  1. Nice to see that you're back on this build. Having also owned a '69 Camaro years ago, not a big block car, I have been enjoying watching the extent you have been going to in the detailing and accuracy in your build.
  2. The Arden Head conversion was originally designed to give larger Ford trucks with the Flathead engine a little more pulling power years ago. Then engine builders of the day discovered they could enhance Flathead engines used in more performance uses. A '40 with a blown Arden engine makes perfect sense here.
  3. I'll try and see if he is at the show on June 9. I think I bought some of his wheels last year myself, but as I remember they were in unmarked zip lock bags and looked more like a small diameter or even a low rider style wheel. Great looking finish on them.
  4. Great looking Nomad. The color reminds me of the old Chevrolet Harbor Blue shade. Clean detailing throughout.
  5. Really bright body and interior colors. Great body work blending all of the custom body parts. You got the stance as well.
  6. Beautifully done paint finish and like the color. Great interior detailing and hiding all those wires and battery.
  7. The under carriage looks like a SF Bay area car might look if parked on the street its whole life.
  8. Major looking body work so far.
  9. I was thinking of manual transmission applications. As for automatic transmission cars, my personal feeling is that using the left foot for braking, while it seems many like to use this method, I feel as though it would be too easy to press to hard without realizing it and cause other control problems. Unless the use of your left foot was and is your normal driving style with an automatic. In emergency situations many drivers tend to brake to hard or even turn the wheel too far and lose control of a vehicle.
  10. Great color combination and like the wheels you used. Nice engine detailing.
  11. Great looking shade of blue and the black stripes look good. Like the wheels and the engine detailing.
  12. Beautiful looking paint color and finish. The interior looks great, and the color goes well with the body color. like the nice chrome trim.
  13. Remarkably great shape for a car approaching 60 years old. Wise to install the new wheel cylinders, the inside of the OEM ones would have to be pitted too much to rely upon.
  14. I would use the "heal - toe method" in that case.
  15. Thankyou David. The seat inserts were an experiment that worked as I had hoped. The interior was painted with Tamiya Matt Black. I masked off the area that would be the cloth insert that Ford did. Theirs actually looks even better with additional color threads running through the cloth material. I sprayed the inserts lightly at arm's length using Testors Extreme Lacquer Pure Gold so the color would arrive at the seats fairly dry and that added a little more depth.
  16. Thank you Jim. I do a light dusting coat of clear blue on the inside. I allow it to dry overnight and then dip the windows in a small container if Pledge floor polish. When I remove the glass from the Pledge I allow the excess to run off onto a paper towel. I'll even touch the bottom edge of the glass to sort of wick away any extra to try and prevent any runs in the finish. By morning it is fine to handle. I have been using Revell' Contacta clear glue for clear parts. You really don't need to use very much and any dried glue on the headliner can be touched up with a brush.
  17. Got the glass tinted and installed. The chassis and interior are coming together as well.
  18. OH man, there goes my model buying budget again.
  19. Great looking Chris Craft. I like the different colored wood finishes just like they did.
  20. That should be a great color combination.
  21. Like the idea for your build. The chase scene set the standard for movie chase scenes in its day.
  22. Any adhesive residue left on the body and paint from where the excess foil is removed?
