The Metal axle option was if you did not want working steering. Not to be Curbside. I have had Several of this kit. Including one with all the Styline/Advanced Custom parts. I still have some, and the "Blue" printed instruction sheet I DO hope some of the 'Lost' parts are returned Including the Mini 57 Fairlane 500 Trophy top!!! I only have One of those!!!!

Does CA glue go bad??
Edsel-Dan replied to Brutalform's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am Cheap. I get mine from Dollar Tree 3-4 metal tubes or 2-3 plastic bottles $1.oo each That is the Best part of Dollar tree Everything is $1.oo or LESS!!!! I will check the brand later at home -
Since several parts were moved from the Blue box art Lesney/Ertl kit and the next issue I Doubt we will see any of the Custom parts back As can be seen in the pic's of the Original issue Up to and including the Blue kit Both front & rear suspension were on the chrome trees in the Wally's box, and any others after the Blue box the lower front A Arms piece & the 2 pc rear axle were moved off the chrome trees and are bare plastic That leads me to believe many of the Custom parts not seen since the Original run of the Flashback box art, have been lost permanently I myself would Love the 3 pc trophy and floor globe lights again!!!

The Question then might be... Did Heller Lease the Tooling, Or have Ertl/? run a batch Or Worse did the tooling end up at Heller??? If they were offered by Heller as recently as 5 yrs ago, I am wondering......... If the latter, then Round2 Will Never re-issue them. Unless they buy them back from heller. I too wish they would re-issue a Lot of their smaller scale kits Hopefully the Scale Stars kits sell well enough that they do Any word on the third 1/32 All-Sars/Scale Stars issue?? We got the Avanti & 61 Falcon Ranchero, What else CAN they re-issue And Which of the 1/43 scale cars can the run?? Some were last out in the Matchbox-Lesney box Street-Magic series Those did Not have the chrome plating!!! The 36 & 48 Ford Coupes were last out in the Early 70's others like the VW Beatle, Ford GT, Indy Racer, Most of the 67-68 Customs, and 69 Annual Thunderbird have NEVER been re-issued!!!!
-
I have the Indy Hall Of Fame Racers set too as well as the Pace car set with 80 Trans Am (though called Turbo or Formula Firebird then) 69 Camaro & 86 Corvette. I also have the Ford set with the 2 57's & 63 Sprotsroof Galaxie and the SnapFast set that had the 66 Fairlane GT/GTA and Rannger Pickup The Fairlane was ONLY offered in that 3 kit set!!!! I believe most of the 3 kit sets had 1 kit that at the time was ONLY available in the set Though was available separately before, or afterwards!! Though NOT the 66 Fairlane That was Only available separately as a Retro-Promo. I have a Chevy Set that had the 63 & 64 Impala's but do not remember what the third kit was. And I remember the Class of 69 set, but did not have that one There was also a set with the 65 GTO, and 68 Road Runner, but again I do not recall the third kit in that set I have a Revell 3 car set with 54, 55 & 57 Chevy's And a Penski Race team set with the Matador, Trailer, and Most of the Van!!. Sadly It was missing the body when I got it I had set aside a "Sunchaser" issue of the Van kit for use with that set. Also I built that set when NEW , but........ The trailer was taken, I need to finish the Matador, and the van....... SHOULD be in that house Somewhere, but.................... I do remember it was missing parts, but have not seen it in Many years!!! Another I wish I had gotten, the MPC set with the Clear Display trailer, Chevy C1500 Stepside, and 57 Vette. I do have the Pickup & trailer, so........

I only built one of the 1/16 Tri-5 Chevies, the 57 Convert It Di NOT have separate white-Wall inserts!! I am Betting all were based on the same chassis tooling and that None of the Chevies had the insert tires I could be wrong, but, I had an Unbuilt 55 Hardtop, and do not recall separate tire side inserts in that kit either!!
-
MPC's Toronado did NOT use Jo-Han's body They are/were Completely Different kits I have a couple Jo-Han 66's and an MPC 67 Though Very similar and parts Might interchange, they are Not the same!!! MPC's kit had a 1 pc engine bay/underhood area with Inner Fenders, Firewall & Radiator wall Jo-Han had separate firewall, radiator support and 'inner fenders The Jo-Han pieces did Not even touch each other when assembled!!! As to the Custom. Was the Mannix Roadster first, or Harry Bradley's "Californian"??? The Californian was still a Coupe/hardtop, so believe that would have been first AMT issued the Jo-Han 66 as a 67 and later offered Jo-Han's 70. I have Both AMT & Jo-Han 70's There is NO doubt they are the Same kit!! Also My Jo-Han 66-67's are AMT boxed!! MPC's 67 has Correct front Corner/fender lights (separate Chrome Pieces) The AMT boxed Jo-Han does Not!!

Old Revell "H" part # kits
Edsel-Dan replied to Brutalform's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have that 3 car set waiting The 57 is in the 78 box art scheme I built one just before graduating High School th match the box art I sold it a few years later only change I made was using AMT Firestone Supreme White-Stripe tires in place of the 2 pc 'Delryn' type kit tires!!! The 55 in that 3 car set has OLD SKINNY Goodyear Polyester's!!!! Almost Too small for the car too!! I also never had any problem with the many I built In fact, one of the 56's is waiting to be Finished as a Nomad Roof is from AMT's 55, interior panels are a combination of Revell 57 & AMT 55 Nomad pieces!! And Yes, I did Most of the work BEFORE Monogram did their 56 Nomad And Mine Matches shape & size of that one! Just have to add the body trim!!! I only ever saw the Lowrider issue in Pink Not Lavender, And NO Metallic effect either!! Also, Did they do a Skip's issue of the 57 Hardtop? or Just the Nomad?? Mine was a VERY Dark Blue Metallic, Not black!!! I used that one for parts on the 56 and to restore a built original 57 I also have an Unbuilt, Boxed Original 1969 issue of Revell's 57 Nomad -

Fans weep over rediscovered Bullitt Mustang
Edsel-Dan replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I wonder how many different Mustang's were used in the filming of Bullitt Same with the Charger. How many were used? I liked that Blue Bloods episode, but had thought for a LONG time that the Mustang was Gone. It did end up with a broken left from suspension at the end of the Chase after all!! -
Try down here in my area!!!!!!!!! At least the greater Baltimore/DC area is Closer to you than to me!!!!!!!!!!!! I am pretty sure the 64 is almost identical to the 65 in the tailgate area so, will just duplicate what I did there for that one Though, HOPE the Polar-Lights 64 kit will work for me Wish they would offer the convertible again, and in all white like the Johnny Lightning version hardtop I have or at least in unpainted like the current hardtop re-issue The evilbay auction of the 64 tail light shows me that it carried over to the 65 Or at least VERY close!!!! I just need a couple Revell/Monogram 59 Impala tail light lenses to make the from That is what I used for the 65 tail lights And I will use the 64 Trim piece from between the tail lights one the GTO for the tail gate insert That will give me the PONTIAC letters Or can I use one from a 65 again?? Close enough????? It will be a LOT of Fun trying to do the 68/69 and 70-72 versions Those bodies are So different!!! Plus, not sure how much it will take to adapt the 1/25 wagon roof to the 1/24 GTO bodies for 68 & 69!! May pass on those
-
I am also wondering how many different F&F movie versions of this kit will be done This car(s) changed in almost every movie it was in. And the trailers for the original only show it with the lights Open, so.......

I have Several of the Old Revell kits withthe 2pc tires They were NEVER Vinyl OR Rubber Those tires are more in line with "Delrin" Or what Model Railroader now calls "Slippery Engineering Plastic" to avoid trademark. And true, NO glue would work on them like for Styrene parts Elmer's or similar "White" glue Or other Crafting glue (Ailene's) will hold them But, Gluing the inner & outer rime was what was meant to hold the together in the first place so...................... My guess is some here did not get a good joint in the rims. Unless I took them apart NONE of mine have separated I built the Yellow Molded Bre-510 Back when first issued. Still together to this day Might even have a tri-5 Chevy with them on it and still holding together!!!!!

'47 - '48 Fords N' Chevys
Edsel-Dan replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have a built of that AMT 1/43 kit I built Way back then and 2 Unbuilt of it too!! I built the Testor's "Fabulous Fords" boxed of the coupe also when New. Hope to some day finish the resto-conversion and make to Police car similar to Revell's new kit (Though finding the period correct San Diego PD decals!!!) I have a Flat box of the coupe And a Convertible to build too And I have the Revell/Momgram Woody Use to have the Pro-Modeler Convertible. -
Wonder why they did not offer both closed headlight & open light grills as that car(s) has been seen both ways in the different movies. or might that be in the Stock kit coming next year??

At least LeMans optioned Tempest wagons were also called "Safari" in 66 & 67 I have a copy of 'The Complete Catalog of American Automobiles 46-75' and the Safari name plate is used there for those Also, at least for a time after 57, Safari was the name for ALL Pontiac Wagons I found out will have to do the 66 & 67 models like shown in the built above, just adding the GTO front clip to the AMT 65 or Revell 66 Chevelle wagon body, as they had a Shorter wheelbase than all other Tempest/LeMans cars 66 Wagons had 203.6 inch wheelbase vs 206.4 on Hardtops & convertibles While 67 Wagons had a 203.4 inch wheelbase 2 Tenths shorter than the previous year Hardtops & convertibles grew by the same 2 tenth's to 206.6 And yes the MPC 67 GTO kit has a longer wheelbase than the Revell 66 Chevelle wagon kit body!!!! With that method though the fun part will be adding the MPC 67 or Revell/Monogram 66 GTO emblems to the builds!! Foil casting will be the method, But getting them in the correct location may be difficult I would also like to add Safari Specific trim pieces to these builds But, finding them will be the MOST Fun part!!!!! Carman1, is your avatar thumb the wagon you have?? Nice But, Not sure I can do that one yet only 68/69 I have access to is the Old Monogram 1/24. NOT sure I want to try merging scales yet (unless you know where I can get a couple OLD MPC 1/25 bodies Cheap or Better FREE!!!!!!!)
-
Yea Like that But............... Actual cars not scale. Plus, not sure if it is MY connection or not But your pic's are Pixelized badly Are they Small and being enlarged to fit?? or Old pic's?? AND, You did the bash differently than I plan to I guess I should have posted the pic's of my 65 In Progress I kept the doors and rear quarters of the GTO, and added the roof & Tailgate of the 65 Malibu wagon Notice the tan/brown body vs gray roof & Tailgate The white wedge is where I corrected the rear quarters to match Wagon quartes and line up with the read side windows ALSO, I used the PONTIAC lettered insert from the GTO kit rather than keep the CHEVROLET insert. I also raised it up to more closely match the Pontiac piece On the 64, it should line up almost even with the top of the tail lights! NOW, BIG Question, Can I use the P-L 64?? or do I need an AMT annual body, interior, etc??????? I have a P-L body scribed for the 4 doors, but............. Also, where do I find the hash marks on the front fender Rocker area?? I can use either the AMT 65 Malibu roof & interior cargo section or the Revell 66 Chevelle Wagon roof & cargo section BUT prefer to keep the Pontiac rear quarters Tail lights for the 66 & 67 appear CLOSE to the 66 Chevy pieces, BUT......................... I do NOT see separation lines in them. AND they appear All RED! here are the back Up lights??????? I will be adding pic's I can find (and am given) to the research folder in my Photobucket) Hope to get some Good pictures. Preferably of Actual cars so they are more accurate OK, made a folder and added pic's in the Research folder. These are the types of pic's I need BUT, I need Good REAR shots, besides straight on side shots ALSO 66 & 67 Te,pest/LeMans Safari Wagons have Small Round back up lights in the Rear Bumper!!!! http://s145.photobucket.com/user/EdselDan/library/research/Tempest-LeMans-GTO Wagons?sort=3&page=1

Hi all, I want to get back to a project series I started some time ago I have a Great start on the 65 Tempest/Lemans Safari wagon thanks to a photo spread in a magazine. But, I need Good side & rear shots of others. I want to do All possible, so 64, 66 & 67 will do for now They All used the same roof sheet metal as Chevy's 64-667 Malibu/Chevelle wagons! From what I have found the 64 tail lights will be the same as the 65 Tempest/Lemans wagon Those I can create out of Rev-Mono 59 Impala pieces I am Not sure on 66 or 67 tial lights. Also, I guess I need to see if the Polar Lights 64 GTO body is good enough for this project. I have a Basket case Rev 66 I can use and 2 MPC 67's to chose from, so, those are the ones I will attepmt was the roof the same through 72?? If so, I might look at those too. (or at least the 72 as that kit IS still available!!! And Yes, they will Keep GTO script!!!! Since they will all use the GTO hood's I wonder how many Tempest Safari wagons had GTO Engines, etc!!!!! Many Thanks. (and YES, I did do a SEARCH. I found only a FEW pictures that I Might be able to use)

Round2 August Announcements Video
Edsel-Dan replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Forgot to add, I did Not realize the stupid's Pickup was NOT the kit, so NO it will not have both pickup box options. Won't have one either. Mostly for scale, but NEVER liked them Idiots either
