Tim... super nice job. I can imagine the time and effort you put into drilling out every one of those seat grommets. Very impressive in every way. But like others have said, your photos don't do the model justice. You need to shoot that baby on a clean, white background and let the model stand out, not the stuff on your workbench.

Another alternative: Save all that time and effort sanding and polishing, and just make new "glass" out of clear acetate sheet. If the "glass" has a compound curve, that won't work... but with the glass like in your case, which has no pronounced compound curve, the clear acetate will work.

Oh, ok. I get it now. Yeah, I don't remember a cop ever stopping me by pulling alongside. They must have stopped doing it that way years ago. But geez... you'd think the flashing red (or blue) lights in your rear-view mirror would be enough of a hint that the cop wants you to pull over!

I think I know what you're saying, and of course we all have different tastes. For me, I like a good story. Not a fan of action/adventure/sci-fi kind of stuff, so movies like Star Wars and "action films" with a lot of car chases and explosions just don't interest me... so even though they may we very well done for what they are, the directors who do them don't really register on my radar. But with Clint Eastwood, yes, his style is pretty much a straightforward story teller, with minimal (if any) "artistic touches" or special effects or stuff like that. I guess the term for movies like that is "character driven." Not everyone's cup of tea... but that's how I like my movies.

Best living director. No Hitchcock, Welles, Ford, etc. Your opinion as to who is the best living and working film director. My vote is a no-brainer. Clint Eastwood, hands down. Huge fan here. Maybe my avatar sort of gave that away... And yours...?

Actually, I am so used to hearing the released versions of the songs with all of Spector's embellishments that when hearing them stripped down without all the extra "frosting on the cake," they sound odd to me. I guess it's all about what you're used to. But of course, an interesting album, for sure... especially to a Beatles fan.

If you are a Beatles fan and don't have the Beatles Anthology DVD box set, you need to get it. There are dozens of studio outtakes, alternate versions of songs, songs the Beatles recorded but never released, etc. It's absolutely fascinating to hear the songs we all know so well as they were being created. It's almost like sitting in the recording studio, watching the guys do their thing. I actually prefer some of the "alternate" versions to the released versions we all know so well. As all of you know by now, I'm a huge music fan, and an even "huger" Beatles fan. I have the Beatles anthology discs that include all sorts of studio outtakes and unreleased versions of songs. It's interesting to be able to hear so many of their most famous songs while they were still works in progress. I found this on youtube... an apparently early version of "I'm a Loser," before they decided to add John's harmonica part. And Paul's harmony vocal is very different from the final version. But actually better, IMO.

Well, given how so many members here made a huge issue out of the plastic sleeve thing for so long, I expected a whole lot more reaction. Guess not.
