Do you also have 1:1 project cars?

Any of the 15" and most of the 14" Chevrolet Rally wheels, the one with the five open slots, should clear disc brakes since that was one of the reasons for their design starting in 1967. The 15x7's are still pretty inexpensive at most swap meets and garage sales. Some of the disc brake conversions from the aftermarket may even clear your stock 14x6 wheels. Another alternative if you're wanting to stay with 14"ers, your SS hub caps being a full wheel cover might fit a 14" Rally wheel and that would hide the wheel openings and look more like a stock option. Either way I like how you have redone this '66. -

Always like how you mix and match the bodies on your commercial trucks. Realistic looking body paint finishes and trim. -

Like all the extra details in the interior and the chassis detailing. -
Great looking build. Like the stance and the wide whites.

Great looking paint color and finish. The changes to the bumpers due look better and the way you did the grill painting. Like the engine choice.
-
Like the paint color and finish. The interior finish looks good. Nice chassis detailing as seen in the front end shot. The wheels fit the time frame of the mid '60's.
-
Great looking build. The body colors work well, and the minimal body trim make it look like a 150-base model. The chassis changes would work well in 1:1 to strengthen the chassis. The engine looks perfect for this.

I like seeing the Aussie cars as they seemed to have a more interesting looking than the US versions. Great looking color and body trim.

The plastic surgery looks great, you would never know it didn't come this way. Paint and body trim look good.
-
Great looking build. The color combination looks good, and the trim is nice and clean.
-
You sure did capture the early Kustom look. Bright paint and good-looking chassis detailing.

Like the shiny roof and the simulated rub through of the paint on the fender and rear quarter panel are very realistic looking. Great idea on the frosted windows. The body trim all looks good and like the surf boards.

I like how you made the bed floor able to slide in and out. That should make the detailing of the floor easier to do. -
Might have to raise the interior floorboards to compensate for the body channeling.

Looks like the start of a car show. -
why did round 2 switch tire brands
espo replied to michelle's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Don't understand why Good Year or Firestone would get their shorts in a bunch since the scale tires we deal with aren't something they sell anyway. The popularity of the brand name could be like an unpaid advertisement for their full-scale tires. -

I have used sheets of plastic from Plastruct that represent O scale corrugated siding. The sheet is 7" by 12" and thin enough to bend easily. Their part number is #91519 and I would think any hobby shop that caters to scale trains would have or could get it for you. -

A couple of ideas on wheels and keeping them looking stock. In 1966 Chevrolet offered an option of their F-41 Sport Suspension. Part of that package included a 6 1/2 inch wide 14" wheel. The appearance even with the standard dog dish hub caps looks the same as the standard wheel except for being slightly deeper dished. The stock standard hub caps are not a problem. These wheels were also used on some station wagon models as well as the Cameros. The other would be a little more aggressive and may not be what you're looking for, the 15" rally wheels in either the 6" wide which is more common and less expensive than the Corvette 8" wide Rally wheels. Chevrolet offered a small center hub cap that is flat and had a bow tie on them. They were used for the Taxi Cabs and PD cars. These are also reproduced without the Bow Tie on them. I had a set of the 15 by 8s painted body color on my '72 and my '86 Monte Carlos. -
Beautiful looking paint color and finish. I like the way you finished the chassis and interior finishes. The chassis and engine could be displayed by themselves.
