  1. They Finally found a way for me to 'Want' that modern Camaro
  2. I wanted that Challenger & matching T-Bird for years (I LOVE Police & other Emergency Vehicles!!!) I Have the Firebird Trans Am And the only complaints I had (and Still have) are 1. that the decal dissolved as soon as it touched the water, (I traced the second Bird decal and painted one on!!) and 2. that the Amber Turn signal lenses were cast in clear RED!! Each tail light was 4+ separate lens pieces The opening doors in that Trans Am fit better than most and do not sag or droop when opened
  3. I wanted this during The Buyer's Choice run, but could NOT find one! And, I have Not seen any as cheap as $20.oo!! Last time I looked...........................................
  4. One thing about those 58 EDSEL Wagon Tail Light Lenses Remember they are Custom Copies and Larger than Stock!!! For an Accurate Stock version, you will need to remove approximately 1/8 inch from the center of the lens I have a Resin Villager wagon and a Kitbash Ranchero in the works and have modified 2 sets of those lenses
  5. This Kit, not seen sine before 1970, has Always had the Missing Engine bay parts, Not Just the Firewall, but Radiator too! Also the tail lights are cast in the Bezels On the body!! Lastly, this has axles more like the Old 58 & 59 Annuals & Promos Very Thick (Approx 1/8 inch) versus the Wire rod axles in the 64 Impala Luckily the ones I have do have Smooth axles and not the Heavy Fluting/gears of the Originals!! Still a nice kit
  6. I have 2 of the Fleetline kit I built Way Back when too!! only got the Wagon body a couple years ago
  7. Darn I have 2 of the M*A*S*H Bell Chopper but None of the other 2 kits from the Series I WANT that Jeep & Swamp with Hawkeye, Hotlips & Radar Figures as well as the Duece & Half with B.J. & Klinger!!
  8. I have the Wagon Body, but need the Interior!! I also Wish More of these would get re-issued!!
  9. I believe Only the Chevelle and Camaro cars were in the series I built both when new!! The High-Roller parts are Identical between the cars too!! (same added trees & tires)
  10. I actually Cancelled Magazine Subscriptions and Book offers from them when they said Sales Tax! I asked for a Maryland address to send Payment, when they said NO office, etc in Md. I said NO Tax, or NO SALE They took that as No Sale only!! My sister refused an Avon purchase due to sales tax!! I just got a CHEAP 63 Ford Pickup kit ($14.oo) for the Hood {Yes I will take Offers on parts I do not Need--Body Damaged!!} NO sales tax!! Seller accepted Postal Money Order!! Sales tax have been Asked for on Mail-Order for Years But You Could sometimes get it waived Not sure Now, But I will Laugh at All Bankrupt companies when Mail-Order Dies as they start charging ALL state taxes! I asked the Right Questions Many times on Mail-Order Why, Which State is requiring tax How Long before the state where the Warehouse is Adds their tax to the Purchaser's home state tax Then The state where the Home office is, then the state where the office Receiving/processing the order, the EVERY state the item travels through to get to you Pretty soon the taxes will not only be More than Shipping, But more than the Item Therefore I REFUSE to pay sales tax on mail-order unless ordered AND Shipped from Maryland Company The Best Question though is What is NATIONAL Sales tax!! When they Pause (Normal) or say None, I tell them That is the Sales tax I pay!!! Refuse, or cancel enough orders, and watch sales tax get Dropped!!
  11. I have a FEW all found at hobby shops I have not yet had the $$ to subscribe I WANT to, but reading about the problems involved, Wonder if it will continue I HOPE it does!!! I would LOVE to find a collection of them somewhere, BUT NO One around here as interested in Models as I am!!!
  12. I have a few like this too 63 And 64Falcon Futura Sprint convertibles needing a Windshield frame Same for a 61 Galaxie Sunliner And others I forget
  13. I use the Cheap Apple Barrel Acrylics from Wal-Mart for tire sidewalls. Yes flexing the tire after the paint dries will crack it and even cause lifting
  14. Last time I bought from him he accepted Postal Money Order ONLY way I go now a days!! Got a Resin MACK coe cab and samples of semi truck tires & rims Still in the box he sent them in
  15. I had this happen Many years ago My first evilbay account Won a Yellow 74-75 issue Revell 59 Ford Skyliner kit at $15.oo with shipping listed ion the page as $5.oo When The invoice came shipping was also $!5.oo Doubling the price of the model I asked what happened seller Claimed shipping to MY area was such I told him shipping was listed ON the item at a Certain price and I bid accordingly He said Take it or leave it I told him to Relist I then would send a message to Every top bidder of what happened to me Many bids were cancelled Wish I had known about filing a complaint But bet they would have told me MY fault!! Won 2 built restorable models on that account (62 Thunderbird & 72 Road Runner w/photo-etch sheet) Never received over 1 month after the win, And paying Through Pay-The-Bay, I asked the seller when they had been sent She replied that Hubby had JUST returned from Hospital stay, and would pack then that evening or next day another month and still NO models, I sent another message asking about them This time NO reply. I filed the complaints, and got NO help from evilbay they closed the complaint after 1 month and the seller closed their account aroound the same time Needless I told me friend and told them all to close pay-th-bay and ONLY use US Postal Money Orders! ONLY way I mail order or buy from evilbay sellers now!!! If I do not get the item I order or win I send the Postal inspector & Police after them Have Not had to do that yet, though Almost did seller got snotty on me about delay in sending PMO He had Finally answered my messages (1 EVERY day since win) asking for Postal address ad How to make out PMO the NIGHT bafre within 12-18 hours he DEMANDED payment INSTANTLY I told him His Mistake and said If he had answered me 5 days BEFORE he did he would have had PMO by then But.... I then told him he could do what he wanted return the PMO Unopened, Cash it and send the model I won, or..... 1 Month to the day I send the PMO and was IN the Post Office to file against him the PMO I sent was returned to me Needless, the seller got Off bat JUST barely and Yes I Did tell the jerk!!!! I alway ask Before bidding or even Looking if a seller accepts Postal Money order I have NO idea what evilbay will say when I list something ad list PMO payment ONLY!!!!! But I will NEVER use paypay(Pay-The-Bay) to pay for something or accept it in payment EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can buy from Canada as US Postal does offer a LIMITED International PMO but...... HAve not been able to buy in some time Might get the chance o look later this year Sis & I will get foodstamps this month!! ANY help is greatly needed and by now I am NOT too embarrassed to ask
  16. Done some more work on 64 Have chassis ready save for suspension You can ALMOST see the spare tire well added from the AMT 65 Chevelle wagon kit under the Right Exhaust tips I did cut those off and reposition them slightly I am now wondering if I should try this chassis under the 65 GTO/Tempest wagon project Where might I find a CHEAP set of AMT Annual 64 Tempest/GTO rims????? Promo pieces can be cut down to outer rims fairly easy, so....... the Polar-Lights rims are to large in diameter, almost matching the Monogram 1/24 kit rims Plus, The Hardtop has Wire basket hubcaps instead of the GTO rims like the Convertible kit did!! Why has Round2 not re-issued the convertible kit yet with already giving us a Second of the Hardtop
  17. Actually that Mini-Lindy is more likely 1/64 ish scale Remember those were designed to Matchbox size back then For those who wanted a Matchbox Kit And YES, I have a few of that Mini-Lindy Van!! I also have this one A one piece "Blow-Molded" Bank Promo It looks a little smaller than 1/25, but I am glad to have found it!!!! more pics here: http://s145.photobucket.com/user/EdselDan/library/Models/Projects/67 Chevy Van Bank Promo?sort=3&page=1 I do not know if it would be good enough to use for resin casting due to the make up of the piece Also the rear doors were cut open at some point Likely to remove any $$$ put in it back when
  18. The "Wall Mounts" were in 1961 era STYLINE kits the ONLY 2 kits from that series re-issued since then are the Ranchero with Newly tooled 60 grill and the 61 Town-Victoria Galaxie First in RC2's Buyer's Choice, then Round2's Retro-Deluxe The Modern Tool 60 Starliner NEVER had that Wall-Mount!! I do not believe the Original Annual did either Nor the Craftsman re-issue
  19. Since Round2 has re-issed the 64 GTO Twice, both Hardtop, I wonder why this one has not been re-issed or announced for re-issue
  20. Not sure on the "California Models" But around that time Bob Swartz from Savannah, Mo did offer the 59 Country Sedan & Ranchero in Resin Tan Brown in color I still have 1 or 2 left of those he sent me for the use of my bodies You can tell they are mine by the drilled out tail-light locations to ude the Revell parts And the extended lower rear body to sit on the Rev Chassis Also the Ranchero had the slots opened for the Fender Ornaments Bob Called his Company "Model Cars & Parts" This 59 EDSEL Villager Body is from one of Bob's Wagon castings. The EDSEL front clip was also one of his I wish I knew what happened to him It would be nice to get those PMC bodies of mine back out there in Resin This Villager was to go to him for casting too!!!!
  21. I love that trailer Have 1 to finish Wish they would hurry up and re-issue it!!! Wish the turbine was in 1/25 instead of 1/20!!
  22. Had 1 each hardtop & Convert Wish I still did Convert was Nice Turq. Metallic Tires look too wide for my taste, and maybe too tall of a rim/hubcap, but.... Only 65 Coronet available so....
  23. Actually, Shell MIGHT be Steel, Aluminum, or Fiberglass But 2x4 Framework in there!!!!! Watch "How It's Made" and see Travel/Camping trailers being produced They Still use 2x2 & 2x4 framing!! And even Plywood panels!!! That AMT El Camino Camper would be a Mid even Early 60's piece, so NO Space Tech material in that one ALL OLD-School Framing, etc Steel likely Steel, But MIGHT be Aircraft grade Aluminum too as Jets were out from Boeing & McDonald-Douglas/DC But would cost been prohibitive??? Cap shells had 2x4 Frame work in the Mid-late 80's as I measured one back the to create a model of for some of my pickup kits Have the Drawings ready to go!!!
  24. OK got the body started on the 64 & 67 Making better progress on the 67, but SHOULD have done it the same as the 65 & 64, by using only the Pillars and Not upper quarters under the windows Here is the 64 body; The lump in the left rear Quarter is fixed I had to disassemble this area, then re-assemble it at the window line first After that set, I added the Wedge in the mid Quarter to Lift the rear corner I did have to cut the wedge down I would LOVE a set of the Photo-Etch details, but.......... Maybe if some one used my builds as Resin masters I could get some For now the plan is that all of mine will wear GTO trim, Badges, & Script I can Easily (and FREELY) Foil Cast all those from Twins in the collection!! I have the Last Non-Butchered 65 GTO kit in the Collection the Elegance Series "Street Sleeper" And I have an Original Interior tub to modify Though I actually need a second due to the 4dr body!!! I can also use a second pair of Polar-Lights interior panels for the same reason Modify the interior to 4dr spec Lastly, I need at least 1 Revell/Monogram 59 Impala kit Tail-light as I only have one left and I carved the 65 Wagon tail lights out of a set 64's look Identical, so....... Sadly I will be better of with one of the After-market members here Casting resin copies of my work!! Money is Below Minimal right now!!!!!!
  25. OK I can add a little The 59 Ford Wagon was the mid-level 4dr Country Sedan I have Both Styrene Toy, and Deluxe Dealer Acetate Promo!! Both have the same flat tin plate chassis with flywheel/friction motor!! The toy is Body only with silver/gray bumpers The Promo has interior, Windows and Hubcaps in the tires Deluxe Promo: Toy being Rebuilt with Revel Skyliner parts Note the Minor Twist to the interior, and overall Shrinking oif the 2-tone Promo vs the Turq Styrene Toy body The Revell Grill fits almost perfectly And Yes do remove the front bumper extensions, Strip the chrome and glue to the front fender Surprisingly, The mold parting line Should be LEFT there as those were still Separate parts even when chromed!!!!!!! BUT, Revell NEVER had clear red lenses for their Fairlane 500 Skyliner I have TWO built Originals, and the lens is cast with the Bezel and Chrome I did Drill/inset the tail light area to accept the Rev piece See here the work done to adapt the PMC body to accept the Rev chassis And the tail lights; AMT DID have the clear-red lenses in their Galaxie kits I also have the Ranchero Toy issue Bob Swartz in Savannah, Mo did offer resin copies of both of MY PMC 59 Fords at one time But I have not heard of him in many years Were Bagged kits done only in Acetate? or also styrene?? I now wonder if the 'Admiral Blue' Chevy promo I have is PMC one of those above has the paint name on the roof like mine I have A Fleetline fastback And folder with more pictures; http://s145.photobucket.com/user/EdselDan/library/Models/Chevy Fleetline bank?sort=3&page=1
