  1. I've had some people ask if I would sell them a few of my models but I've always declined. I've only ever built one model for someone for pay, but it turned out to be more of a "chore" than fun. I've built several models for close friends and and relatives and those were "labors of love" because I wanted to please the people whom the models were made for. My older built models get packed away in big boxes as I don't have enough space to display them all.
  2. 5 days to go...!!!
  3. The last time I was at my Dentist's office for an adjustment on my new dentures, I asked the Dentist if he had any old, discarded dental picks that he could part with.... I explained what I would be using them for... He very nicely gave me a bunch of cleaned, sanitized, packaged picks... I've got plenty now that I can use.
  4. Welcome to our plastic playground Stan.
  5. Great to hear Tom. Only 6 days to go. I CAN'T WAIT...!!!
  6. Harry, this is just as entertaining and enjoyable as all of your WIP threads..... and also educational and informative. You're a good teacher with all of your various scratchbuilding tips and techniques. Thanks for that.
  7. Man, does that look cool Blair. Nice work.
  8. My '59 Dodge Coronet had a "ribbon" speedo like that, it changed from green to orange to red as you went faster, as you said. I really wish that I still had that car.
  9. Welcome back to this great hobby Jeff, and also welcome to our plastic playground.
  10. Steven, that looks really great. Excellent job as usual.
  11. Dan, that truck is looking great with those flames.
  12. Great looking car...... If you don't mind a couple of comments,,,,,, It looks like your windshield is not seated correctly, leaving a slight gap at the top. You could use some Bare Metal Foil for the window and body trim. The taillights could use some Tamiya Clear Red paint on the lenses. It doesn't look like you installed the clear headlight lenses. I'm not being picky here, just trying to give you some constructive comments to help you make your model better.
  13. Welcome to our plastic playground Cliff.
  14. Oh Boy...... Here comes another outlandish creation from the creative and sick mind of Ira......!!! (Sick in a GOOD way.)
  15. My ambitious game plan is to build every make American car, for every year of the 1950's. So far I've got the following cars done, with a couple of diecasts thrown in for the cars that no kits were made of in either resin or plastic; 1950 - None built yet, but I have kits of Ford and Oldsmobile. Will be getting resin kits of Cadillac and Nash. 1951 - Chevy Fleetline built. Have resin conversion for the Ford convertible kit. Will be getting resin kit of Pontiac. 1952 - None built yet. Have resin conversion for Chevy and have a Hudson kit. Will be getting resin kit of Pontiac wagon. 1953 - Ford and Studebaker built. Have kits of Chevy and Hudson. Have diecasts of Buick and Cadillac. Need Corvette. 1954 - Resin Dodge kit built. Have kit of Chevy Sedan Delivery. Will be getting Hudson kit. Need Corvette. 1955 - Redid a Buick diecast. Built Chevy. Have diecasts of Ford, Oldsmobile and Pontiac. Have Chrysler kit. Need Corvette and T-Bird. 1956 - Built Buick (promo), Chevy Nomad, Chrysler, DeSoto (promo), Ford, Oldsmobile (promo), Plymouth (promo), Pontiac (promo). Have Chevy DelRay kit and Lincoln promo. Getting resin kits of Cadillac, Dodge and Mercury. Need Corvette and T-Bird. 1957 - Built Chevy, Dodge (resin), Ford, Pontiac (promo), Studebaker diecast. Have Cadillac, Chrysler and T-Bird kits. Will eventually get resin kits of Buick, DeSoto, Lincoln, Mercury and Plymouth. Need Corvette. 1958 - Built Buick (resin), Cadillac, Chevy, Chevy Sedan Delivery (resin), Dodge (promo), Edsel, Ford (resin), Lincoln (resin), Mercury (resin), Oldsmobile (resin), Plymouth. Have Corvette, Imperial, Pontiac (promo). T-Bird. Need a very hard to find DeSoto promo. 1959 - Built Buick, Chevy, Chrysler (promo), Dodge (promo), Imperial and Plymouth (promo). Have Cadillac, DeSoto, El Camino, Lincoln, Mercury, Pontiac and Rambler Wagon. Need Corvette and T-Bird. Obviously I've still got a LOT left to build and to buy. I'll be busy for quite awhile.
  16. X2 for all of the above comments. Joseph's products and service are great.
  17. That's a great looking Chevy Jim. That color is almost a blood red, and so smooth.
  18. Welcome to our plastic playground Erik.
  19. Wow... That came out great Tom. Nice entry for the NNL East web theme. Seeya in a week..!!
  20. I have that March '63 issue of Car Model magazine...... I always wanted to try making that convertible top mechanism but never got around to it. I know that Bill Geary did make the mechanism frame but I don't think he was ever able to find an in-scale material for the Top that would fold up properly.
  21. Hope you have a great day Chuck.
  22. Here's my oldest picture...... It's a copy of a picture from my High School yearbook from my Senior Year in 1965. I'm the guy in the middle and the model that my friend Mike is holding is (I think) my 1962 T-Bird. Mike, Lou and myself were the only guys who were into building models back then. Sorry the picture isn't a little better, but I scanned it from my yearbook......from 50 years ago...!!! I couldn't do that pompadour hair comb now if my life depended on it...... Not enough hair left...
  23. Thanks Tom... and that's great news about dinner on Saturday again..!! You've got a cold one coming... on me. I'll be enjoying the Margaritas... and the wait staff eye candy.
