about 1977 and called Brigadiers a very small few had the old butterfly hood but most had the newer tlit hood. As far as the long hood version goes like the resin mh9500 Jacobus posted it was replaced by the General. The Topkick was powered by a Cat 3208 in various ratings although I can't say about the military version in question. I agree the AMT ford Lnt 8000 would be a good start even the 1160 Cat engine resembles the newer 3208.
  9. That kit was originally released somewhere around 72 or 73. The b version also had that air ride the first few years before being changed to the walking beam. Yes the molds were ruined to make the b version. Other than the exhaust and air cleaner as well as the dash and bumper and some small details it's essentialy the same kit.The interior other than the dash is from the a version. I have seen some b models back dated to a models and they come out fine. There are some pics here on the forum. To answer the original question, no it has not been rereleased.
  10. Some Sterling models would be neat though.
  11. The Aeromax 120 used the Louisville cab originally introduced in 1969. The Sterling used a newer Ford cab introduced in the mid 90s and carried on to Sterling. While the two share a family resemblence they are considerably different. It would be quite a stretch.
  12. I'm thinking 357 but Tim our resident Pete expert should be able to help you better.
  13. I think I've seen Mercury sleepers on every brand of truck at some time or another.
  14. My cousin sent me this pic of Saia training truck, thought might be a unique project.
  15. Yep they are for intensive purposes they are the same. The DR ,WS and Road Boss have the same basic frame just as they would have in 1 to 1.
  16. They are very similar to the 9000 series battery boxes. They were an option added after the Lonestar was out for a year or so also available on the long bbc Prostar. Might be able to fab them as they are simple. Sometimes Porky has stuff not on the web.
  17. I don't remember all the specs but the truck was featured in Overdrive mag in 1980. The sleeper actually is 60" called the general's quarters by GMC. I do remember the truck had a 8v92ta and the wheelbase was probably around 250". Most Overdrive isssues are online some where try a google search.
