  1. Very nice. I assume you will eventually weather/age everything up a bit, so I am REALLY looking forward to that. Would be cool to see some video clips of some of your techniques
  2. I bought the Badger one of those years ago before I knew it was a milk frother. Kinda cool but spins really fast, and well..froths the paint too if not careful. I just hit it with bursts or lay my finger against the rod to slow the rotation down. I mostly use it with old paint that needs to be brought back to lilfe, but I am certainly glad I have the tool. I DO recommend it.
  3. Thanks for the link. Nice to be ale to browse from afar
  4. I do not think the base should have been taken into consideration either. I was just hazarding a guess.
  5. OK, First place was Chris Newton, project called Underdog that included a race pit scene with several vehicles. Second place Dwayne Sucharda for a dual axle trailer with MC Magazine Racing marking in Olde English style with dirt track racer (Nice but may not have won because of the base it was photographed on. Third Harold Oswald, tri-axle with Galaxie 48 Chevy gasser and Willis pickup to pull. Also looked very vice and depending on other pictures maybe should have placed higher. Honorable Mentions Rod Cook, DJ McLauchlin, Rueben Plachy. I wish they would have included more space, they only had three pages dedicated, but as I recall each person had to submit their own photos ,so I bet that limited the amount of good photos they had to work from.
  6. Dave, that is one sweet ride!
  7. I used this one to make my 32 Ford Baron Most of the contents of the kits are not very good, Lots of flash, msuhy details, crude really. A few parts are still working their way onto other projects. The headers are currently onn my Spearmin-T project. Havnig said that, I would like to pick up the 25 and 27 at some point, and certainly the delivery, just have to catch them at a show.
  8. I did the same thing, but several cans from them on clearance, but I will say that I shot some of it last night (I too usually use Tamiya) and I found it shot much better than expected. I may not use it as a final prime over a special project, but if I am not wanting something as thick as gray filler, or thin as the Tamiya white, I can see myself using this more often. Pleaseantly surprised.
  9. hmm, will have to think about the kits, but I do know Modelhaus makes the spyders, most of the mag wheels in older kits have the top center cap molded in. The Beatnik Bandit does have the chrome center caps that have the tiny bullet in the center
  10. that is better than a poker player I have heard introduce his wife as "my future ex wife"......I am sure she has/will make that happen at some point.
  11. Call me weird as well then, I also like the green.
  12. AND....will continue to remember it the way she wants....even if you have recorded evidence that would prove otherwise!
  13. How many 1:1 cars usually show up for the cruise?
  14. I have a copy at home, I will let you know tonight if i can.I do not recall off the top of my head.
  15. cool. I have not seen a stack like that on a scale rat rod yet that I can recall.
  16. Looks good to me, show winner or not.
  17. Are you talking about the Tucson IPMS contest, or the big swap meet that they have at that old mall?
  18. Nice tip, and by all means, yes, protet that work.
  19. Very nice, those small details like that can really enhance the realism.
  20. Most of what I got done this week will not be easily recognized as "progress" because it is things like tie rod and connectors. The wheels can work together, and controlled by the steering wheel. The connection at the base of the steering unit will be a little crude to function, but will not be seen easily. That is ok tho as this build is to be mostly inline with something that would have been built maybe 30 years ago. Officially up on it's feet now that I am committed to the wheel choice. Engine mounted, black wash applied etc, just missing front brake lines at this point. The only construction I have left before final assembly is the windshield.
  21. Wow, your ability to visualize get these sub-assemblies right really makes your final products look so real.
  22. Had a great time today. Danno, Bernie nice to see you guys. Jonathan, thanks for the LHD parts. Mike it was good to see you again after all these years!
