  1. Dave, I tried sending you a PM but it says that you can't receive messages. Either there is a problem, or, you need to delete some of your old messages because you're only allowed to keep so many.
  2. Hope you have a great day Donn.
  3. Only your outrageously creative mind could come up with something like this Ira.... Great work as always.
  4. Nice job on this rebuild Bob. I like the color.
  5. Wow Ray, your custom styling work looks great and that Red color is awesome. Keep up the good work.
  6. That's very creative Ray. I've got all my dremel bits and attachments stored in the tool box style case that it came in with rows of slots and holes for the bits to sit in
  7. Very nice job Al. I love the color and flames, and the interior is great.
  8. Great job Emmanuel. This is one of my favorite cars as I used to own a '59 Coronet. Yes, it has plenty of chrome foil work, and you did beautiful work on the engine and chassis.
  9. Awesome pictures Tom...... even with a few duplicates.
  10. Wow, what a beautiful car Tulio. You've done an excellent job yet again.
  11. I haven't driven a car since I had my stroke back in June of 2000 and had left side peripheral vision loss. I had a small fender bender because I didn't see a car on the left. Since then either my wife, daughter or friends have driven me wherever I've needed to go. I used to own a '59 Dodge Coronet and went to cruise nights 4 nights a week before the stroke. I had to sell the car since I wasn't driving it anymore. I miss that car terribly, and also miss the independence and freedom that driving gives you. I felt it was better to not take a chance on killing me or anyone else by continuing to drive.
  12. Nice job Steve. Are the grille pieces from Bandit Resins or did you use the '41 Woody grille pieces?
  13. Thanks very much for your very thorough description and analysis of this wonderful and long-awaited new kit Tim. It appears that, in order to be able to take full advantage of the many build variations and parts in this kit, many of us will definitely be buying several of them. Revell has obviously done their homework and has hit a home run with this new release.
  14. I can't wait to have my grandson work on his first model.
  15. Hope you had a great day Greg.
  16. Great job so far Tom, I like it.
  17. Yeah Pete, I've been buying on EBAY for a couple of years now and usually bid with a maximum amount that I'm willing to pay for that item. Unfortunately I'm not always able to be on the computer to place my bid "at the last minute". I've been fairly lucky though because eventually another auction will list for another of those same items, and I've won several of those. I'll just keep on keepin on.
  18. When my wife and I were dating she used to "borrow" her dad's car keys for his '67 Ford and we would climb in the car in the parking lot around the corner and....... Oh...... right...... we're keeping this P.G.
  19. EBAY irked me today. For the fourth time this week a model/promo I was bidding on got sniped at the last minute and I lost by ONE dollar. I know it happens all the time and not just to me, but I really hate those people using those sniping tools.
  20. Tommy, try looking through EBAY listings to see if you can find something you could maybe take apart and repaint for your friend. There are loads of '53 Caddy diecasts listed there. While many are convertibles, there are a few hardtops. If your friend is serious about wanting a model of his car, he should be willing to pay for the cost of the car and shipping. Whether or not you charge him for your time, labor, and materials to take it apart, repaint and detail it is between the 2 of you. I have built several models for friends who had no problem paying for the cost of the model and the shipping. I did it as a favor to my friends, but in several cases, they paid me a little extra for my efforts. Good luck with your project.
  21. You can use either matching colors to the exterior, or, colors that "compliment" the exterior, like lighter or darker shades of a color. Whites, blacks and grays can also be applied for contrasts. Flocking can be used also in matching, complimentary or contrasting colors. If you use gloss paints on interiors you should tone down the shiny gloss with a dullcoat or a coat of semi-gloss. If you use flat paints you can use the oils from your face to give the flat paints a slight sheen... rub your nose or forehead with your finger and then rub the painted interior parts. I hope this helps.
  22. Wow, that looks really sharp Allan. I love the color, and the interior looks great. Wonderful work so far.
  23. That looks great Jim, and it sure is bright in that color.
  24. I've used either thinned flat black paint, or water based flat black paint, or the Detailer...... all have given me good results.
