Playing with decals...
espo replied to Terry Jessee's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Like the extra detailing you have done on these die cast. -
Great looking paint color and finish don't even see the bleed through from the package tray. Like seeing a Flathead detailed like this. I agree with Robert, having the rumble seat working gives you a display option.

Great looking paint finish and like the color.

Some of the bumper issues can be minimized by reshaping the body panel between the bumper and the lower body. You'll also need to trim the back edges of the bumper wraparound a little. The body panel also mates too the radiator support and that is the area you're going to be trimming.

For those of us of a certain age, any time you hear this music or watch this movie it's like reliving your formative years.

Great looking color and the Pledge/ Chrome grill and bumper idea is something I'll have to try.

As Dennis mentioned, most of the new drivers here have no idea of how to coordinate their hands and feet at the same time in order to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission. Case in point, when I used to take our Jeep Wrangler into the Jeep dealer for service, they had to go get the "older salesman" that we ordered it from to drive the Jeep up to return it when they were done. The mechanics never seemed to have a problem, but the lot boys were at a loss.

Traditional Hot Rod Beach Racing

Thank you for sharing. I also found another video on YouTube on this and other beach and T.R.O.G. style races. -
Removing cast in wheel lug nuts.

Like this idea a lot. -
Great looking '51 Chevy. Had a friend in high school who drove one but in primer, that's all we could afford back then. I'm using some Novus #2 along the edges right now and that seems to be working. Thank you for your interest in the build. I put the windows in last night and started putting the interior on the floor pan. May get some pictures up tonight.

Very realistic looking. Looks more like photos of a real setting than a diorama.

Beautifully done with your usual standards. We have an old expression about " Making a silk purse out of a pig's ear". And here we are.

Beautiful looking paint finish and colors. Cleanly built. Like that you built it as a stocker, but I'll bet it would also make a great looking street rod.

My new model room in our new home.
espo replied to Brutalform's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Great idea to gut the area and start over. Cost a little more going in but pays off in the long run. The white walls really brighten up the room and bounces the light around to make the whole area brighter. You even have a window to vent your spray booth, just need a place to mount it. -
That would be a beautiful looking color and I recall seeing a few when new. My personal color idea on another build would be in a shade of red like they offered at the time. You mentioned the issue with masking the trim. I did mask of the lower body side molding along with the splash trim behind the rear wheel opening. My thought was to try and save as much of the models trim detailing in that area as this can often be lost under a few coats of paint. I did end up using a lot of masking tape around the side and upper body molding to help guide the trimming of the chrome foil. I had used a #11 to outline all of the chrome before and after the first primer coats but the upper moldings were still so light it was hard to see. Another advantage was that the new sheet of chrome foil I had would leave adhesive residue on the finished paint and by masking the edges of the trim most of it was on the masking tape when removed. Something to consider for next time.

Revell 1/25 Formula 1 speedboats - anyone know more?
espo replied to robdebie's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I would still be interested in a trade for the boat and trailer. The cowling you mention, is that for the engine or the area between the driver's seating area and the stern and engine mounting area? -
Great looking paint color and the finish is really smooth looking. I've not built this kit and wonder about the vinyl roof portion. Is the vinyl roof a separate part from the body?

I might be interested in a trade for the boat and trailer and the truck as well if you're not thinking of building it. What sort of kits are you looking for? -
Beautiful looking body work and paint. At first glance from the front, it almost looks like the body has been sectioned. The wheel opening arches look like they have been raised. A lot of design Q's without looking busy. The chassis and engine designs go perfect with the body styling.

Beautiful looking paint color and finish. The engine detailing and color use really catches your eye. Like you, American Torque Thrust 5 spokes are my default wheel on anything.
-
Great looking paint finish and like the pin stripes on the rear deck. Always like seeing just how good a kit like this can look out of box and just cleanly built.

My ‘98 Camaro Z28, replica ish. Kitbash delux.
espo replied to Mattilacken's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I feel your pain. You obviously made your Camaro look special and took care of it. Always hurts when you see a car you worked so hard to create and maintain and then have the next owner treat it like its nothing. Have had this happen more times than I can count.
