  1. For engine detailing, the only details that I haven't attempted yet are carburetor linkages (those PE parts are just too darn tiny for me), and secondary electrical wiring (I think it would make the engine compartments look too busy and/or cluttered). Maybe some day when I get really adventurous... For chassis's, I haven't yet tried doing emergency brake lines.
  2. Free air conditioning here too... Temps in the 70's with blue skies and wonderful breezes. Great painting weather for a change.
  3. Ditto to what Steven said above.
  4. I'm pleased overall because we're finally getting about 4 days in a row of beautiful, cool, dry, sunny weather here...... it's about time..!!! I've been able to get paint on 3 different cars yesterday, and a 4th is being prepped. Today will be more masking and painting and maybe even some clearcoating on one of them. It feels great to finally be getting some long-awaited work done.
  5. Great job on this car Jim. I like it a lot.
  6. That Deuce looks great in gold, and I like the wheels too.
  7. You can use a polishing kit that has progressively finer grades of cloths, or, Novus 2 plastic Polish. Either one will take some time but should do the job for you. Both products can be found at a well-stocked hobby shop or online.
  8. I've used masking tape to cover the window area where the windshield wipers would sweep across, and then spray the glass with dullcoat. It gives you a dirty glass effect.
  9. Very nice saves Gene.
  10. Steven, your interior detailing skills are top notch. I really enjoy seeing your work.
  11. My next model purchase??? HaHaHaHaHaHa...... Where should I start?? I REALLY need to win the lottery...!!! I want at least 5 resin kits, 6 newly issued plastic kits, about a dozen diecasts... and that's just for starters.
  12. Very nice looking car Rob, I like your custom touches and the colors.
  13. Wow, good luck with the house hunt John. I hope you and Amy are prepared for the added expenses that living on Long Island can bring.... R.E. Taxes, utilities, etc., not to mention the traffic..!!!
  14. That looks really great Shane.
  15. I agree with ALL of the above.
  16. Rich, that is a Hudelson-Whitebone Connie kit--H-W is credited with being the aftermarket company who kicked off the Continental Spare Tire craze back in the 1950's! Art, I meant a model car aftermerketer.... Like a resin caster. I'd buy it just because it is so cool looking, and, because I like Connie Kits on cars.
  17. I LOVE IT. Now there's an idea for some enterprising aftermarketer.
  18. Gregg, it is now no longer necessary to Log In when I come back to the Forum. Thanks for the fix.
  19. Gregg, is it going to be permanently necessary to have to Log In every time we come back into the Forum??
  20. Like anything new, it will take time to get used to it. Gregg said it's "Moving on up"... Obviously he felt there was a need to upgrade even if most of us don't know or understand why. We'll be used to it in no time since most of us are on here so often.
  21. It hasn't rained yet today...
  22. Great to hear the good news about your eyes Harry. Back in November of last year I was really nervous about having cataract surgery on my left eye, but all went extremely well and I find that I don't need my Optivisors as much anymore. It'll hopefully get even better when I have the same procedure done for my right eye. Fantastic work as usual on the model by the way.
  23. Bill, I believe that the "Highway Patrol" car was a '55 Buick.
  24. Yep...... It rained again.
