  1. Welcome to our plastic playground Timothy. You've built some very nice looking models.
  2. I'm looking forward to going to this show in a couple of weeks. Anyone else planning on going?? Hopefully the weather will be good.
  3. Welcome to our plastic playground Michael.
  4. I sent him an email on Wednesday and am waiting for a reply.
  5. Welcome to our plastic playground Clark. You'll enjoy being here.
  6. I think that so many people will be doing the same thing from now until early next year that Modelhaus will be swamped with orders right up to the last minute that they're in business.
  7. Thanks Joe. Yes, I believe it is the same.
  8. I went on the Promolite website but there did not appear to be any Link to contact Tom on there. I want to find out the price on his 1959 Oldsmobile Tudor Hardtop kit. Can anyone help???
  9. Well, we've got a little over a year until their projected retirement. I know that I have at least 5 more kits that I want to order from them along with some parts.
  10. Yeah, a Kaiser roll works good for this sandwich too Harry.
  11. Welcome to our plastic playground Willie. Plenty of us "old guys" here. I'll be 69 in April.
  12. Thanks Todd, I just checked out their website. I guess if I order from them I'll have to use Spaz Stix to chrome the grille & bumpers. I don't have an airbrush for Alclad or the Alclad spray.
  13. I love the '56 Merc Todd. I built the Modelhaus' resin kit. I look forward to seeing yours. I wish I could find a '53, '54 & '55 Merc.
  14. Yeah, I like swiss cheese on a tuna sandwich too. Chili cheese dogs are great too... Hope this one doesn't gross anyone out, but, my all time favorite sandwich is Taylor Ham (Taylor Pork Roll) sliced paper thin, but a lot of slices, with Muenster cheese, mayo, salt & pepper, on fresh white bread...... I've loved it since I was a kid.
  15. Maybe it's because I'm not from Chicago, but...... having all of that extra stuff on a hot dog just does not appeal to me at all. Give me a couple of Nathan's hot dogs with lots of mustard and maybe some sauerkraut, and some Nathan's french fries with plenty of ketchup...... YUMMM.
  16. I just did pretty much the same thing down in my basement model area Dave. Swept the floors, dusted off the workbench, swiffered away all the cobwebs and reorganized all my paints and tools. Now I have to knuckle down and get building again. Between the holidays, family visits, gift wrapping, the football playoffs and Super Bowl, I haven't been working on anything for months.
  17. I also recall a guy who came around the neighborhood crying out "I buy clothes.".... We called him the Rag Man. He'd buy any old clothing people wanted to get rid of...... He wouldn't pay much, but in those days any extra coins helped our parents. Then there was the guy who came around ringing a bell... He'd sharpen your knives and scissors...
  18. Wow...... Joe Zrodlowski, you've brought back a load of memories for me...... I've eaten many a Charlotte Rouse as a kid as my Mom used to buy them. While I drank loads of egg creams as an adult, as a child my Saturday "shopping with Mom treat" was a Black Raspberry ice cream cone and a chocolate soda (U-Bet chocolate syrup and seltzer), and then buying 2 comic books (for 10 cents each) and reading them from cover to cover. Living in the Inwood section of upper Manhattan in the 1950's we'd often enjoy the sunshine up on "tar beach" where Mom would hang laundry to dry, or we'd sit out on the fire escape "balcony" on a hot summer night. For a short time my Mom worked at a Horn & Hardart Automat and I remember feeding nickels in to get a glass of milk. I also fondly recall an old Italian guy who pushed a Hot Dog cart around the neighborhood on weekends. When we saw him coming I'd go into the apartment bldg. courtyard and yell up to Mom to please throw me down a quarter so I could get 2 hot dogs (with mustard and onions in a red sauce) and a watered-down orange drink... all for a quarter...!!! What a feast...!!! I remember Sandy Becker, Soupy Sales, Chuck McCann... Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassidy... Thanks Joe.
  19. That looks really good Patrick.
  20. Nice build John. I'm also hoping to get something done with those NNL decals by showtime.
  21. Welcome to our plastic playground Simon.
  22. Nice work as usual Tulio. I have one of these kits in my stash that I will eventually get to. I hope it comes out looking as good as yours.
  23. Great job Marcos.
  24. That's a great looking Nomad Kenneth.
