Check out Mecum's web site for past auctions results. I remember a few like this show up at one of their auctions in a two-door configuration. At first, I thought they may have been done by a body shop with custom paint jobs and they were lowered and had custom wheels. The description mentioned that they were built in Mexico and as I recall they were only a couple of years old, so they may still be built there today.

Chassis fitment of AMT '69 Camaro......
espo replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have also used the method Greg mentioned to even mount bumpers and grills in older kits that didn't have real good mounting points to glue to. 90-degree angle styrene from Plastruct or Evergreen are readily available and work well. -

Great looking color. -
Great looking build. I like the European Rally body style.

Beautiful looking paint color and finish. The chrome trim all looks perfect. Like the contrasting interior color. Hard to beat the Texas 3d engines for detailing. I'm working on the same model and share your tight fit issue between the interior and the body. Finding that the dash and interior are wider than the inside edges of the windshield and seems to stop the chassis and interior seating all the way into the body without a lot of sanding on the outer edges of the interior.

Great looking color combination and finish. Like the RWL tires and rally's.

I'm not a Ford guy per say but I remember when Ford started these special Mustang models years ago. One, Ford did a great job with the appearance addons. Two, they sold like hot cakes. Very smart marketing in their part and a good deal for the buyers.

That one black '55 post car looks like someone toke a couple of inches out of the roof? -
Do suspension work on your hands and knees can and will kick your butt. I have an old pair of knee pads that I got at Home Depot when I was doing some flooring jobs in the house. I use them every time I'm pulling weeds in the flower beds or any time I have to get down on my hands and knees. They are well worth the investment.

Beautiful looking paint color and finish. The mild custom touches look good. Like the stance along with the wheel & tire combo. -
Great looking color combination and finish. Like the era custom touches.

Beautiful looking Thunderbird. Enjoyed watching your build and all of the extra effort you put into the detailing and the addition of the LED lights. The color looks so 1955.

Beautiful looking paint finish and color. The body details look great, and I like the rear window defogger can even be seen.

Chopped '32 Ford Tudor Sedan Highboy. The beginning!...
espo replied to Tim W. SoCal's topic in WIP: Model Cars
As for any suggestions on frame color, may input would be lots of spoon color test runs. For some reason I find the sedan body style more interesting than a normal 3 or 5 window coupes. -
Look forward to seeing you put your touch in this.

Been enjoying looking at your builds and the Aussie subjects. The level of detailing and paint finishes have all been outstanding. Have often wished some of the later Holden vehicles could have been purchased here. In 2005 I bought what was sold here as a Pontiac GTO. This would have been a Holden Manero there. The car had the 6 liter, 400 hp LS2 engine with a 6 - speed manual Transmisson with fully independent suspension. The interior was on a par with the highest end cars sold here and the fit and finish throughout the car was as well. Truly hated to have to sell it, but as one advances in age agility required to get in and out of some cars becomes an issue, and so I now drive a Dodge Charger. When I was a young man there used to be a bumper sticker that said, "Stamp out low performance drivers - not high-performance cars". I still agree with that sentiment.

Ford had a great body style here. Your "before" finish looks great, the "after" finish is very realistic looking rust and deterioration.
-
Beautiful looking paint and interior colors and finish. The engine detailing adds a lot of realism. I like the overall Tunner look with the stance and the wheel and tire combination.

Great looking Police Car. Nice kit with all the PD stuff in it.

Congratulations on the well-deserved award.

Looks like the "Rally Green" color. Great paint and the Z stripes that everyone had to have. Chrome Cragar's and shackles, perfect stance. Like the engine detailing also.

Beautiful looking build. I like how you presented some of the history of the car and its design. Most have no idea what it is when they see one, but they still make me smile and respect what they represented at the time. A few years ago, on a short vacation in Grande Travers Bay Mi. they were having an owner's convention there. These cars in various colors and trim were all over town, it was a sight. Your build accurately shows many of the quarks and unique features of the car.

Beautiful looking Monte. The paint finish is better than anything GM was doing at that time, but the color is spot on. We ordered a new '86 Monte Carlo SS and owned it for 18 years. It was this shade of white with the dark maroon interior. The shape of the taillight reveals, and the decals are slightly different between the '87 and the '86. From what I can see of the interior it looks exact. The engine is detailed just like the real car. These were great cars for what was available at the time and your build look very accurate to my eyes.

Like looking at the chassis and driveline details.
