  1. The KW/Challenge mixer has to be the winner it was basicaly the the w900 kit with different wheels and a mixer body. It's also the reason for the demise of the torsion bar AMT switched to the Hendrickson suspension for the mixer kit. Having only been issued once and the w900 molds probably gone it's likely gone forever. As far as versions of kits go the tournement of thrills C ford and auto hauler is certainly quite rare.

  9. To answer the the original question it would be fine commercial vehicles recieve many modifications sometimes one of a kind so really anything is possible.
  10. Actually all k models got a wider grille in the mid 70s. AMTs k123 is a 71 vintage. The wider grille was because of bigger radiators to accomadate higher horsepower engines.
  11. Actually the 16 speed spicer in the old AMT kits is the SST16 also known as the 4x4 airshift. It shifts like a road ranger 4 speeds gone through with 4 ranges shifted by air with a range button. There was also 10 14 and 20 speed version. The 10 speed shifted like a Fuller super 10. Other than resin the AMT 5 x 4 from the w900 KW and its variants are it. The Alaskan Hauler used the 16 speed in place of the original 5x4 even both set ups are in the kit.The sticks in the kit are incorrect.

  13. That would be 92" 108" and the kits 122" bbc wheel bases are pretty much infinite. That brochure crossed my mind as AMT's kit is very close to that truck.

  17. It also depends on how close to scale the actual kit is. Some kits are out of scale and are closer to another scale than what they are claimed to be. If a 24th scale kit and a 25th scale kit are in scale there will be no noticable difference.

Actually the correct dimesions for the 555 48" long 35" wide and 33" tall the 903 is 60" long 38" wide and 35" tall The 555 is a larger version of the 504 not 502 As I pointed out the 903 is a much larger engine than the 555 The vast majority of L series Dodges were gas powered 361 and 413 as mid range diesels weren't common yet in the 60s Gas was also much cheaper then as well
  20. The 555 and 903 share nothing more than both being v8s. The numbers are there displacements The 555 is a medium duty engine and the 903 a heavy duty engine I doubt a 903 would physically fit in a L700 besides not having a large enough radiator They do look similar both being Cummins engines but the 903 is much larger
  21. Nothing available. The 555 cummins was an option the last year or so of l700 production and the perkins 358 inline 6 was available but nothing in model form. Although options Ive never seen a diesel l700
  22. Fire trucks ambulances and rescue squads etc all are great modeling subjects and I still say they should have there own place on the forum. I would regularly look. By the way looking good on the ALF.
  23. Super I haven't seen many of those pictures since they were in Owner Operator mag and the old Auto world catalogs in the 70s. Lou was one of my inspirations to build.
  24. Yes AMT made a 5 car hauler that resembles something from the late 40s to 60s. unfortunately it's been out of production for some time so prices are high.
