  3. Nice build Rob. I love the paint job.
  4. John this is going great. I wish you good luck in getting it all finished for NNL. Seeya there buddy.
  5. Nice looking Rod Shane. Good job.
  6. Great looking Custom Bernie. Nice job.
  7. Outstanding detail work Art. Hat's off to you sir.
  8. I always do Google research and download reference pictures on a car I'm building. I try to get as many details right as I can, especially in the engine and interior compartments. I also get ideas for color schemes from internet searches.
  9. I haven't built a Box Stock model in about 15 years. I used to try to discipline myself to do at least one every year, just to keep my detail painting skills sharp, but I eventually gave up because to me, models look so "bare" in the engine compartment and interior without some (or a lot of) added details.
  10. Happy Birthday young lady. Hope you have a WONDERFUL day. A toast to YOU.
  11. Very cool looking Rod. Great job.
  12. One final update on the Caddy. I painted and installed the convertible boot cover I got from Edsel Dan (Thanks again Daniel). I also attached the interior visors, and some tiny PE circles on the top of the passenger side front fender, at the end of the top chrome trim spear, to represent the spot where the power antenna would retract. The boot cover really finishes off the car. Thanks again to all for looking in.
  13. Great build Harry. I've got a plastic kit buried somewhere of one of these cable cars that I bought way back in the mid 70's when my wife and I visited San Fran on a vacation trip. I've never built it. Your build is beautiful, as are all of your builds.
  14. Yeah... Al Sleet.... Canadian Highs followed by Mexican Lows... Oh wow man......
  15. For me it really depends on the model that I am working on at a particular time. Most of the kits in my stash (about 150) and all the aftermarket stuff I have (about $1,000 worth) I have built up and accumulated over the past 15 years or so. Lately I'll buy resin kits to build if I can't get a plastic kit of those particular subjects. I've spent $125 on a curbside resin kit. I'll rarely build anything Box Stock as I can't seem to resist adding extra details. I am fortunately somewhere in about the middle of the "bookends" that Joe mentioned above. I'm not in a position to be able to go as crazy as I would sometimes like to, but I'm also not forced to scrimp on things either. Of course the people who build Pocher models are not in this particular conversation...... right Harry..??
  16. Great job Jim. That looks really cool.
  17. Kenn you are a modeling artist in a league of your own. Hat's off to you sir.
  18. I live about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh, PA. Since I don't drive anymore due to partial vision loss as a result of a stroke back in 2000, I go to the NNL East with my friend Tom Valenta who lives in Hendersonville, NC. Tom drives up to my home usually on the Thursday before the NNL East show and we hang out for awhile. It's a 7 hour drive for him to get to me. We leave from my home midday Friday and drive to Wayne, NJ to check in at the hotel and meet "the gang" at the Friday night gathering. That is about a 6 to 7 hour drive, depending on traffic, etc. On Sunday after the show, we drive down to Tom's home in NC which is about a 10 hour drive. Thankfully, Tom enjoys driving, especially in his Dodge Magnum with the Hemi.
  19. Very nice Al. Have a few models do ya...???
