Revell 30 Model A Ford Production Halted?
Modelbuilder Mark replied to Daddyfink's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Come now Ace, you yourself stated on page one "I had really wanted to get several of the coupe kits and had saved up a little fund specifically for that. When my local Hobby Lobby got them in, I picked up three with the 40%-off coupons...over several weeks. " Then not long after Dave Ambrose stated "'I, for one, would love a '66 Dart. That was the car I learned to drive in. " Both of which I assume to be factual. I would agree there is mostly conjecture here, but not totally without fact along the way. -

Welcome! You'll find lots of great builders and information here.

This event has been that elusive white buffalo for me, and remains on my bucket list.

Thanks Danno, that is very kind of you. There would have only been a couple this year anyway, it has been a very slow year, even by my normal slow infrequent time at the bench standards. Maybe that means I will have more to bring next year. :-) I am still looking forward to making it before the door close for judging to see what everyone else had brought.

This is why I have wondered before about our hobby over the last 15 years or so, why are there not more ties in to relevant automotive shows/movies? In years past, when model building was much larger hobby, there were more tie-ins to the 1:1 show/hot rod world, or TV shows/Movies etc. Did that connection to something help grow our hobby? Now, they do come out once in a while, like the Fast and Furious franchise, or even WAYyyyy after the fact, like Starsky and hutch or Laurel and Hardy or Three Stooges tie in. I know we have the Foose series, but I think there are just missed opportunities in this realm. I would imagine that more than anything else, it comes down to money, and licensing. We can barely even get tires that have a company logo on them for that reason. Too bad.

I agree, I have gotten items from them a few times now, a couple years a part in one case, but I am always pleased. I am getting ready to put in another small order. Always fast too! -
I would say you were able to get some nice results out of the kit!
-
I agree, better kit than expected, it should turn out great.

Great looking model

Nniiiice and clean.

This should be cool

Wow, excellent for 50 year layoff. I would not think this was your first finish back. My only suggestion would be use some washes on the motor, rims etc to add depth. Really looking good tho.

What time does registration close? I will not be able to get there early.

Very nice results on the clear, what brand is it? Did you Polish it Out? Looks like you did, but I thought you might not to stay period correct. -
