  1. That is a bummer. I would double check the tracking number tho, just make sure it was not recorded as being "out for delivery" or something similar where it is just in the area, but not to your door. Good luck, I hope it works out.
  2. Going to have to get a bigger sock for Santa to fill this year!
  3. This is most certainly one of those days that I know where I was at, when I found out. I had just walked into work, and it was on our big screen as someone had turned on the news. I walked in just in time to see the second tower hit. I cannot imagine forgetting the surrealism of it all.
  4. Nice, I have a lot of brass lying around, and did not think to do that.
  5. I got a little more done on this. I got some suspension parts done in Alclad, here is a mock up of the bag set up.
  6. We had almost 25% of our workforce miss work yesterday.
  7. Too bad Scale Motorsport never did them.
  8. Classic, looks great
  9. Looks great. You completed model looks so much better than the box would imply of the kit inside.
  10. I got some of the Alclad done, like the rear axle. It did not turn out as chrome as I would like it to, but not going to strip it a third time.... Chassis is coming together tho.
  11. Looking forward to following along
  12. Larry KraucK! A blast from the past! Welcome to the forum!
  13. Thanks guys. I hope to get a lot done between tonight and this weekend.
  14. You should be good to go! That surface of the box will be easy to keep clean as well.
  15. Thanks Joe and Brad! Tim, that is a brand of tape similar to Tamiya, but it is another Japanese company called Kamoi. I picked it up at a hobby shop, but I know you can get it online. This one is the masking tape, snuggles down real nice, but they also make pattern tape too. I am sure they have different widths, but this is 1.5 inches wide. Bernard, yeah it will sit more level than that, as it is literally just sitting there right now. It will have some slant to it, but nothing like it shows above.....I hope LOL
  16. OK, got it sanded out, just need to polish it. Mocking everything up and looking at some wheel choices. I was going to use the chrome reverse from the Beatnik Bandit, but will likely just use the rear mags and tires from the kit. The front wheels are looking like parts box chrome reverse and white wall tires. The rear tires are really nice, with Racemaster lettering from the kit but are blackwall. So I made a negative mask from tape, and shot the tires..... but......typical of me, was working late and trying to multi-task. I had one tire forward and and the other one not, so now they are white wall on both sides.. But they still look good, to me.
  17. The idea is that it is judged on it's "curb appeal". If it were being judged at a contest for example, no one is looking for a motor, or chassis, or even interior in some cases. I have seen windows that have been painted black from the inside and in some cases, they may not have any chassis detail at all, and I mean none, just wheels glued up under the body. I have not seen one like that in a while tho. At a contest, you may see a box stock build entered into a curbside catagory, or an old rebuilt promo for example. it allows people that want something quicker than a full detail, or maybe just something to stick on the shelf to get them out of a building slump.
  18. Cool stuff! Did you move away from the valley?
  19. Cool project! what was the source of the rear suspension pieces?
  20. Big Thumbs up!
  21. Mancave sounds cool, add a pinball machine, maybe big screen TV.
  22. loking forward to more on this
