So last evening I'm shutting the blinds I notice something moving around at the base of the bird feeder in the back yard. At dusk sometimes it is hard to see all the details of a small animal and it takes me a minute to realize it is a Racoon about the size of a small dog. This explains the destroyed bird feeders of late. I stepped out the back door and the Racoon sort of freezes in place. I start down the stairs on to the patio and he takes off running for the culvert at the edge of our yard and the golf course cart path. He jumped into the culvert and then turns around and stares at me thru the bars of rebar that are supposed to keep larger thing from going down the drain. I sewer he was sticking his tung out at me.

Great looking paint work and especially the chassis detailing. Impressive wiring setup.

Great show. The Fairlane was a "right sized" car for the time as well as being a good looking and performing car. There was a guy where I was living at the time that had a '63 Fairlane with the K code engine in the same color combination as your picture. Found out later he had just graduated from the CHP academy. I was at the Winter Nationals when the Thunderbolts first hit the Drag Stripe, they were awesome to watch in action. The Dan Gurney models you mentioned were sold primarily on the West Coast and that may account for one not being around.

Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?
espo replied to Rockford's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think "yes and no". When these magazines started to be taken over by someone other than car enthusiasts the content became less and less interesting over time and the relevance of their printed articles did the same. This is what I think has killed a lot of print magazines on many subjects. You can blame the internet in part, but with management whose sole focus of turning an ever-bigger profit without investing in the things that create that return play a much larger part of the problem. -
I agree with Jim, Customline, on the Plymouth. I have fiddled with one of those a couple of times and just put it back in the box. I felt that I didn't need the brain damage trying to get the body parts to meet up let alone deal with the chassis. Nox this Galaxie looks like it has nice body proportions and general shape.

1937 Ford pickup tow truck
espo replied to eran_k's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great looking bed conversion and crane details. Like the paint colors and the finish. Looks like it is brand new and ready for its first tow. -
Beautifully done paint and all the chrome trim. The color combination with the interior looks great.

Beautiful paint work and you captured the overall look of the car as it appeared in the movie. Must have been a job removing the Bel Air insert trim on the rear fenders.

Great looking paint color and finish. Like the low cruiser stance.

1965 Plymouth Belvedere I 426 Commando [1/25 Moebius]
espo replied to e30lover's topic in Model Cars
Beautiful looking paint finishes and color. Following this WIP it was interesting to see the attention to detailing and finish at every step of this build. So realistic looking, all it needs is some white shoe polish numbers and class designation for a Saturday night at the drags. -
Great looking color and finish. Like how you got the fabric look to the interior. Interesting looking air cleaner set up.

Revell '32 Ford 5 Window Coupe. Silver with Blue Flames.
espo replied to Dragonhawk1066's topic in Model Cars
Beautiful looking paint work especially the flames. Great looking interior. The engine and chassis are cleanly detailed and painted. The "Americans" just look right on this. -
The paint gives the effect of the big metal flake paint work from the past and the finish looks great. Like the changes to the grill and parking lamps, it is a Kustom after all. The tuck and roll interior looks good. Nice reflection on the chrome hub caps.

Wondering through You All Mart yesterday and found a 1/27th Jeep Gladiator pickup that looks more like a 1/25th next to what is sitting on the work bench. For $10.97 it is a steal. Metal body with nice detailing on the body and the pop out interior and bed as well. Got it disassembled and looking at colors to replace the Olive Drab shade of Green on it now.

The plastic mesh material looks fairly thin. Maybe if you can find a pair of scissors that medics use to cut their materials. I by chance got a pair years ago that are made of stainless steel. The cutting edge is just over 2 inches long and there is no flex between the blades as you use them for cutting. These things cut .5 mm sheet plastic like butter.

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?
espo replied to ctruss53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was going to make an upholstery suggestion, but it sounded like you already had your seating picked out. I was thinking some of the reproduction upholstery that is available but use the Impala pattern seats. I'm sure there would be a cost consideration as well. I think I mentioned before that I was fortunate to have owned a '66 Impala SS when new. I have always liked the overall style of the '66, and I think that is why I enjoy seeing what all you are doing with yours. -
Great looking paint and trim finishes. The Police equipment looks very well done. Interesting that MO. Highway Patrol used the Mercury in 1969. Where I was living in California a few of the cities went with the Mercury as well as a couple of CHP units.

Great looking paint and trim finishes. The colors offered on the Chrysler products at that time were really stylish for the time. Like the optional wire wheels.

The paint finish and color look great. The clean finishes and of course the background in these photos really make this model stand out.

Hot Rod online has an article about John Force and the fact that he is in the ICU unit for observation. As others have mentioned, many are holding him in their thoughts and prayers. I'm sure it is for the best that this is what they are doing. He just looked so alert and uninjured in the clips I have seen when they first got him out of the car. I hope that proves to be the case.

Great looking color. Like the interior details.

Remarkably clean looking '66 Bel Air considering its age. -
What did you see on the road today?
espo replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Read today where vandals have been stripping these charging stations of the copper wire. I don't condone that, but it does serve the same purpose. -
He needs a treat for just looking so cute.

Read about this this morning. I liked what he was quoted as saying afterwards. He said, "Time's running out, and I'm trying to hang on." Guys 75 and still one the most competitive drivers in the sport. Who else could blow and engine at over 300 mph, bounce of both retaining walls on fire and sit up on the gurney and smile for the camara.
