  1. Does anyone know if any of the Henry J kits can be built Stock? Maybe even just as a Stock Curbside? Thanks for any input.
  2. Me too, even though I've already built a couple of the Johan promos...... I used to own a 1:1 '59 Dodge Coronet so I like the car and will probably buy a couple of them when they come out.
  3. Hope you have a very Happy Birthday Steven, and many more to come... Make it a great day.
  4. Ditto to all of the above... Be thankful for everything we have.
  5. Welcome to our plastic playground Richard. You'll find loads of good and helpful fellow modelers here. You should look up the TriState Model Club in NJ for some really helpful and entertaining guys who'd be more than happy to help you along in this great hobby.
  6. Where did you get that Metalcast Purple paint Allen..?? It looks great over the silver basecoat.
  7. I built a model of the '58 Lincoln convertible using a Modelhaus kit.
  8. I've been following this build Harry... You did another awesome job as usual. Your detailing is top notch.
  9. That looks great TJ... interesting color combo.
  10. Welcome to our plastic playground Matt. You build pretty nice models for someone who is just "dabbling".
  11. After 2 years of trying, I finally won a 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk promo on EBAY. i was always getting outbid at the last minute. Now I have every car for 1956. All I've got to do now is work on the 4 remaining cars I still have to finish... Chevy, Dodge, Lincoln and Studebaker and then I'll have a complete "Class of '56.
  12. Great job Shane and I love the color combo.
  13. Very nice work Dominik, you did a fine job.
  14. Hope you have a great day Carl.
  15. Thanks again guys. I'm still working on the engine. I haven't been putting in as much time on this as I should have been doing. I'll have to "knuckle down" a bit more on it. My original plan was to sort of replicate one of the cars customized by Barris in the movie High School Confidential...... Maybe I'll do that to another kit.
  16. You'll want to remove any mold release agent on the parts to avoid any fisheyes in the paint or primer. Either soak the parts in a tub of Westleys Bleche White for a day (get it at an Auto Parts Store) and then rinse them with warm water and an old toothbrush, or, thoroughly wash the parts with Dawn dishwashing soap under warm running water using an old toothbrush (not too hot.. you don't want to soften or deform the parts). After they've been washed remove any "flash". Then let the parts air dry for a day, then you can prime and paint them as you normally would.
  17. I would ask your local Postmaster that same question.
  18. Wow, what a great job you did on this car Paul. Well done.
  19. Very nice looking car Steve, thanks for the pictures. Lots of luck with it.
  20. Very nice Steven. Looks like you've still got a lot of work ahead of you. Any more pictures of the rest of the car??
  21. Wow Cliff, that is a great looking car. I never knew that Testors made a '41 Chevy kit. Great job.
  22. Ditto to all of the above.
  23. Both MCM and SA do specific "Contest Issues". MCM's is in February, and SA's is around October. However, during the rest of the year they will have various other shows featured in various issues. It all depends whether or not the magazines either send someone to the specific shows to shoot pictures, or, the show themselves have their own person shoot pictures and then send them in to the magazines. If you have subscriptions to the magazines, or buy them regularly, just keep looking for the specific shows that you've attended.
  24. That looks great with the chrome wheels John, although I did like the Red ones too..
  25. Great job on the Roadster Jeff. I'm planning to do a similar "driver work-in-progress" with the new Revell '29 Roadster.
