  1. Wow Steven, that looks fantastic. I love everything about it...... the 2-tone color scheme, the engine compartment details, and especially the spectacular interior. Ya done good my friend.
  2. That's...... well it's...... definitely different there Danno. You've got an active imagination for sure...
  3. That looks really nice Steve.
  4. Loads of great looking Rods... thanks for the inspirational pictures.
  5. Another one of the great masters of the Kustom World now at the "Big Car Show In The Sky".
  6. Very, very nice job Paul.
  7. Excellent job on this Caddy Randy.
  8. Very nice work Jim.
  9. Yeah, give your lacquer color coats at least a full day to dry before clearing them and you should be OK.
  10. Looking good Ray... nice shade of Blue.
  11. That is looking really great James.
  12. Nice stuff Al. I'm surprised that Harry didn't comment on the lack of mirrors on most of those Lincolns.
  13. That looks pretty sharp James.
  14. That's looking good Tom. I picked up one of these kits but haven't opened it yet as I'm in the middle of my '56 Dodge project. I have plans for this '29 kit, but, I'll also be stepping out of my comfort zone and not building it shiny...!!! I've had a drawing from Street Rodder magazine taped to the wall above my workbench for years. It's a "work-in-progress" Rod with a flathead engine...... "the money is in the engine and the wheels & tires" but the car is driveable...... some rust here and there and bondo patches all over the body... not really a Rat Rod although it probably could pass for one. I will get to working on it soon I hope.
  15. I've used Duplicolor clearcoat over Tamiya paints with no problems either.
  16. Thank you very much Jeff and Eric.
  17. Thanks a lot John. It was great to see you again. ...... and thank you Art and Tom.
  18. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. No Vince, I won't be going to the Old Potbelly Gang's show. I'll PM you why...
  19. Yes it was another great show with fabulous models on display. Vendors galore too. I was fortunate to win some awards. My '40 Ford Convertible took First Place Street Rod and Best Interior. My '51 Chevy Fleetline took First Place Custom..........and Best In Show...!!! You could have knocked me over with a feather...!!! In my opinion though, the model that should have won Best In Show was a Large Scale sunken submarine that had an unfortunate meeting with an underwater mine.
  20. Actually it was yesterday, but, I went to the Three Rivers Automodelers show in Castle Shannon, PA, and my models did very well. My '40 Ford Street Rod won First Place Street Rod and Best Interior...... My '51 Chevy Fleetline Custom won First Place Custom and...... Best In Show...!!! You could have knocked me over with a feather.
  21. Welcome back to our hobby, and to our plastic playground Bryan.
  22. I agree with all of the good luck wishes on your project Randy. I bought one of these kits about a year or so ago and every time I opened the box and saw the multi-piece body I just closed up the box again. I wound up getting a '57 Caddy Franklin Mint diecast on EBAY for a cheap price to put in my "Class of '57 collection". There's a little "paint rash" on the doors which I'll get around to fixing one day.
  23. Welcome to our plastic playground Neil.
  24. I started building model cars in the late 50's with the AMT great 1958 kits and went on from there. I dabbled in tanks, halftracks, jeeps and such for a short time, but I always blew them up with firecrackers and lighter fluid.
  25. That is a great looking Caddy Randy.
