Anyone have a how-to on Stretch walls?
Austin T replied to Austin T's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It's a trend that is fairly popular people who drive Imported vehicles. It's one of those things that supposedly came from racing and was tweaked here and there to better suit peoples needs. When it comes down to the brass tacks it's solely done for style, much like countless other modifications in the car world. Also this is u sally paired with lowering the vehicle itself to create what is called "Stance" (Somewhat similar to slammed) and most or the time results in an almost complete removal of wheel gap for a very smooth flowing look, much like how concept cars usually have the wheels tucked away in the renderings. A large amount of the guys that do this to their cars know that they will scrape from time to time or that they wear out tires faster but that's how they like their cars. Here are some pictures of it. And as for the comments it OK to ask about it, just be open minded and don't be an @ss about it like others. -
Is that Orange going to be for what I think it is? Something sponsored by a German company on something that shoots things? As for the HobbyTown being so close to you I'm jealous, me and you will have to make a few paint runs sometime.

Sorry to Jack the thread, I just wanted to show that the two brands did not affect each other. As for the time between coats when priming I usually have about three or four light coats built up on my cars. You can add another coat every half hour since Tamiya primer dries so fast but I personally like to do a quick check for any imperfections in my primer. If I see some I'll wait and let the body totally dry,if not I finish up my priming. And as for going from primer to paint I always as a rule of thumb (Personally) let my last coat of primer dry over night before I spray my first color coat.

Enjoy your Shekago dogs all you want, I'll stick with mine Buffalo NY style. Just like Ted's with a big ole glass of Loganberry and maybe some beer battered onion rings. If anyone is in the Atlanta area I highly suggest you take a stop by Barkers red hots, that man knows how to cook a real hot dog.

Thanks for the heads up. I believe he casts them and I know he uses them so he should know something about it. -

Thanks most everyone for your response. I've been thinking about the hollow tire idea but I just need to find some, as for the other mentioned methods that's some good food for though. As for the other I hope your waste of time bettered you in the future, it defiantly help me pinpoint a bit more of the adolescence of this site. -
First I'm not asking for your opinion on the matter, I'm solely asking how to achieve this look in scale. If you want to complain about how much you don't like it I'll just add you to the ignore list. How would I go to achieving this look in scale? I know there are half a dozen places you can purchase stretch walls but I'd rather do it myself.

Is This For Real?
Austin T replied to Dale W. Verts's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Seems kinda fishy,no current pics of a car and he's asking 6.5 million. I'd pull the auction and look for solid proof he's not just some scammer in a basement. -
That's pretty cool. Any pictures of the entire track?

Tamiya 1/24th Scale Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA
Austin T replied to mikevillena's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This project is simply amazing, I'm still in shock from the amount of detail you've put into such a beautiful car. After this you should use Italeri's Giulietta spider and make another master piece. -
Anyone know what happened to Brandon? He had some sick work he was showing off.

I understand, I'm not new to the internet. What I posted is pure fact printed plain as day on the side of the model box. If you want to be all butt hurt about a mistake a company accidentally made that could be mistaken as slightly racy feel free to. If it's seen as a problem by many people I'll delete it,but I highly doubt that something that insignificant would offend people especially with some of the other things that have been posted here in the past.

Imported kits from china and Japan usually have some funny misspellings that are lost in translation. For example my Aoshima Aventador has areas i'm recommended to paint "Flat Brack". So terrible to see that on an Asian kit.

Just noticed the JNC decal on the Skyline. Where did you get a "Japanese Nostalgic car" decal?

Modeling disaster stories?
Austin T replied to JPS_Lotus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Tennax story reminded me of my ultra thin super glue story! I was at my new (At the time) work station with everything neatly tucked away and organized working on my 1964 Impala. I went to grab my ultra thin super glue bottle for something and ended up covering half of my brand new work bench in a layer of superglue. I let it fully dry and came back the next day to start chipping it off, it took two days and a LOT of various instruments to clean up most of it. -
I found a place online that will fly you a meal from "In-N-Out Burger" overnight and cook it for you when it arrives.Needless to say it cost a lot to eat an In-N-Out burger east of the Mississippi.

That is sick. I always thought it was funny how the guy was portrayed as poor and had a raggedy looking Monte on the out side but had absolutely massive amounts of money invested into the chassis, engine, ect. making an absolute beast of a car. Also I can guarantee you that there will never be a high school parking lot with as many nice cars in it than the opening of Tokyo Drift.

That is a pretty wild idea. Where did you go to get such a nice print out of the card?

Google Self-Driving Car..
Austin T replied to DrGlueblob's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I doubt it, It seems like something with to many liabilities for practical day to day use on a massive scale. Imagine all the regulations an constant inspections they would have to go through that would be in a constant situation of changing to improve them, seems like these will fall victim to the same fate as the Amazon drones. A mere glimpse of a possibility, similar to the rocket and nuclear concept cars of the 50's. -
