  1. This is what I did. Look through here, and see if my pumps are similar to the ones you want.
  2. This looks like a '57 or '58 boat. The kit is a '59, which had quite a few detail differences. This boat is cool, nonetheless.
  3. I think it was just regular Testor's silver enamel with a coating of dullcote.
  4. Don't forget, those areas behind the doors are vents. AMT didn't add them, they just left the area flat.
  5. I used Moline Gold (Tractor Enamel, it doesn't look gold to me!) for the orange, and royal blue for the blue. Both were enamels. This is an older build so I had to make my own trailer decals. Can't wait to see yours! I put a diesel engine in mine. As a side note, when i was at the Roadway terminal getting photos for the build, one of the drivers gave my young son a ride around the yard in an old Mack. Those Roadway guys were really friendly!
  6. If the glass is always either half full or half empty, it's probably twice the size it needs to be.
  7. Really has the look of action, like a moment of time is frozen. It makes you look at it.
  8. Yes. Missing Link owns all right to it now. They have the master. They have compensated me so everything belongs to them.
  9. Then you can't see the differences? I agree they OUGHT to be the same cab, but I don't think they are. Of course, I've been wrong before....
  10. Look at the picture below the cab. It looks like the bottom of the vent window is more or less even with the bottom of the windshield. This is correct. Now look at the resin cab. The vent window bottom is well below the bottom of the windshield, and it looks like the main driver window bottom is more or less even with the bottom of the windshield. This is not correct. I point this out so those of you who might care will be aware of it. G'day!
  11. I read all of your comments, and I will continue to read them as more are added. I got just what I hoped for when I started this thread. You've all given me points to think about. Thanks for all the responses. As one who is virtually impossible to offend on a message board, I guess I tend to feel everyone is the same way. I need to stop and realize everyone is different. reading these posts reminds me of that. Thanks again!
  12. This topic is concerning compliments given to posts of poorly executed models. When I see this, I wonder if there is any value in receiving compliments. If I thought every compliment was honest, I could use them as a gauge of sorts to see how my peers view my models, and how far I have to go. I understand the philosophy of "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything." I also understand not wanting to be a jerk, but at the same time, are these responses honest? I'm not really passing any kind of judgment on the posted models or the responses. What I would like to see is a discussion of this issue from all sides. I was a beginner once, and when I was given honest feedback on my "best efforts", I knew they were right. It seems everyone wants to go through life without ever being offended. I think learning to cope with criticism is a much more valuable skill than trying to avoid it.If there is criticism, it should be honest and helpful. "That model looks like garbage" is not very useful. "A polishing kit might get some of that orange peel out, try it on your next build" is more useful. I look forward to everyone's response.
  13. I don't worry about it. It's just a discussion board. If someone does it to me, I don't care. If they get upset if I do it, I don't care. That being said, I would never do anything on here with the purpose of offending someone else. I'm sure I've done it by being tactless, clueless, etc., but it is never my purpose to set out to offend someone else.
  14. Thank you. I actually have that brochure. It gives me some idea of the roof, but not enough to build from.
  15. Does anyone have a picture of the top of the cab of a Ford W series truck? Picture shows style of W I'm talking about. Thanks!
  16. Thank you. Dimensions were obtained from Nashua brochures and hundreds of screen grabs from the show. ,
  17. I also gave the Buick a shot, but I need to redo some things. I'm sure your Grand Prix will have many buyers!
  18. Great minds think alike. The Grand Prix is now painted red.
  19. Here's a couple Mustangs...
  20. Side trim is made from evergreen strip styrene. I can't remember the exact sizes. There was an inner and outer strip with space in between so I could paint the fine black line between the strips.
  21. I made them. I started with the wheels from the 10th Anniversary Trans Am kit.
  22. I was just like you. I wanted a step van, so I made one.
  23. The hardest one for me to acquire so far has been the JoHan 1969 Rebel.
  24. Correct. I included a pic of the real one. I just copied it.
