Looks like someone went to the local preschool and got the kids to design it. -

What we are witnessing here is the 2nd law of thermo dynamics at work. I remember this model in the "other" mag, saddening to see this happen. -
Can you use BMF over flat paint?
Yahshu replied to Hotrod 97's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thank you for correcting me, that's good to know. I'll still stick with the PVA, works for me, maybe the stuff sold here in Oz is different to what you have in the US. -

One could use plain old "white glue", it's the same stuff, just a whole lot cheaper & it does the same job. -

In the last 2 pics, I see brown carpet. -
Throw him in the deep end & he'll learn to swim. Recently a young bloke I know who's autistic & likes the S & H Torino wanted to build a model of it after seeing mine. I purchased 1 for him & we built it together, no painting, just as it came out of the box (a 1st for me), he glued & assembled, I done the decals, I've never seen someone so happy at such a basic build, that model & it's box are displayed with great pride on his bookshelf.

They look awesome. I'm guessing the rear wheels stick out past the guards on the hideout truck as they do with the Papa truck, I had a heck of a time getting them tucked under the guards on mine, I also used Auslowes torsion bar suspension on my Papa truck which didn't make things any easier. Can't wait for the Bandag Bandit & Hideout truck to complete the set. These 2 are a lot easier to paint as well.

Thank you all for your help. The car pictured is the Max Rockatansky/The Dark One, 351, XB, 4 door Falcon. March Hare's was a 250 in line 6 cylinder XA 4 door Falcon. Big Bopper's was a 302, XB 4 door Falcon (ex cop car). Max's black 2 door was a 351 XB GT Falcon. The black car is a Pursuit Special, this fact is made very clear in the 1st movie, it was only called the Interceptor in the 2nd movie. I went to school in the same building complex at the same time that the MM2 cars were being built. There are 2, 2 doors used in the 2nd movie, the original MM1 car & a copy. They are easy to tell apart, the original has its windshield wipers & it's 2 tone paint scheme still on the sides but not on the bonnet (hood), the copy has neither & also the interior does not have as much junk in it as the original does. The Parts Box Max cars are 1/25 scale & will look out of place next to my 1/24 Aoshima kits & as I'm autistic, this will not do.
-
Thank you but not what I'm looking for, these are the parts to convert the Aoshima kit back to the MM1 Pursuit Special, these I have. The conversion kit I'm looking for requires cutting part of the roof & doors & removing the entire rear section of the Aoshima kit & grafting on the resin 4 door section, it also came with the XB GT grill, both bumpers, 4 door interior & some other odds & sods. There were also conversion kits to do Big Bopper & March Hare's cars using the Aoshima kit as the base. I guess now there's the 1/18 de cast that's just being recently released (tires look weird) it won't be long before a 1/24 scale die cast is done. I'd still prefer to build my own just to satisfy my OCD.
-
Thank you, I know of this kit, it's 1/25 as a posed to Aoshima's 1/24 & it would look out of scale next to the Aoshima cars that's why I'm chasing the conversion set for the Aoshima car.
-
A few years back someone was doing a conversion to turn the Aoshima kit into Max's 4 door Interceptor, does anyone remember it & where I might acquire one, thanks.

Squadron Putty Formula Change?
Yahshu replied to crowe-t's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've just started using Tamiya putty as I can't get Squadrons anymore. I've found tamiya shrinks a little more than i like requiring 2-3 coats sometimes. -
Another outstanding build from Michelle's Garage.

Tamiya 1/24 Mazda Savanna RX-7 Rotary Rocket 1st Gen
Yahshu replied to Italianhorses's topic in Model Cars
My brother & I call these cars mobile ramps because of their shape & if you drop the front wheels off & you have a ramp. Sorry for not explaining my original comment a bit better. Still a very nice build. -
